I’d like to concentrate on some of the beautiful birds I’ve seen this month.
Isn’t this Pelican pretty surrounded by Flamingos?
And how about this Great White Egret in flight!
The Black Crowned Night Heron is always eye catching…
and this Ibis has lots of dark feathers. (maybe a young one?)
My timing on showing ‘wild animals’ was bad last Saturday considering the terrible news of the lady that was killed by an Alligator here in Florida. My heart goes out to her family.
Alligators are dangerous and we have to realize that they are going to act like a wild animal and we have to constantly be on our guard. I still feel very blessed to get out in nature and see these amazing critters. But I am always careful. And to tell you the truth, we are more likely to come across snakes than anything else. Of course that doesn’t make me feel any better. I’ll keep hiking and spending time photographing nature though. It’s worth the risk! Or at least it is for me!
Did you get outside this week with your camera?
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

I loved the Pelican amid the Flamingos. So pretty.
Diane, The first picture of the Pelican surrounded by flamingos...looks like a beautiful floral bouquet. LOL I always love seeing your nature shots. I know by now you know what is wild and scary and what is safe and how to get pictures without endangering yourself. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
GREAT pictures! The Pelican is just lovely :)

It's mid-June and not miserable-hot yet. Amazing. Nice still to get out and get those beautiful Florida shots.
:)
Hello, I love the pelican with the flamingos. Great capture of the Night Heron and Juvenile White Ibis. The water lily is beautiful, lovely flowers.
It is sad about the woman killed by the gator, I was spooked a few times when they were near. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend.
my favorites today are the night heron and the lily pads. all the photos are wonderful... I love flamingos and pelicans are my favorite of all birds
The photo of the pelican and flamingos is gorgeous but even much more enhanced by the beautiful reflections in the water. Great shot.
Such beautiful birds! What beautiful creatures you would miss seeing if you did don’t take the risk. But be careful! I had not heard about the lady......so sad. We watch for snakes here but thankfully I don’t see many. There’s a page on Facebook called What Kind of Snake is This? I’m trying to learn to identify the good ones from the bad ones. I see I miss your post on thrifting so I’m off to see your treasures!
Being a Flamingo fan, the first photo made me smile. Stay safe as you hike and take photos but enjoy it also!! Hugs!
Wonderful photos of our 'feathered friends' ~ flamingos are quite colorful!
Happy Weekend to you,

You've shared some wonderful photographs here.
I do like the colour of the flamingo's … funny how there is just the one pelican in the photograph!
Have a good weekend.
All the best Jan

Beautiful!! I love seeing the birds.
Florida does have some beautiful bird life, and you always take the best photos! Love those flamingos; they have such a wonderful colour. The only place I got outside to this week was my garden and neighbourhood. We hope to go for a good walk this weekend.
Lots of awesome shots! Love the pelican and flamingos!
I didn't get out this week because of the smoke from the fires.Last week on our walk at the lake I did see a Bald Eagle. Your bird and flower pictures are wonderful!
I'm so sorry to hear about the lady who was killed by the alligator in Florida. That's terrible. The picture of the Pelican with the Flamingos is sooooo pretty, Diane. The Pelican is unusual looking and SO BIG and pretty. And the Great White Egret in flight is a lovely picture.
Did I get outside this week with my camera?.....although I'm taking a little break from blogging, I get out every day with my trusted camera. Too much beauty in the world not to. : ) I think you're brave to get so close to these wild animals, Diane.

Beautiful photos. Sometimes nature can be frightening and we have to realize they are animals. I am horrified of snakes. I am alway in the lookout.
I am in love with all your photos. Each one is more beautiful than the one before. I especially like your pelican and flamingos. I hope you print that one and frame it.
Oh how heartbreaking...I had not heard.
Beautiful birds...the flamingos are truly lovely. Are they as graceful as they look?
Hi Diane,
Such beautiful photos you have shared and love seeing all the beauty in nature.
As for the alligators and snakes, you really would not want to encounter seeing either of those.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend
hugs
Carolyn
i have been out a lot this week, always with camera in hand. but truth be told, i have my best sightings right here at home!!
the birds are beautiful down there and you got some really amazing pictures this week. i also really like your new header!!!
I did get outside with my camera. Love your photos!
Beautiful photos of the wildlife in your area. I really love wildlife of all kinds and like to see it up close when I can (which isn't often). Of course safety is paramount. Your bird life is very exotic and wonderful.
Oh yes...yes!! That top photo of the pelican surrounded by flamingos...extraordinary!!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us bird watchers this week! Always appreciated.
So sad about the death of the lady! Wild animals do what they do but sometimes we are damaged or killed by them, and that is always so tragic! But we can't blame the wild animal, of course. Lovely photos! I loved the water lily!
Hi,
I did not hear about the lady who was killed? What happened?
I am sorry. It is so hard as we continue to move into animals habitats. We all have to do our best. Black Bear can be a pain for our area. We have to take caution and we do.
My sister has wolves that have killed neighbor dogs. She has to be very careful about where her dogs go and they must be on a leash.
Praying for all .. I do love your photos.
Carla
That first shot is a dandy.

Hi there Diane and so glad you stopped by.......thank you for your sweet compliment but everything I had on that day except for my leggings I think was just stuff from thrift stores, ha ha ha LOL....nothing fancy for sure. I even got my fringe purse at the thrift store, it still had the tags on it!! and I had on my old beat up loafers. But thank you anyway and I don't think you EVER LOOK JUNKY on your walks...I always think you look so cute! Hope you've had a real nice weekend. Mercy it was hot here!!
Now that's a collection -- and they are so beautiful, every bird and flower!
There's risk in every activity - I find awareness is the first and most important advantage … and yes, I am always out and about with my camera - and I have my trail cam to catch what I don't! Such lovely shots in this post - my favorite is the heron in flight with the reflection! Enjoy the rest of your week!
