Spring is a Wild Time in Florida!

We have so many birds that migrate through Florida and Springtime is the perfect time to see unusual sights!

I’ve seen several Eagles in the past couple of weeks.

When I was walking across the parking lot at the Farmer’s Market last week, I saw an Eagle flying in and out of a large flock of Egrets.

I guess he was saying ‘stay out of my territory’!

AMAZING!

I’m glad I had my good camera with me. I ‘threw’ my fresh fruit and veggies in the trunk and grabbed my camera. Florida strawberries….don’t get smushed by the sweet potatoes! lol

I drove over to Sholom Park which is right next door and as soon as I got out of the car, I saw a flock of dark birds HIGH in the sky!

I think they are Coots! Which is pretty amazing!

Migrating Coots!

I also saw a pair of Swallowtail Kites at Sholom. YAY! They are nesting there again this year!

Diane, So exciting seeing the eagle...I thought it odd he was flying around the egrets...was he sizing them up for lunch? :):) I love the sign at the park. Blessings for a fabulous weekend, xoxo, Susie

Hello, I like the sign and message. Awesome sighting of the eagle. Love the flock of egrets too. Could the darker birds be Cormorants? I would love some fresh Strawberries, yum! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. I also appreciate your comment and visit. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

You can replace the strawberries, but you might not see these birds again for a while, especially since they are migrating ... I think you prioritized well!

Very nice Diane! Wonderful pictures. The kites are just starting to come back here -- I see them, but could never get such a good picture.... thanks for this.

Love the picture of the eagle flying!! Yesterdays flowers-- could they be lenten roses???

Great shots! A large part of being a good photographer is having a camera available for great opportunities like this.

Yes, spring is a great time to watch visible migration. I'd love to see a Swallowtail Kite.

I think your coots are cormorants Diane.

No English strawberries here yet, just migrants from Spain!

Around here coots are year 'round! They're everywhere. I don't think I've ever seen this number in flight tho!

For sharing with us at I'd Rather B Birdin', I thank you!!
