“The Little Free Library”

I went online to find out where some of the Little Free Libraries were and ‘lo and behold’….there was one in a building next to the Farmer’s Market I go to every Thursday! It’s inside the building so I had no idea!

This community is called “On Top of the World” and has classes for seniors called Master the Possibilities.

I walked in with my book bag and a book by one of my favorite authors to leave for someone else.

I took Images of America Deerfield Beach. I’ve never been there so I’m looking forward to reading it.

The room was beautiful and a nice place to relax and read a book.

They had some neat displays too!

I love these featuring the history of our area.

Do you have a Little Free Library near you? Go online and find out!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays.

I love seeing the Little Free Libraries all around, Diane. There is one near us that is much smaller than your's, and is outdoors, but always full of wonderful subjects. I've often thought it would be nice to make one for our neighborhood. Your header is beautiful. What a lovely spot! ♥

We have talked of putting one up here in our community. So glad people are sharing their books.

I love the idea! There used to be an online paperback book swap site; I lost touch with it over the years, once I converted to Kindle for the larger print.

Still, it will be on my retirement list of things to check into! Thanks for making me aware of the possibilities, and that's a super one!

We have one up at the lake on my walking path. I need to take some books down there. I am thinking of seeing what it takes to have one in your yard. I would do one at home, I think, if I could. I've been pondering it.

I have seen a few but none really close by. There is one at a restaurant I go to and it mostly has children's books in it. They are great fun and a wonderful way to share books!!

We do have a few free libraries around town and one of them is in a friend's yard. They are SO cute and such a good idea! I do all my reading on my Kindle now and don't have books gather dust anymore. I used to be in not one, not two, but three book clubs. The free libraries make much more sense!! Let us know how you like the Deerfield book!!

We have a free little library in Steveston, British Columbia. We also have a give and take book exchange in our recreational building where I live. It's such a good idea!

I just adore this idea. I saw one along the sidewalk in our rental's neighborhood. I like holding a book, being able to flip back with a question, the soft white of a page instead of digital books. I know I'm a dinosaur but that's the way it is.

I'm not sure if there are any free libraries around here or not. We do have a public library right down the street from me. These days I do all my reading on my kindle and I only read free books

I love the Little Free Libraries! I know where three of them are in Tupelo, and I am slowly getting rid of my huge collection of books by donating them there. And yes, sometimes I find one I want to read and bring it home with me.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

That looks pretty amazing. I'm used to see little cupboards along neighborhood roads with a tiny lending library.

Great idea! Our home town in Iowa have the "free" library where you take a book and leave a book. It's one of the best ideas ever!

What a lovely place. I don't think we have one here, but our library moved to a new building and I have never been there. You inspired me to visit it. With my Kindle, I don't read print books much any more. But still love them a lot.

Those free libraries are wonderful. I've seen some in North Carolina when I've visited there and some in our Upper Peninsula. I think it's a great idea. Kind of gives a nice community feeling. xo Deborah

These are fantastic ideas and seem to be in lots of places. We have a little garden walkway that just started a free library with benches to sit and read!

We do not have one, but we live in the wetland! We donate books a lot to the town library, though.

I see them all the time since I read your post on libraries a little while ago!! And I've taken a few pictures .. we have a BIG free library just a couple of blocks away from us here in Eugene and I love going there. Any library is wonderful -- big or small.
