The lost Sandpiper

I'm sharing a few photos from my walks to the pond this week. We had a very unusual visitor!

 A Sandpiper!

He was on the golf course!

We don't live on the beach. We live in North Central Florida so this was the first time I've ever seen a Sandpiper here. We've seen them at Canaveral National Seashore but not this far inland.

The Little Blue Heron flew in while I was there. He fluffed his feathers when he landed.

A pretty duck was in the water....

and a family of Moorhens.

But a Sandpiper? I never!!!!

I'm having a Giveaway! If you would like to enter, click HERE to go to the Giveaway post!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

Maybe he/she was trying to get away from Hurricane Harvey? Also, I love the Open Library you mentioned but I can't get it to download to my Kindle which is on my pc and also on my tablet. It gets an error. Are you able to? Is it just certain books? Have a great Saturday!

Hello, the Sandpiper is beautiful. Lovely collection of birds and photos. I always love the Little Blue Heron. Great seeing the family of Moorhens. There are some Sandpipers that are found inland, maybe the Solitary Sandpiper or a young Spotted? They are both found near streams or ponds. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Diane, You sure have some pretty photos. I like that the bird came to see you. Wonder if all the winds maybe blew him off course. That heron is adorable. Blessings for a fun filled weekend, xoxo, Susie

Hello Diane!:) Great bird sightings, especially the Sandpiper, but it was fun seeing the Little Blue Heron again. Enjoy your weekend Diane, and I hope it is stress free.

What a sweet Sandpiper. I don't see them around my neck of the woods.

Wishing you a pleasant weekend, Diane.

I guess you take water wherever you can get it! And it's certainly attracting the wildlife!

So funny! I'm looking forward to watching those silly birds in less than a month now for our annual visit to the island! I love the sandpipers -- they are so amusing to watch. But then I'm fascinated by seagulls too haha!

Sandpipers are my favorite of the shorebirds. Maybe he is displaced by weather. Your photos of the other feathered friends are great. Have a nice holiday. ♥

The hurricanes may be disorienting the birds right now. If I lived on the east coast, I am sure that I would be disoriented about now. I pray that Irma will go away. Stay safe down there.

I wonder if the storms blew that little shorebird off coarse and onto your (golf) course! Nice sightings all around!

You'll have to see if you see that little sandpiper again. Maybe he hopped a ride from the beach!

What a cute little bird - seems lots of places are getting misplaced birds these days. There is a swallowtail seagull in the Seattle area - they are usually in the Galapagos Islands. Lots of people are flocking there to get photos and are disturbing the poor bird. I'm happy to just see the photos of it - it is gorgeous. Plus it is a long, ugly drive to Seattle - 3 to 4 hours to go 90 miles - no thank you.

Love the Little Blue Heron - I'd never seen one before. Wonderful photos.

Hope your Labor Day is fabulous my dear.
