We don't have to leave our homes to see beautiful birds here in Florida.
This Juvenile White Ibis has been walking through our yard every day this week.
And yesterday he wandered through the flower garden with a friend. These beautiful flowers are across the street at my sweet neighbors' house. (I came back to add that.) I don't want to take credit for her gorgeous flowers! I have roses blooming in my flower beds but the Ibis in these photos were across the street!
I was hoping they would stay in this area to get more photos of the gorgeous blooms.
We've had a few afternoon showers lately and everything is blooming like crazy.
Oh, a photo bombing Crow! lol
And of course the forest is all atwitter this week too.
I saw this beautiful male Downy Woodpecker on a hike near the Shangri-la trail.
And then on another day I saw a pretty female Downy near the hwy 484 trailhead.
It's been a good week for getting out early and enjoying a hike.
You can see that the female doesn't have a red spot on her head.
But if you need to stay inside one day...look out the window!
I stood in my courtyard here to see what was under the trees in the backyard.
A big Tom Turkey was taking a break and enjoying the cool shade of the oak trees.
Have you seen some birds at your house this week?
Get outside and enjoy nature when you can and look for a shady place to take a break!

in my yard, i saw the brightest cardinal i have ever seen on an evergreen branch that was hanging low, toward the ground. by the time i got my camera and all the stars alined, he flew off...but it is a wonderful memory!!
your images of the downy woodpeckers are really, really fantastic!! the first 2 are my favorites!! i have wonderful birds at my feeders, smaller song birds, i would love to see some larger ones!!
your new header image is so pretty, so utterly perfect...have a wonderful weekend!!
...you saw more birds than I did this week, but the butterfly in the header attracted my attention.
You've seen some fun and great birds this week, right close to home! That's a bonus! And then the downy woodpeckers are always cute and fun to watch. We often have them in our little pine trees out here in our yard, but they like to go around the tree on the other side where I can't see them, so it is difficult to get a good picture of them, unless I am very patient and stand there waiting a long time. You got some great photos! Love the turkey!! This rain is much needed and we are thankful for it. Our pond is very happy! Have a blessed and safe weekend!
Such beautiful photographs.
if I posted the photo I took through my living room window yesterday you would think i borrowed yours. its a juvenile ibis with the same black and white markings. most of the juveniles are not that color, but are more browns...
Thank you, Diane, for sharing a beautiful collection of flowers and birds. All without leaving home!
A Turkey in the yard. That's just not fair!
Enjoy the weekend.
Such lovely birds are walking in your garden... great.
Great shots.
Thank you, a pleasure to see.
Many greetings to you from Viola
I enjoyed seeing all the birds in your garden, especially the ibis! :D Have a wonderful weekend!
Tuviste mucha suerte de ver tantas aves bonitas. Por mi jardín también hay bastantes pájaros y me encanta verlos. Feliz fin de semana.
You have a beautiful garden/yard! No wonder the birds like it!! I rarely see birds outside my home but did hear a Sandhill Crane one afternoon. I went looking for them and didn't see them near. I think they were across the busy street near a retention pond. Thanks for the tour!!
Turkey is so relaxed there prowling around.
That is so neat, an ibis visiting! You have a beautiful landscape.
Funny, when the outdoor temperature dipped down, I see birds on my deck looking around where winter seed was.
I stopped putting out seed, I think, late March or early April. The birds seem to associate chilly weather with bird seed being put out for them.
You have some beautiful birds visiting your garden!!
Delightful birds!
What a wonderful series of photos of the White Ibis, a species we can only see in the zoo.
Here there hasn't been a drop of rain for six weeks and everything is very dry, the grass has turned completely yellow.
I wish you a very nice weekend.
Greetings Irma
love woodpeckers... they visit our backyard frequently...
baby ibis looks so cute.
That's a lot of different birds. The thing that really strikes me in your pictures is the grass and how green it is. Another friend in Florida has no grass
I have no doubt that wherever people live, provided their gardens are bird-friendly, there are always interesting species to see when they glance out the window.
You get quite an assortment of birds. Here most common is the robin. As I write I just heard a pileated but never can see it. The gold finch have loved my feeder with their favorite black seeds but now it's empty and don't know if I'll find the see I need. The hummingbird stops by occasionally because there are other nectar sources.
