Since my favorite color is blue and it's found so much in nature, I guess feeling blue is a good thing for me. I have felt a little sorry for myself this week because it's been too hot to hike. I took advantage of the weather to clean...clean...clean! I've been getting rid of things that feel like 'too much'. And I took a big donation to the Hospice Thrift store yesterday. That felt great!
But back to the blue in nature.
The last time I was at the Pruitt Trailhead of the Florida Trails, I watched a flock of birds fly from one side of the trail to the other.
I caught glimpses of blue but couldn't tell what they were until I looked at my photos.
They appear to be young Blue Jays.
It was hard to see them through the leaves on the trees.
This is the tree I was looking up into!!! We could play a game of 'find the blue jays'! heehee
Oh and looking up HIGH in the sky overhead I saw this flock of large birds flying North. I'm zoomed with my camera and the photo is cropped! They flew behind the clouds...above the clouds!
Any ideas on what they might be?

I think we all have too much "stuff" and need to get rid of a whole lot of it, especially if it can be of use to others.
Hello,
Hubby and I have donated a lot of things, trying to downsize. I love the pretty blue sky and the Blue Jays. I am guessing your flock of birds to be the White Ibis, but I could be wrong. Great post and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, wishing you a happy weekend! PS, thank you for the visit and comment.
...this is the kind of blue to feel.
No clue what those are in the last picture, but I love your young bluejays. They are so pretty. You made good use of your blue times. I tend to get lazy:)
When you get some time you could come help me go through my stuff, I keep telling myself, I will when the weather cools. ha ha
Love your blues today, blue jays are such noise makers, but they are beautiful to look at.
Have a great weekend.
Sue
Oh I know the feeling of “too much.” Fifteen tablecloths are in the car trunk awaiting a drop-off at Goodwill. Some of them are vintage...actually were on my mother’s table in my childhood...I pause, yet decide that someone will love them. It doesn’t have to be me. Freedom! 😁 Almost as good as a hike.
Blue is my favourite colour too! AriadnefromGreece!
we have lots of blue in the sky, will have to pay attention to see if I see other blue. the jays are gone with all the other birds but there is a blue house on our street. a good case of blues that ends up with stuff gone to the thrift store
The blue jays are nice to see. That is a big tree! Having recently moved, we donated so much and gifted some to a young couple with a new baby. Less stuff is much easier to keep clean!
I ought to clean my household, too! Just lacking the inspiration now, I hope November is good time for that! It is the dullest month of the year here: dark, wet, rain, rain.... Lovely blue jays!
You remind me of something I already know-- I must start to seriously de-clutter. We are getting out to walk 45 minutes or more before sunrise to escape the worst of the heat. My problem is that I stay out 2 - 2 1/2 hours and it is already like an oven. The birds have very slim wings, unlike wading birds. I suspect they may be seabirds such as gulls but must stop there!
I always enjoy seeing the wildlife you photograph. Sorry I haven’t been around in awhile. It has been a whirlwind summer.
Thank you for stopping by my place old friend.....Janey
I enjoyed seeing the blue-jays, but, sorry, I have no idea what those birds are in your last photograph.
Well done on your sorting out, I have a lot of books to take to our 'charity shops' soon.
Enjoy your weekend
All the best Jan
Blue birds are so nice to see. Blue is a beautiful colour.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great Sunday!
I love the jays, and the sky. The birds? I don't know. They are lovely, though. I have a check around! I'm curious, now!
I like your squirrels, in the previous post, and your trail.
I've had two good outdoor work days, with the lower temperatures and rain.
They almost look like gulls!
Diane, I love blue jays. Some people do not like their call, saying they are pushy birds. But when I hear their calls, I am taken back to my jr. high homeroom....where the teacher would have the big windows open and you could hear they jays as a cool breeze came into the room. I loved it. It was peaceful to me. Blessings to you ,hope you get to hike this weekend, xoxo, love, Susie
My guess for the flock would be either cormorants, my first thought, or frigate birds? (Man ‘o war)
Look like sea birds. Nice blue jay captures
Beautiful blue jay pics. Well done on donating things you don't need. I think lots of people go through that stage at sometime. Enjoy the weekend!
Birds flying north? It's about time for them to all be heading south! Go figure! The baby blues are so pretty! I have no idea what the flying birds are... big birds! :)
I love your blue jay pictures. They are such a pretty bird.
Good for you getting rid of things. I'm trying to do the same.
Oh, I love bluejays....I would give my left foot to be given the opportunity to see and photograph them in the wild....;)
Thanks for leaving me a comment on 'Richmond Down Under'

I would guess a kind of gull with the pointed mid-wing & beak shape. But just A GUESS. Love blue Jays ...we have none in our area.
Happy day, and thanks for sharing this post with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend.
PReciosas fotografías de los pájaros,me encantan!!
Every so often we have a clear out. I can't imagine what the house would be like if we didn't. I think those birds are gulls but can't be certain.
i get a little blue when i don't get to do the things i enjoy!!
i love trees and leaves but boy do they put a damper on getting pictures of the birds!! it is a beautiful tree!!
the birds look like seagulls to me but they don't usually fly in flocks like that!!
My favorite color is also blue.
I love blue Jays.
Best regards, Irma
Oh so lovely ~ all of your nature photos ~ Cleaning out always feels good ~ Bravo to you!
Happy Day to You,

Lovely set of photos. We have also been having a clear-out!!! Have a great week, Diane
Birds do love to play hide and seek!
Hope you are having a great day!
Well at least you made good use of your blue time until you could get out on the trails again.
I had a little pity party this week, too. I'm not able to walk as much as I had been doing and I was feeling quite sorry for myself. I'm aiming for other types of exercise and to focus on how much I can do. Wishes for a great week and keep cool!
Cleaning always cheers me up as well. The sort of thing only a blogger would understand.

First, I love your blog header. Even the young Blue Jays are keeping to the shade. Over here, the weather is also hot and I am staying home most of the time. Have a good new week!
I have been studying the image of the flock of birds in flight and as a couple of others have commented above they are probably gulls, certainly seabirds in any event. I had toyed with the notion that they might be frigatebirds, but I have pretty much abandoned that notion. Do you even see frigatebirds in the part of Florida where you reside?
I wonder if those are geese! They sometimes fly in flocks. The young blue jay is sweet, and I see them around here all the time. Their bird song is loud and sometimes too loud, and they are always first to take any bites I throw down. They seem to take it and come back for more, leaving little for the other birds. It's wonderful that you gave some of your things to Hospice Thrift store. And it's always a good feeling to de-clutter, isn't it?
Have a wonderful week, Diane.

ps....it's good to know your favorite color is blue. I always thought it was lavender. : )
The blue jays are great ... I have a post started that I’m calling Oregon Blues, with sky, blueberries, Oregon Grape ... but im waiting for an Oregon blue jay to put in it. (Someday I will be back to blogging about Oregon ...probably about the time we leave for Florida!). But we are getting out and taking pictures...and it is cool weather for us. ...... I’m always working at weeding out and simplifying. It’s a constant battle.
I had to read every comment to see if anyone knew what the flock birds were. My guess would also be some kind of seagull, not that I am an expert about sea birds since I am from Tennessee. I am only guessing.
