Bluebirds of Happiness

Of all the birds I see here in North Central Florida and photograph, it seems like the bluebirds are the most popular.

Several of you have mentioned that the bluebird is your favorite bird.

And right now they are bright blue contrasted against the drab browns and grays of the trees.

There are a few berries on the vines right now too.

Eastern Bluebird

They are a joy to watch and sometimes they are in among the flocks of Warblers and Goldfinches.

The Warblers are colorful too. (I know I should try to ID each one but that is a challenge for me, as you know! My hubby always teases that if I don't know which Warbler it is, I call it a Prothonotary Warbler. I've never actually seen one of those but it's wishful thinking!)

Peek a boo!!!

Lots of pretty birds if you have the patience to stand still and try to photograph them.

This one is a lemon yellow.

The Black and White Warbler goes up and down the tree and presents another challenge.

But what is life without challenges!

And these are the best kind!

Most of these were taken from the 49th Ave Trailhead.

Enjoy your weekend. Look outside and see what birds are in your neighborhood!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

I consider you one of the finest nature photographers and I love your bird captures. I would say the Eastern bluebird is my favorite as well.

...these are fabulous, I rarely see bluebirds.

What beautiful pictures of these different birds.
Indeed, for me, the bleu bird is also the most beautiful bird species.

Those are all such sweet birds, Diane. When we lived a bit further north we used to get the Indigo Buntings on their way to the northern regions. They would eat at our feeders for a couple of days and then be gone. I thought they were some of the prettiest birds I had ever seen.
Happy Birding- xo Diana

Such wonderful shots of all the birds, Diane! We have had a very rare occasional sighting of a blue bird here in winter. Lots of woodpecker action at our feeders, though!

Such wonderful shots of all the birds, Diane! We've had only the rarest of rare sightings of bluebirds here in North Georgia this winter. Mostly, it's woodpeckers and cardinals at our bird feeders. Just now saw a nuthatch! Birds are such gifts, aren't they?

I know we have bluebirds around here but I have never seen one. I've seen blue jays but not blue birds.

For whatever reason bluebirds seem to have captured human imagination more than is true of others. Just think of the number of songs that have been written about bluebirds. By the end of next month the migrants will be returning here, although birds are remaining with us with ever greater frequency and in increasing numbers.

Hello Diane, First of all, what a great new header! Very nice work! Now, about the bluebirds … For a while I lived in Montana in the midst of the Rocky Mountains. During that time, my favorite bird became the Mountain Bluebird. I’ve been curious … Why did they name them Eastern and Mountain? Why not Eastern and Western? 😊 Anyway, your photos of the Eastern Bluebird make it a close runner up to my favorite. Wishing you a happy weekend! John PS I have a tendency to go on and on in my comments … if it’s too much, just let me know. 😊

Hello Diane :=)
Great sightings of all these gorgeous birds. The black and white Warbler is a lovely little bird, as is the favourite Blue Bird, but they are a treat to see here, as they are not seen in
my neck of the woods.
Have a great weekend
All the best.

the bluebirds are gorgeous, such a pretty shade of blue. they are abundant here in new jersey but i have never seen them at my feeders. on the farm i visit they have a lot of bluebird boxes and a large number of bluebird families! your pictures are so pretty!!

for me, a warbler is a warbler...a few are easy to tell apart, others, not as much!! i do see warblers at my feeders, most i am familiar with. you are taking really nice walks, i think you are filled with patience, i know i am...i want to capture the picture!!

We have many bluebirds in our fields, I love them so. Your yellow warbler looks a bit like our gold finches in winter.

I'll join everyone and say how much I love Bluebirds although I don't see many of them. Your shots are great.

I wish birdwatchers were allowed to rename the warblers instead of breaking head analysing their subtle differences. The bluebirds are stunning!

Such beautiful birds, Diane. We don't have bluebirds here and I hope to see one some day. Your photos are gorgeous. Today I saw a Northern Flicker in the garden and enjoyed watching him feed. Have a great week.
