Our Little Blue Heron is…..

BLUE!

littleblueIMG_5857

Finally he turned a beautiful shade of indigo blue!

littleblueIMG_5853

We were so thrilled to see him and had to look extra hard to find him among the lush plants along the river’s edge.

But this is the same area we always see him.

Well except back in October 2017 he was a Juvenile and he looked like THIS!

And even March 10, 2018 he was still white! We hiked Blue Run Park three times in March and he was white every time!

It’s been fun to follow him for several months and watch him change.

Now he is the most beautiful BLUE and he will stay blue.

Right Eileen and Anni?

Below are photos of a couple of White Ibis.

They have bright orange and red beaks and legs. (their breeding colors)

The water looked neat with the sun shining through the leaves.

We love this particular hike! You are always surrounded by beauty!

Isn't he gorgeous? How wonderful that you have been able to follow him from babyhood to his adult coloring.
Have a great day- We have up to 18" of snow coming---up to about 7 or 8" right now. UGH! xo Diana

Diane, I love the color of your little bird. He really has grown too. He was pretty while he was white even. My sister and I used to watch for a couple of wrens when we would sit by the creek during our walks. They always came to the same trees and sang awhile. It's fun to have something to watch for while walking. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Diane, these photos are stunning. I had no idea that the blue heron was born--hatched--white. And your photos of him are so good.

He is so pretty. You are blessed to see him again.

My husband told me to tell you that he just finished a good book you might like. It is called The Discovery, by Dan Walsh.

Blessings to you!

How lovely to watch and photograph the heron through its changes. No birdwatching here, except through windows, as we are getting a huge and inwekcome ice storm.

Blue is beautiful. Will he stay in the area or do they move on? That is so neat you have been able to watch him grow up.
