Living in Florida is always full of surprises!
Look at this squirrel we saw in the backyard this week!
We called him a bunny squirrel with the end of his tail pure white and his chest a bright white too!
And we see crows or ravens here every day!
But we don't see the American White Ibis in the backyard very often!
That was a fun surprise.
Hope he ate lots of bugs and comes back soon!
Did you see anything surprising at your house this week?
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

No surprises here! Just the lovely birds at the feeders and deer...lots of deer. Love the squirrel with the white tail spot! Hugs!!
That is an unusual squirrel, Diane. And, of course, we don't see birds like that here. We did, however, see a huge storm move in across the water and watched it come towards us and hit our shore. Sure gonna miss this view when we move in a few months. Have a great weekend, Diane. xo Diana
Hello, the white-tipped tail squirrel is a neat sighting. I wonder if that is rare? I always loved seeing the White Ibis all around Florida. You are lucky they are in your yard. Great photos. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday! Wishing you a happy weekend!
At this rental I see squirrels, chipmunks, cardinals, finches, woodpeckers, rabbits and geese!
Love the squirrel tale ~ great photos of nature ~ ^_^
No, and let's keep it that way! 🤓
No surprises here but that squirrel looks really tall!
Happy Saturday 2 ya
Very nice photo of an ibis, Diane. Of course we haven't seen him in our neck of the woods, but we have seen that black snake! Yikes! Have a great weekend. ♥
Love your nature photographs! Hope you're having a great weekend.
Hey that is one neat looking squirrel--we just have the small regular looking ones here--who love to come down the ramp for peanuts--
but today down there I seen a mother duck and 6 babies--they are quite large==I was sooo happy-we need a couple more ducks here and have been waiting and waiting to see some babies--
enjoy the moments, di
Love that squirrel and the way it is sat up, good shot of the Ibis too.
Thanks once again for adding me to your blog.
Have an enjoyable weekend, Gordon.
I am glad that you are enjoying the White Ibis on your lawn and not getting upset at it for digging into your grass. I am sure the larvae it removes more than compensate for the little work you have to do afterwards to tidy up again.
Cute pictures, I really like the squirrel. We saw a bunny this week!
...the squirrel and crow would be a home here. but that's it.
Such sweet and cute critters, my friend. Have a lovely night! Hugs!
We found a sweet little nest on the ground up by the gate a few days ago. The ground bird had pushed small pebbles together to form the nest and then laid three brown speckled eggs in it. The eggs were shaped like fat teardrops. Alas, today we went up to look at it and the red ants had invaded the nest and devoured the insides of one of the eggs. The other two were good so Sherry took them home to put with her chicken eggs in the incubator. We also saw a busy spider spin an amazing web in minutes the other night! Then Louis Dean forgot it was there and walked right through it!
I would enjoy your yard! I have never seen a white ibis that I remember, for sure not in the wild.
Hi,
I love the squirrel! What a cute fella. No, I have never seen one like that.
This week we had a black and white cat visit. ;-) Not sure where he lives, but he comes for a visit once a week or so.
Most exciting siting this week was a raccoon... Not that exciting! Lots of grey squirrels here, and a few red ones, but no white tipped tails!
Oh, that American White Ibis is a peculiar looking bird, and so graceful. It has thin long legs like the flamingo hehehe And that squirrel is very different with the white tail, how funny. I bet you were surprised to see these critters right in your back yard, Diane. : )
Have a peaceful weekend.

Cute squirrel! And I love the ibis.
This is a really beautiful squirrel !! She posed like a real model !!
Fantastic photos !!
Happy Sunday !
Thanks for linking in and sharing your experiences and photos with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' Diane!! Those white ibis will surprise you when you least expect it. We had that happen here in our neighborhood some years ago...after it rained. I've not seen them in the yard since.
That squirrel is very unique. Is that a special breed? Oh and the spotted/blotched pattern on the heron in my post today...if the bird had a BLUE BILL/BEAK with a black tip, it's always a little blue heron.
The ibis is a rather nice bird to have in a garden Diane. Beats my House Sparrows I think!
The only surprise at my house this week was that the decorator finally arrived after he'd stood us up twice. Great photos.

We've got a cute red squirrel that comes up, but the grey ones don't have as fluffy a tail as your little guy does. Love when the wildlife visit. I could watch (and listen) for hours, XOXO
Love Bunny Squirrel! We saw our first little grey one in the yard yesterday!
crows and ravens we have a lot, But no Ibis. Would love to see one .
I love those birds too , we have a group that comes by early in the morning at our house.
Here is Lakeland we get flocks of Ibis roaming through yards and neighborhoods. They are fun to watch! Florida squirrels are so skinny compared to the ones we see "up north". Yours with the white-tipped tail is so unusual.
Loved all of your photographs, especially the squirrel.
We've had a lot of interesting sightings this weekend!
Our neighbours had a children's birthday party where they all dressed up. A lot of spider men, wonder woman and many others were spotted having fun ... it was lovely to hear them all laughing together!
All the best Jan
He is a very tall squirrel! And look at that tail, would you? I love that you see these special birds in your yard.
I did see something special on my patio last week. When I opened my patio blinds each morning, there was a mallard duck with his lady duck making a nest in my hosta. I didn't want to scare him away, but each morning after opening my blinds, they got the message and never came back. I am glad because they could have made a mess on my patio. Why they chose my patio, I have no idea. Alan said that they liked my patio and appreciated all the pretty flowers.....I guess!
Diane, I love your bunny squirrel. LOL Those ibis look like a good sized bird. Hope you have a great new week there. It's going to be hot here. Today was hot and windy. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Hi Diane,
Enjoy your little critters friends!
Nothing special here except a cute little hedgehog that the neighbourhood cats are wise enough not to annoy.
Take care of yourself,
Arlette
