Enter the Wild Side of Florida!

It’s very cool to go to Homosassa Wildlife Park and see all of the wildlife that we have in this part of Florida. And maybe take a walk with a Stork!

It’s quite another to see photos of wild animals captured on motion-activated cameras on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway trail that you hike regularly….by yourself! This article was in the Ocala Good Life Magazine this month and I want to thank them for the article and give them credit for this photo that accompanied the article. When I mention I’ve hiked on the Florida Trails….this is the one I’m on! Keep the camera handy, right? You can read the entire magazine HERE!

The wildlife from Homosassa Wildlife is safer AND easier to capture.

Alligators!

Looks like a fun place to visit. After hearing the news this morning about the woman killed by an alligator, not so interested in seeing one in person. Enjoyed your post.

I love this post. I would like to see the animals at the park but not on the trail I am hiking on. this is amazing, right where you walk. wow... one of my favorite blogs is Romping and Rolling in the Rockies, she has amazing animals in the wild, today is a mountain lion, she lives with them and has trail cams catching them in real life, bears and lions... https://romp-roll-rockies.blogspot.com/

Hello, Homosassa Wildlife park is an awesome place to see the Florida's wildlife. Your photos are awesome. I love the Wood Stork on the boardwalk. The bear, cougar and bobcat are some of my favorites. Neat capture of the Wood duck with the gator. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.

That duck sure is brave to swim past that ferocious alligator, Yikes! I always love to see the animals of the wild, but at the same time a little sad that they're not out there roaming free.....especially that black bear. The Bobcat has watchful eyes, doesn't he? Great pics, Diane.

Such beautiful photos, the animals look lovely and healthy!!!I love all the critters but we watched a documentary last night about the explosion of pythons in Florida eating the birds and small animals,, that is rather unsettling,, hope an answer is soon found to solve that, those snakes were huge on the program and the man had caught 900 this year alone!! Apparently the climate is prefect for them,,it actually showed alligators fighting with the python,, amazing!!!

Wonderful critter photos - but do stay away from those alligators - the news is too scary!!! And the pythons - oh how I worry about you. Hope your week is great though - and enjoy your beautiful area - cautiously please.

Hi there Diane, well we've had a real busy with family kind of week here, so I'm busy trying to catch up with everybody. Loved your previous walking the neighborhood post too! Wow--the sign with the animals...I'd be scared to meet up WITH ANY OF THOSE ANIMALS!! LOL They are sure fun to see from a distance though. Is the alligator picture yours?--it's a good one and look at his eye!--looks like he's looking right over at you. Hope your'e having a real good weekend. Ours has been low key and doing things around the house and grocery shopping. We've had alot of rain the past few days and the gardens are sure loving it and growing SO FAST! Are your roses till in bloom? My miniature roses are blooming and we have little tomatoes now! My ferns and sweet "tater" vines are loving all the rain and our hydrangeas are in full bloom too. Well, guess I'll go try to post something now, ha ha ha LOL

Wow, don't think I'd want to meet a few of those if I were by myself! Love the stork picture :) Hope you're having a great weekend!

One 'gator from Florida is on the nat'l news this week. I'm not so sure I'd stop to take a photo of them any more if they're close. I haven't seen a wood stork yet this season. Soon maybe?

Thanks for linking in this weekend.

OMG...What an awesome series of critters!

It's a good thing most of those animals want to avoid meeting you on the trail as you want to avoid meeting them. Yikes! Who knew Florida was so full of wildlife?

Wow, you're so lucky to live in an area so blessed with wildlife! Great photos!

LOVE trail cameras - they show us so much about what goes on when we are not looking!!! My husband recently showed my a YouTube video of an alligator that came up on shore and took a man's fish right off the hook. I have never seen an alligator move so fast! So that duck should keep it's distance - like another body of water, even!
