Humming right along!

We enjoyed some time in the mountains of North Carolina and took a few hikes while we were there too.

The first place we headed was Fletcher Park!

It never disappoints!

We watched this hummingbird while we enjoyed the flowers and art work in this part of the park.

It hovered right in front of our eyes!

I'm not sure what these red flowers were but the hummers loved them!

Our hike was a little stalled while we marveled at these tiny birds.

And around our condo there were lots of flowers planted to attract hummingbirds and hummingbird moths.

It was neat to see these moths every time we walked around outside.

Just one more! lol

It's fun to see different birds and flowers when you travel.

But back at Fletcher Park, I'll get a few photos of the Jeep with mountains in the background. This is Bernie Mt.

Oh and one more moth, a Skipper!

We had a good time but it's also nice to be back in Florida!

(even though it's too HOT to hike!)

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Beautiful pictures of the hummingbirds. Yes, it is too hot right now to hike. I just swept the back deck yesterday and was drenched.

There's no place like home, but I thought that both places were home. 🙂

Those red flowers certainly do the trick in attracting the hummers. Good to see the Jeep again Diane. Look after it.

Gorgeous red flowers and I have never seen a hummingbird and those are just absolutely beautiful! And I've never seen a mop that looks like that one he kind of looks like a crawfish! Your car is looking beautiful haha.

Gorgeous photos! The shot with the tail full out is fantastic.

I think the red flowers are crocosmia. Surprisingly, they grow here in the desert (with water). What beautiful critters. Those hummingbird moths are huge! Such ugly big caterpillars, but such wonderful moths. Your red Jeep looks great in any setting!

Any day spent with hummingbirds is a great day, and the Hummingbird-hawk Moth was the icing on the proverbial cake. I always think the moths look like flying lobsters!

Lovely capture on the flowers and honey-seeking hummingbirds and moths - which look very different from the moths I have seen! And your Jeep is outstanding in red. Have a great week

It's a beautiful place, fantastic photos, specially the hummingbird. I wonder if the red flower is a type of fuchsia. We have a California fuchsia in our garden and the hummingbirds love that too.

A nice place to escape to - so pretty! The hummingbird moth is amazing. I've only seen one and that was in N.H. I don't think they have them here in WA state. I'll bet the Jeep is fun to travel in! x K

hi, you certainly had a great day. Just to see a humming bird is wonderful. This kind of moths are quite cool. We have some similar to this but they are quite hard to find.
Beautiful post!

Oh, what a wonderful sight to see the Hummingbird! Those red flowers are beautiful. This little bird is always in flight, so it's nice that you
got a few pictures of him in flight. They flutter about so quickly. The last photo is so pretty.

I hope the August days bring you much goodness, Diane.

You got a great deal when you bought that red jeep. I have never seen one that doesn't ever have a spot of dirt. That must have been some special paint they used. Wonder if I could get some of that paint and use it on my kitchen floor?

Lovely to have spent some time, in mountains.

I don't think I could happily live, in very flat countryside. -smile- Being as where I was born and bred.

Such beautiful phoots! Glad you had a good trip. It is crazy with the weather. My friend in Boise said it was in the triple digits, a rareity there. My baby girl in Western NY is barely hitting ther 70's and they have had rain rain and rain. We had three days of rain and then poof but at least the temps are not as hot as they had been. It is so good to see you here.
