It is extremely hard to limit the photos for this post! We hiked at Blue Run Park this week and watched 4 Hawks displaying such interesting behavior!
First we saw a Hawk taking a bath!
He splished
and splashed
and had a fun time!
Until this White Ibis came along and stirred up the water searching for food!
But then....
isn't the Ibis in breeding colors gorgeous?
Oh and speaking of breeding!
The second hawk we saw was putting on a display to attract a male.
I'm going to need to combine some of these pics to keep this post going.
The male Hawk DID fly in and they flew off together....
happily ever after!
The 4th Hawk was flying high overhead, possibly watching all of the 'goings on'!
What a day at the park!
Have you ventured out into the wild this week?

...the hawk with the spread wings is something else! A happy weekend to you.
Hello Diane,
Cool captures of the Hawk bathing. The shot with the wings spread is beautiful. I do love the White Ibis's breeding colors, they are lovely. Great series of photos and mosaics.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
The pictures of the hawk bathing are amazing. That was quite a catch.
Oh, I love these photos. We have seen some hawk couples, or else a parent and a child...so interesting...That Ibis is gorgeous. I have to run..A great blue heron just landed in the trees out by the pond here...maybe I can get a picture. Have a blessed day!
I didn't even know hawks could stand in water that deep! Amazing photos.
Yes, I've been watching nature IF watching squirrels run up and down is considered nature. 😏 That female hawk was quite something with her "come hither" vibes.
What a collection of fantastic shots! The colors on the Ibis are gorgeous and I'm glad the hawks found each other. Happy Easter to you and yours!
Hello Diane, So glad you showed us all your photos. It's not every day you see a bathing Hawk, and you got such great photos of it both in the water and in flight. I particularly like the first photo of the second Hawk putting on a display to attract a male, and the Ibis in breeding colours is a truly stunning sight.
Happy Easter to you and your family.:=)
Really Diane, peeking in on someone's bath, isn't that a bit intrusive? Not to mention taking pictures and sharing them on social media. What an invasion of privacy. My bathroom curtain will be tightly shut when you travel through my neighborhood. Mercy me.

Oh wow, what great photos! I love the splished and splashed series!! :) Happily ever after too, how nice :))) The Ibis colours are gorgeous!
Wow! A fantastic double spring bird series!
Amazing and I have never seen a amazing dance or the flying off together. You were there at exactly the right moment. And yes the colors of the mating habits are gorgeous and I did not know that they change colors during mating
It is hard to stop clicking when you get such sightings. The Ibis is gorgeous in its breeding plumage and so are your shots of the hawk.
It surely is spring and mating season! Soon there will be lots of young birds to carry on the line. Such beautiful photos you have given us today.
Excellent action shots!!!
Oh, I thought I posted my comment this morning. Loved your hawk pictures especially...we are seeing some unusual bird activity around here too. Geese, Herons, and we've seen some hawks as well. Tis the season I guess for birds to be doing what birds do...making more birds!! Loved your post!! Happy Easter!
Spring time out in the wild! Such goings-on!! Great photos! xo
We watched some hawks courting and mating this week on top of a cell phone tower. It was amazing.
These photos are all amazing. That Ibis is pretty.
Ah sweet love. Love the splishing and splashing going one with the Hawk---it was awesome.
Oh BTW: I think maybe the bird I wondered about might be a Goldfinch changing into summer plumage and picking up the reflection of the yellow feeder. Maybe???

Un precioso reportaje. Feliz semana.
Ooh, Florida love! What a fabulous series ! I have watched “ our” Florida eagles take a bath ...in real life as well as on their video cam, but never ever saw a hawk in the water, that is so cool! And yes the ibis are beautiful this time of year! Yep, Florida memories! Loved this post.
I can see why it was hard to limit photos -- what fabulous sightings!
That White Ibis is the prettiest bird with its red beak and long skinny legs. That must have been fun to watch the Hawk in action trying to impress the male hehehe. I like the picture of her stretched out on a branch, and the picture of the Hawk and Ibis together on the water spoke to me. So different, yet so much alike. They are both birds trying to survive in the wild. : )

I'm fascinated by your photos of the hawks. I've never seen the ibis with red - I live in S Florida ..
