Christmas Pixies and Flocked Deer

I remember these cute little pixies in our decorations when I was a little girl.

pixieIMG_0222[4]

So I’ve collected them over the years.

ChristmasDeco

And this year, Hobby Lobby came out with some with the same sweet faces.

You can find them all over my house this month!

I’ve also loved the old fashioned deer and always make a little display of them in our entry.

Christmas brings back good memories of my childhood.

It’s fun to spend Christmas in Florida and we usually drive to the beach for the day. One year, I took a pixie with me!

I like to make a few new traditions as the years go by. Nothing stays the same, does it? It’s nice to hang on to our good memories but always be open to making new ones!

I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE .

Have a wonderful week!

I'll be enjoying the pixies over here from now on. As part of my downsizing, most of my collection has been sold on Ebay. Hard to believe, isn't it? I did, however, keep a few of my very favorites.

Who knew your pixies would be so popular again with the ELF thing? I love the idea of adding new traditions. There have been several times in our lives when things change. You can either moan and groan about missing the old days or adjust and make new traditions. I am going with adjusting.

Thanks for sharing your holiday memories and your elf/pixies are too cute! Happy Monday!

Your pixie collection is adorable. I have a few who lurk in my home at Christmas! It's a lovely time of the year and always good to make new memories and start new traditions. Merry Christmas Sis!

Diane, I love this post! So uplifting and funny, the little elf at the beach made me chuckle.
Sorry it's a flying visit from me this week but I still haven't shaken off this cold.
Happy MM.

Love your elves. I used to collect fairies but no more----I have enough but if I see one with the right face I may have to have it. I like the little edge sitters

I love all your pretty Christmas decorations, Diane! I have one of these Pixies and my oldest granddaughter thinks he is the "Elf on the Shelf" that her classmates talk about, so she looks forward to coming to my house to see what antics the pixie is up to! That means I have to move him around and make him do funny things..lol Right now he is hanging on my Advent Calendar. Next, he might be playing the piano! It's fun!

Christmas brings all kinds of memories to the fore, doesn't it? It's the old things we treasure as mementos of childhood. As you've said, it's important, too, to make new traditions and embrace the now, as well. Love the elf on the beach photo!

Lovely post Diane,

You are so right! It’s good to keep the old traditions as long as we can while not going all to pieces if something happens to prevent that. And it’s good to have new ones! Tomorrow is my Cup of Christmas Tea Party and I love hosting all my sweet friends. Wish you could be here. Please email your address to me, I would love to send you a Christmas card. That’s a tradition I have picked up again this year!
Love LOVE love all your wee elves!

Hi Diane, oh how fun to collect the pixies. I love Christmas and thinking about all of the wonderful memories too. So nice to be able to go to the beach too.
It's so cold here and we had a few inches of snow on Saturday. It's starting to melt but seems perfect for Decmeber weather.
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Julie

Love that you took your pixie with you! I love the old traditions but also like making new ones. I went to Hobby Lobby but it was pretty picked over here already. I did snag two elves that someone had set down in a different dept and abandoned them. Their loss? My gain!

Have a great week- xo Diana

Diane, your pixies are darling. I remember them well. Your's looks right at home at the beach! A pixie after my heart! ♥

Diane - those pixies look pretty sneaky. Who knows what they'll get up to before Christmas? I like the sailboat and sand dollar in the midst of your holiday decorations to remind us that Christmas is not always cold and snowy!

Cute! I too have a weakness for deer.

Your pixies are delightful. I haven't been to Hobby Lobby lately, and would love to see some new ones. Your deer display is precious also with all the trees. What a cute picture of your pixie at the beach. It looks like he may be a special one to you. ; )

We had those too. I'm sure they are all long gone which is sad since they're so retro and fun to have now. Last year we were at the beach on St. Simons on Christmas but sadly, not this year. We will be here. In the cold. And snow. Boo Hoo. No pixie would want to be here haha!

You make things such fun, you must be very fun to be around! Your Pixie's are sweet and I too remember the flocked animals. When I was a girl, I could never have imagined or believed the wealth of things available today....and lol, in my craft room alone!

Diane, at this stage in life we have no choice but to change and make new memories. Right? Our kids have grown and are doing their own thing...our parents need help or have passed on. Every time we turn (my husband and I) things are different but we are always happy to be here and be together. Your little pixies are adorable!

Thanks for your sweet comment on the encouragement post. I want to tell you that you always inspire me!! You are kind at every turn. Your hikes, your nature observations, and your time with your husband are examples of the way we like to live. It makes me feel happy to see those things.

Very cute...and we can use those warm southern hugs up here in the Northeast! When it came time to sell our parents home, I was able to "extract" some of my fave old glass ornaments from those early Christmas days, since my 4 siblings were not really interested. I treasure them to this day, and store them in a little "hand me down" box for my own children! Have a wonderful holiday season! Fa la la...and all that jazz! Aloha!

Diane, I love all your festive pixies and your deer. I never thought of collecting deer. I wish I had because I think they are so graceful and sweet. I saw a YouTube video of them eating out of the hand of a farmer. I loved that!

It is so cold here today. I will not have to go outside till Friday to meet with my surgeon. Finally, I think it is going to happen in January.

Howdy there Diane, I love your pixies and how you've arranged them.....so so cute! I do remember those from our childhood, and I love the little old fashioned reindeer too, they are so cute! Im always on the lookout for them in the thrift stores. We often go to the beach on Christmas day as well!--and yes, I love my memories but we do have to be open to new things and making new traditions, which sounds like you've done exactly that, and I do as well.

Hi! Oh I loved those littles too. I am not a huge fan of this elf on the shelf but as a child, I loved those magical pixies. SO cute and clever that you have them peeking around the house. I love it! HUGS
