They weren’t together but we saw them both on a hike at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon.
The Golden Dragonfly was the first sighting on the day…
at the beginning of the trail.
We had never seen one so large!
I cropped this one so that you could see the details in his wings.
And it’s pretty rare for us to get a good sighting of the Wood Ducks that swim in the swamp side of the trail.
We usually hear them and sometimes get a glimpse of them swimming.
But they stay back in the Cypress trees in dark areas that are hard to photograph.
This photo shows the little swirl…showing where he’s swimming.
And now I’ll show you one..
right after another…
to give you a good idea of how beautiful they were…
once upon a hike….
at Blue Run Park!
What a magical day!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

it truly is magical, both dragonfly and wood duck are so beautifully detailed in their design and colors.
Diane, I absolutely love the great shots of the dragonfly. You did a wonderful job showing the wings. The wood ducks marking look amazing. What a beautiful creature. Blessings for a fun weekend. xoxo, Susie
Your wood ducks are wonderful. The photos are so good. I have a passion for wood ducks. We have them in Colorado, but not this far north. We have dragon flies, especially with the pond and they are fun to watch and photograph. Lucky you to have such beautiful places to hike and enjoy.
Great photos of the dragonfly! Gorgeous!!

Oh my, what fantastic photos. The dragonfly is so special, dainty and fragile. How wonderful to spot two of them. And the wood ducks - I could never get enough of them. I've never seen one, though I hear there are some at a pond not far from here, but we've never been there at the right time. Hope your weekend is wonderful my dear - we have rain and 54 degrees - after a week of sunshine. Adore your header!
Magical indeed! Great photos of the dragonflies and those ducks are gorgeous!

Amazing detail of the lacy dragonfly wings. The look so delicate.
Those wood ducks have such beautiful coloring. A perfect name for them because they look like they've been carved out of wood.
wow, lovely details on that closeup of the dragonfly! They are amazing aren't they! The ducks are beautiful too...in a couple photos they almost don't look real! You got some nice, up close and personal shots! Impressive! Hope all is well Diane...I've been away from blogland for a while. Just starting to catch up! Have anice weekend,
