And they are growing all around the Lavender Cottage this Spring.
(and yes, a few are PINK!)
My sweet husband started planting Knock Out Roses a couple of years ago and we now have 40 rose bushes!
They are blooming beautifully this Spring.
I went back and ‘collected’ a few photos that I’ve taken recently AND in years past to share.
They make some of the prettiest mosaics.
So I’ll include those too.
Knock Out Roses grow and bloom well here in North Central Florida.
I think that is the key to growing beautiful flowers….finding out what grows best in your location.
We saw lots of these growing in our neighborhood and one evening when we were riding our bikes, we stopped and asked a neighbor what type roses they were. And that’s how we got started replacing old plants and shrubs with red roses.
I’m joining the Garden Party HERE
and Thankful Thursdays too!

WOW 40 rose bushes, I envy you. I have one little yellow bush. I plan on having more at our next home. Your roses are so pretty.
Beautiful.
Happy Weekend, it's finally going to be a no rain day - yippee.
Your 'knock-out roses' look more like traditional roses than ours. Ours grow well, but must be a different variety. We had two plants but one didn't make it through our winter. Hope you have a sweet day!
I've considered roses. But they're a bit more effort than I'm up to, I think. :]
wow, 40 buses and your knockouts are knockouts to view, as are your photos. so beautiful
They are so beautiful and I'm jealous! We have a virus that has spread around North Texas like wildfire! It is slowly but surely killing most of the roses. I did just plant one rose at our new house yesterday. Keeping fingers crossed and saying a few prayers.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful Knockouts at the garden party. :)
Wow, they are stunning! I have a small rose garden, but only one is a red knock out rose. It was gifted to me by our son and daughter in law. They really do perform beautifully! Love your mosaics!! Thanks for sharing with the garden link party.
hugs,
Jann
Your roses are so pretty, Diane. I love how you used a sugar bowl as a vase to showcase your blossoms. I used to have knockout roses, but they got the dreaded disease. They were beautiful while they lasted.
Have fun in your garden!
They look lovely! Those are exactly what we have around the foundation of the back of the house - and I'll warn you we've had trouble with mold and bugs and fungus. They advertise them as easy - and at least in New England - they aren't all that easy, but sure are pretty. Perhaps in your climate they are less finicky.
Your knockout roses make quite the impact. Gorgeous! In our area the English David Austen roses do well, probably because our climate is very similar to England's. Mine are not nearly ready to bloom yet, though, so I'll just admire yours.
We have knockout roses here also. Mom has three across the front of her house and I have one. They are blooming like crazy right now! So pretty!
Wow 40 bushes! Knockouts are amazing. Our bushes along our driveway have grown to well over our heads and are a nice divider to give privacy to our neighbors' back yard. I love to cut and bring indoors but they only last a day or two and then they are knocked--or worn--out.
Knock out roses are the best and yours are so beautifully managed. They sure do add a lot of color.
Have a great weekend.
We won't see roses for another two months so thanks for sharing them here! They're beautiful!
They are just wonderful! I don't see roses over here in this part of Florida ... I think you have the best of both worlds!!
Love your blog today, so happy spring.
I saw you title, "roses are red" and rushed right over here hehehe. Oh my, the red roses are coming along nicely. I really like that collage you made with the roses, vase, and white bunnies. So glad to hear they're doing well, Diane. They look terrific along the side of your lavender house. Now, is the last collage Pink roses or just red roses that faded? This is such a lovely post today.

What a beautiful post!
So very pretty, and I know it must smell wonderful as you pass by all those beautiful blooms!
That's a lovely lot of Roses ...
Such beautiful colour and wonderful blooms.
Have a lovely weekend.
All the best Jan
Louis Dean just today said he wants to plant some knock out roses! A couple of years ago, some disease or insect killed most of the rose bushes in the Dallas area. The Knock Outs were especially hit hard. We lost only one bush but we didn't have any og the knock out ones. Roses are LD's very favorite and he loves the long stemmed American Beauties of which we have several but you can't find them in nurseries to buy any more because everyone wanted the Knock Outs. So this year he is joining the club!!
Yours are so gorgeous!!!
40 bushes! How wonderful! I had knockout roses in our front bed up until this past summer. They began to limp along for some reason, so I took them out. Still trying to decide what to replace them with, and I just might do roses again. You are inspieing me!
Diane, Your roses are beautiful. I love them. You have found the perfect plant . Love all the mosaics. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Oh so beautiful!!! I adore roses, and while many people grow them here in NW WA, we can't grow them in our yard because it is so shady from the woods across the street, but I enjoy them in other yards whenever I see them.
I love knock out roses, especially when used as a privacy hedge because some varieties can get really big. It looks like you have a few double knock out roses, and I wish we'd planted more of them. LOVE this post!!!
Absolutely fabulous!Hugs!
Wow! They are so pretty!
Your roses are gorgeous :)
Your roses look wonderful! I've just gotten into 'carpet roses' in the past couple of years. I live in s.e. FL zone 10. We do have to find roses that do well for our zones/areas. I have quite a few of the old-fashioned varieties also, quite hardy and smell wonderful.
Happy Gardening ~ FlowerLady
I adore knock out roses - I had a lovely patch right up against the house in my previous home, but so far have had no luck with them on the mountain top in my new home. I think the climate may be just too harsh.
