Having a Jeep is exciting! I know, I've had lots of nice vehicles over the years but having a Jeep has some added fun benefits!
When you're out and about, you always get the Jeep wave!
When you meet another Jeep you wave and they wave back. How much fun is that! The Jeep wave is explained HERE!
And then there's the duck, duck, Jeep phenomenon! I think I'll let someone else explain it HERE!
But it's a fun way to say "Hello" to other Jeep owners by leaving a rubber ducky.
We walked at Blue Run Park and when we finished there was a yellow rubber duck in my door handle. It made my day! Now I'm always on the lookout for other Jeeps at the trailheads. I bought a bag of ducks and the first one I left was at the Publix near us when we went to get our Covid 19 vaccine. It was a purple Rubicon that we parked close to. I hope they came out of the store and smiled when they found it!
I still love finishing a hike and seeing the red Jeep at the trailhead waiting! Photo taken at Halpata Tastinaki Preserve hwy 200 trailhead. And one thing that I LOVE about my new Willys, is the Sky One-Touch roof. With a little button, you can open the roof and ride home in a convertible. The weather has been so great that we open it every time we drive home.
And believe me, I put a cap on when it's open so that my white hair doesn't blind other drivers! hahaha!
It's the perfect vehicle for my lifestyle!
So that's more of my Jeep adventure.
Have you enjoyed some adventures this week?
I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Jeep is a hikers dream car for sure. Had not heard about the duckie leaving. when we had our corvette, we did the same with the tops, put them down and had to wear a cap to be able to see in the fl sunshine. other vettes waved or did the thumbs up sign..
I had a jeep in the early 2000's but no one said anything about a duck then. Must be a new thing! Have fun!
How much fun is that? Who knew about the rubber duckies? I never would have dreamed of that connected to Jeeps...and the special wave? Wow! It's like you entered a whole new dimension of fun! Oh, and that sun roof is great! I can tell you are enjoying your new vehicle already so much you may decide to take your adventures even farther away!! Have fun!!
You look great in your new ride!
I love your cute jeep and looks like you are having fun with the ducks too. Thanks for the blog visit Diane and i hope you have a nice week.
My cousin has a jeep like yours only in khaki. She keeps ducks in the jeep to leave on other jeeps she sees. I think it is a fun thing to do for sure. I did not know about the jeep wave....neat.
I love your new Jeep. Enjoy it. And the duck thing is awesome! Such fun! You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
I never knew there was a Jeep wave or duck, duck Jeep, but how fun! It's the perfect vehicle for you. :)
Yes i can well imagine that jeep fitting nicely into your hiking days, Diane.
Thanks for droppibg by and linking to Monday WRites today
Much💛love
YAY!!! Being a Jeeper is a unique experience that I have loved for many years. Enjoy!!
Love your red jeep. Jeep wave sounds like fun.
...I hope that Jeeps have come a long ways since the late '60s. Back then the ride was ROUGH, your fillings would fall out of your teeth!!!
I miss the Jeep Wave! We had an old CJ5 Jeep back when our daughter was little and then a Jeep Cherokee. Rick also had a work vehicle that was a Jeep Cherokee. Such a fun vehicle and your white hair is beautiful! Have fun!
Such a cute Red Jeep...
You like Lavender... And you like Red... (sofas and Jeep)
That 2 fingers lifted, just off the steering wheel... I have read that that is a standard "greeting," in rural places... Well, VT anyway. No matter what make vehicle, one is driving.
The rubber ducky idea is the cutest thing!!!! Love that!!!

