The Deer Whisperer!

I need to post every day for awhile to catch up on my hiking photos! But I'll at least try to do 2 posts a week for awhile. The weather is so gorgeous that we are getting out just about every other day!

We spotted this Buck when we walked down a firebreak road near the Florida Trails trailhead at hwy 484.

White-Tailed Deer

I like to name the trails and I've named this one Sunshine Trail. It's nice and open and bright. And with many leaves off the trees, it's easier now to spot wildlife.

Some of my bike friends have mentioned seeing a big buck and we were so happy to get a good view of him.

But the encounter that was amazing to us was with the doe.

She walked toward my husband.

He stayed as still as he could...

and was even taking photos of the buck while she walked by.

If I had captions it would say....

"Hey mister, did you know you're standing in the deer crossing?"

We came away exhilarated after this experience!

Nature never disappoints, does it?

Hope you can get outside and enjoy nature this week too!

I'm joining Mosaic Monday HERE

and I like Thursdays HERE !

What beautiful photos of your walks.
Very nice that the deer came so close to you.
Here it has been raining and storming very hard for days, so much that you cannot go for a walk.
I wish you a nice week.
Greetings Irma

...you saw and captured some gorgeous images. Here they get spooked and run off quickly. Enjoy your week Diane.

What a terrific experience, Diane! Encounters with wildlife are always special.

Thanks to you, we have finally discovered where the buck stops!

That must have been an unforgettable experience. And the photos are magnificent. You are right, nature never fails us and we need to be out in her as much as we can.

Beautiful photos! Deer are daily visitors to our yards but I never tire of seeing them, Diane. They are such interesting creatures. Be careful around bucks during mating season as they can be onerous though, Other times of the year they are pretty mild-mannered.

OMG I love the deer on your hike. How beautiful is that buck and the doe to be so unafraid and curious of you. Days and sightings like this is what makes life so grand. Happy New Week. Hugs. Kris

Now that would be exciting to have that doe so close and be able to capture such great photos. We see deer fairly often, but only once was it a buck.

WOW, great photos!! It looks like the buck has a battle scar on him? Do you see it too?

As your pictures adequately demonstrate, it's much better to be out as part of nature than sitting at the computer reporting on it - although we hope you continue to do that too.

I would LOVE some warm sunshine right now! Great shots of your hike, especially the deer. I know they are pests around here, but I find them so graceful and lovely.

Wow Diane, both the deer are beautiful!! What a great experience. It's been chilly over here, but probably good hiking weather -- we will get back out there again ...someday!!

Yes, I agreee, Dear Diane, the Nature never disapponts. And I`m wondering, the deers are unbashful.

Thank you for sharing at MosaicMonday. It was a great pleasure for me.

Really amazing photos of those deer. I love that you name your trails! I actually have never seen deer in Florida. How interesting that the doe walked near your husband!

Angie said...

Diane - I did not know you could still find deer in Florida. How wonderful is that?!? And if there are deer, there must be mommies and daddies! Spectacular photos! We are in our gray mode in Montana right now, so it is refreshing to see dappled sunlight SOMEWHERE!!!

We see deer here often sometimes in our yard, but I enjoyed walking along with you today. I am now a follower as I have enjoyed my visit to your blog.

Beautiful photos of the deer and so close. Beautiful header. Thank you for your friendship.

Despite what they've done to gardens including mine back in Maryland, they are lovely creatures. Do you have issues with deer ticks in FL and Lyme disease?

BeachGypsy said...

Those are great deer pictures! They come out here every evening like clock-work-- right up to our porch!-- I LOVE seeing them. We had another bitter cold spell but it's now warmed up
