Remember me? We've been traveling!

It sure felt great to load the Jeep and travel to the mountains of North Carolina.

And we had lots of fun on the way!

A trip through Georgia deserves a stop at the Piggly Wiggly!

It's a Southern thing! Taking a detour because of a train on the tracks is common too!

And we saw fields of sunflowers in full bloom.

Doesn't hurt to stop for a few photos, does it?

It was nice to have the cooler temps in the mountains and lower humidity!

And then there are the Blue Ridge Mountains!

We never get tired of seeing those!

Lots of photos to share and I can't wait to start visitin' again! Can you believe I didn't even take my computer on this trip? (I took an IPAD but didn't spend much time on it!)

What have I missed? What's new with you? Tell me in the comments what's happening where you live! I'm anxious to hear from all of my blog buddies!

Enjoy your day! I love the mountains but I'm also thankful to be back in Florida!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

The pictures are beautiful. The sunflowers are so pretty.
Palmer, the new baby is here. I have been busy and trying to catch up too. My girl is having some bladder issues so that has been stinky, but we are good.

Wondered where you'd gotten to. I'm taking a break from blogging now too. Been dealing with contractors as we fix up this 1839 house we bought in December. Today we have tree guys here cutting old trash trees and bushes that have been blocking our view of the field and hills behind us. we had to jettison one tree contractor that kept putting us off. This one has been amazing. The barn whisperer did his thing and now e await the concrete guy to put the floor, then grading of driveway can happen then return of barn whisperer to complete the renovation. Hope to have a car in there come winter. Its keeping us busy but stress level when contractors are no shows is a problem. We have the slowest t carpenter working on the deck and replacing clapboards. Painter comes in August. I guess that's enough.

welcome back, i have missed you!!

i LOVE road trips!! packing the car, packing snacks...the casualness of the trip. stoping whenever you want, being able to see all of the sights, it is so much better than flying!!

gorgeous pictures, the last on is superb!! and the sunflowers, it's nice to see them!!

not much is new here except that i got out for the first time yesterday. it has been hot and humid, so sitting outside is not an option so we went for a drive and had supper in the car!! it was exciting, the first time i had been outside in 7.5 weeks. wow, that's a long time!!

The photos are wonderful, but I love that last photo! Such a lovely shot! I've seen the mountains and I agree they are really quite beautiful. Many years ago, a friend of mine and I drove to Nashville twice. It was an awesome trip. I'm glad you had such a good time, hugs, Edna B.

Hey, Diane! Good to see you back! Looks like you probably went right past us on your way to the mountains. Lovely pics! Can't wait to see what adventures you had. Take care!

What gorgeous views from your trip! We have just a very few Piggly Wiggly stores up here; there used to be more way back when! We are having hot, humid days (not as bad as those in Florida, though) and lots of wildfire haze. Good days to be inside and sewing - or reading, which is what I'm about to do!

So glad you got a chance to visit the mountains. It's always been a place that I've wanted to settle, and my family just visited and had a really nice time. Looking forward to seeing some of your photos, and I love that field of sunflowers. Welcome back, my friend. : )

Welcome home!!! We used to have a piggly wiggly here in Texas but not anymore! I’m like you, though! I stop whenever I see one when I travel! Love your red keep! My friend, Reaoma, had a red Jeep. Glad you got to go and glad you’re safely home!

Looks like a wonderful trip. No Piggly Wiggly around here but I remember some show I used to watch years ago that would mention that store from time to time.

Your jeep looks GOOD ANYWHERE!--IT'S SO PHOTOGENIC! LOL did you ever name it/her/him? LOL It's hot and humid here so haven't done too much walking.....no hikes! A "stroll" is more like it! LOL, in this summertime heat. Bet you are glad to be home. But it sure is fun to go other places too!

Beautiful pictures! Welcome back! You've missed a lot of heat, humidity, and the typical rain showers for this time of year. I'm so glad you were able to enjoy the mountains and all the beauty they hold.

Welcome Back! The Blue Ridge Mts are so beautiful….NC And Florida make a great combination for you …and your first and second places are soooo much closer together than our two… (it’s our own fault that we fell in love with a place on the other side of the country…))! …it’s very hot here in Oregon …hotter than it was in Florida last week incredibly…. maybe we should come back to cool down !

We've missed you here, but I don't blame you for escaping the summer heat here and enjoying some hopefully cool mountain vistas/breezes. And what fun to find the "Piggly Wiggly" and the sunflowers and train tracks, etc. Glad you got to get away for a spell, but we are happy you are back. It's still kind of hot for too many hikes, however...looking forward to fall, aren't you? Anyway, Welcome back! Wish you could join us at Micanopy tomorrow! You know you are welcome!

Great to see you have had such a wonderful trip. Beautiful scenic images. Blue Ridge Mountains, that name conjures up the thoughts of cool landscapes, wonderful walks and new trails that I imagine you have discovered. We continue to battle the heat over here across the pond in Spain. It is annoying I can't go to the beach as I usually do but the pool is my saviour at present. keep well Amanda x

Piggly Wiggly. Ever wonder who named it that and why? Hopefully, they didn't spend a fortune paying a marketing company to do customer research studies to come up with it.

Maybe I am wrong. It is a memorable name.

We are well here. Avery, my husband works, works ,works and I am here with the dogs and my cat. We had a nice trip when Hannah and Jake came home for her 30th birthday, I love to take road trips with my son-in-law Jake. He is the best. We spent a day at Horsetooth Resovoir where the kids kayaked. We watched from a picnic table with our oldest and her husband. We've been to every T-ball game of our little grandson Brody. Next he will play soccer. But his lil bro Blake wanted to play baseball. Next year, he is funny for a boy barely turning two this month. He is smart and after the final game of the season he ran the bases stopping and cheering for himself on each one. IT has been a good summer for us. We do lots of phamily stuff and enjoy being health and happy. I am so happy you had a fun trip. Take care
