Special sightings this week!

You can look up in the sky and see that more people are traveling now! Lots of contrails from the airplanes high in the sky flying to Florida destinations. That was one thing we noticed during the pandemic, how few planes were in the sky.

My hubby and I are not 'free to travel' yet but we did get to meet a traveler at the trailhead of my favorite section of the Florida Trails, Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

My youngest son traveled through and we hiked together! (and yes I have a mask in my hand for hugging! Moms have to hug, it's just who we are!!!)

That sure lifted our spirits to get to spend time with him.

And he had a chance to ride his mountain bike on some of the trails here too.

This Pileated Woodpecker was in the tree behind our house this week.

He found something good in that big Live Oak tree!

He sure is photogenic, don't you think?

This guy is too!!!

I hope your week has been a good one.

It was a GREAT one for me!!!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Nice trail. At the moment we have very few planes flying over out house and long may it stay that way, less pollution which is only a good thing

You did have a special time this week. I know that made you a happy person. That woodpecker is spectacular. It is cloudy today, but I need to get out and do some yardwork, but I may have a short hike in the works for this afternoon.

How wonderful that you got to connect with your son. Hoping for such a reunion for us with our second daughter in Buffalo later in April.

That pileated is so gorgeous. Haven't seen any up here yet in NH but have heard them. I must take down my bird feeder this weekend. Got notice of that because they are a bear attraction.

I'm pleased that you met those travelers, and that you are seeing sky trails again. Must admit I'm not seeing any planes just yet, least of all our flights to Greece. That Pileated really stands out against the tree. It must t that gorgeous ruby red colour.

Hooray for spending time with your son!!!!!!

And so very, very, very happy, to see you all, enjoying exercise in the out of doors, without masks!!! Oh mercy yes!!! It's high time we began to use our own Intelligence and become Logical, even if "The Powers That Be" do not do so. Or do not seem to want to give up their Authority to tell us, what we can and can not do.

What would make you, "able" to travel?

Oh, those woodpeckers are mischievous little guys, aren't they? We have a few holes that are right above our front porch area, and I found out recently that they are woodpecker holes! The painter has to seal the holes when he paints the exterior of the house. Those woodpeckers sure are masters at it - the holes are perfectly round. Lovely photos of the Pileated Woodpecker, Diane. : )