Fun articles and now I understand!! Love your red Jeep! I had a wonderful adventure with Barbara, Sweet Tea and Sandals when she visited this past weekend! Check out her blog and mine for some pictures!!
*haha* I had no idea about a "Jeep wave".... only the motorcycle wave which is the same hand gesture but held down at the driver's side. I didn't know about the rubber ducky either. How absolutely FUN is that!! I'm so glad you're a part of the Jeep crowd now. It lends a bit of different excitement to life, I would imagine. :) ~Andrea xoxo
What a fun post...you are deeply ensconced in the Jeep culture it seems!! :) It's funny, when I bought my city car, my Dodge Journey SUV, the other option was a Jeep but it was not the big one like you have, and I didn't figure I could fit all the pets in there...now I wish I'd tried!! :)
Hello,
I love your new jeep. I have seen motorcycle riders doing the wave thing. The duckies are cute, I have to start looking for the ducks on the Jeeps. Have a happy new week!
SAAB Drivers do the same!!!
Your little red jeep is so cute and so happy, it just makes me smile!
I loved the two I had...loved them!!! The only reason I went to a car was to accommodate the Pres when he needed to have open heart surgery. A car was much more comfortable for him...jp
I've heard of the jeep wave. A friend of mine bought one shortly before she retired and she told me about the wave. I never heard of the duck duck jeep though. That's pretty fun
I had so much fun reading this! Reminds me of my cycling days. Wishing you many safe and happy Miles ahead ❤️
I LOVE it! Perfect for you my friend.
:-)
Fun post.
Enjoy your Jeep, it's a great colour :)
All the best Jan
My Jeep is a Renegade so not as nice as yours. Never heard of the duck thing.
best wishes with that beautiful jeep diane. i had a jeep years ago and i did not know about the wave or the duck!! no adventures yet but i have a few in mind for the days to come!!
Diane - when I first opened your post, I thought - hmm, is this a car commercial? And it was. But in a very hip way. All humans look for companionship, and I think it's special that Jeeple have their own tribe!!! Thanks for sharing a little Jeep lore with the rest of us at Mosaic Monday!
Love it! I wonder what kind of road music goes with a swanky red jeep.

lol. You seem to have a LOT of fun with your JEEP. I enver heard of anything like that in Sweden but we don´t have that many JEEP:s. At least I don´t see any. There might me more up north.
Take care, have fun!
Muy interesante, no sabia lo del patito por España creo que no se hace. Mi jeep era de dos puertas, un poco incomodo para los acompañantes, por eso lo vendimos pero a mí me encantaba. Besos.
It sounds like you are having waaaay too much fun with your new red Jeep! I had never heard of the rubber duck nor the wave. Blogging is so educational!
I LOVE IT!!!!
LOVE!!!!!
Yay for you!
It is fun, isn't it?!
When my husband drives my Jeep, he refuses to do the Jeep wave, and I have to remind him that I have a reputation to uphold! LOL
Congrats and enjoy!
How fun to have that red Jeep! I had no idea about the Jeep culture, but it sounds so fun and quirky, so positive. I am so glad you have a vehicle that brings a smile to your face!
I'd be waving at you in your convertible red Jeep as well - what a great car! Haha to the duck, duck Jeep thing! How many ducks have you left? That's so lovely!

I had no idea about all of that Jeep etiquette. How fun. xo Laura
Your red jeep is delightful and yes a perfect addition to your lifestyle. The wave and the duck traditions are so much fun. Hubby does a special hand greeting on the motorcycle to other cyclists. Two fingers pointing down meaning keep two wheels on the road or be safe I guess. I think these are enjoyable ways to connect.
I've never heard of the rubber ducky thing and the Jeeps, how fun! That was nice of you to buy a bag of them to give them to other Jeep owners along the way. They are so cute, and I've seen them in all colors. I bought a turquoise one for Francesca for bath time. So glad you are loving your new Jeep.
~Sheri
I love your new wheels! So glad you love it so much. The Ducky theme is surely fun, when you find someone left you a cute little Ducky!! Keep on hiking! Love, Aunt Helen
Well my goodness. I didn't know owning a Jeep was so exciting! The wave. The duck . . . how fun is that?! And red is my favorite color so you had me with the color alone! You're never lacking for adventure and what a fun way to find more adventures and explore!
oh my goodness Diane your new jeep is bright and fun and shiny just like YOU!!! I love it! Wow, it looks GREAT IN ALL the pictures, it's so bright and pretty. I just know you're gonna have so many fun and wonderful adventures in that thing!! LOL I've NEVER HEARD of the jeep wave or leaving the cute little ducks.....how fun!! Kinda like I leave fairy stones around maybe? Anyway, so neat, love the idea and you're definetly going to have fun with that I can see!!! Y'all going to hike any this weekend? Not sure what we are up to. Hugs my friend, be safe and have fun!