Hello,
You do see some great birds in your yard. I love the Ibis and the Downy Woodpeckers. The Turkey is a great yard visitor too. The flowers are pretty, you have a great view! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!
Great photos!
Looking out my window right now, squirrels are raiding the bird feeders!
Have a great weekend!
Beautiful birds you have!
Beautiful birds. Funny how turkeys are now everywhere! the other day we were driving down a quiet residential street and one ran across the road with its head awkwardly stretching forward and its legs almost windmilling.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Oh my that Tom Turkey is handsome! All your photos are fantastic and that palm tree what a beautiful tree. Enjoy your weekend and all those nature moments too.
Hello Diane. Imagine having White Ibises moseying around the garden. I can but dream. And you live in such a lovely neighbourhood. By the way, our European Kestrel is a different species to your American Kestrel, similar in that they are both members of the same family of falcons, but not the same. Isn't nature just amazing?
Ohhhh, Florida... it must be wonderful. Your garden and it´s inhabitants look great!
I heard but never saw a woodpecker - nor a turkey. Neither did I eat one, it´s just uncommon here in Germany, sadly.
We have but a small balcony, so seeing yours made me smile big.
Lots of beautiful birds you captured. Your new header is absolutely beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend.
What a fine assortment of birds to have in one's yard. I have only had Robins, Sparrows, Cardinals and Chimney Swifts around this past week.
Great shots of wildlife. There are birds that flit about out my window and wild peacocks can show up sometimes when I go for walks.
Hi Diane,
I appreciated and enjoyed your comment on John’s Island checking to see if I had published a new post. Indeed, I’m exceptionally slow this time but thank you for checking! You sure have a fine post here. Wow, your neighborhood is really neat and how lucky to have all the interesting birds dropping by for a visit which means a photo opportunity for you. I enjoyed all your photos. Isn’t the Ibis an interesting bird? Cool shots of the woodpeckers too. I learned something new … the female doesn’t have a red spot on her head. The big Tom Turkey looks to be taking a well deserved break. Thanks for sharing your photography. Hope to see you at John’s Island on my next post and I’ll try to link up with Saturday’s Critters. Take good care and happy weekend and week ahead to you!
John
You see such a great variety of birdlife. I always enjoy your photos of them. They are all very different from the ones we see here.
Well, I've never had turkey or Ibis in or near my garden, so you live in a wonderful area. I want to thank you for your kind words about Dustin. Means a lot to me.
What a treat to have such lovely visitors in your yard!
What a great nature pictures….how are you ? …. I read all your post I missed….no much blog time for me…I am searching a new home….stay by friends right now…..so sad …but that is my life right now…enjoy summer….love from me and Leaf 🍀🐾❤️🙏🍀
Love the turkey picture!
You indeed are so fortunate to have all these pretty critters visiting your yard!
Wonderful! Especially ibises walking in the yard like in Oscar Wilde's tales. Never knew that red spots decorate only male woodpeckers, thank you, Diane. Ducks also look plainer in comparison to drakes.
Out town is also all in blossoms "like crazy". Blessed summer! Enjoy every day of it, dear lavender dreamer.
You have such a beautiful variety of birds in your neck of the woods. Here, the deer have eaten all my pansies and lilies. I had to stop feeding the birds as all I got were crows, squirrels and a groundhog! LOL!
How wonderful that you get such beautiful photos of the birds so nearby ~ Wow
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

You are so blessed to have all these beautiful birds visiting your yard everyday. You have a lovely garden.
Loved all your photos, Diane! We occasionally see a wild turkey here but the most common birds are magpies, house finches, hummingbirds in summer, crows, and some hawks
Beautiful photos. You are lucky to see such a nice birds at your home. You have a beautiful garden. Have a nice week.
Dearest Diane, these are really great bird encounters very close to your home! How nice the visit of the young ibis 😍 But also nice the sighting of the woodpeckers and the turkey! You asked about the birds around us: Today we had a lot of excitement: I heard a strange noise in our wood stove at breakfast. When I opened the oven door, a young redstart fluttered towards me!!! Apparently it came down the chimney - maybe it's practicing for Christmas and wants to support Santa 😉? Luckily it escaped behind a curtain and then landed on the floor where I was able to catch it with a tea towel. We put it outside on the terrace table - and from there it flew away (high in the air, a much better plane than expected 😊👍). An exciting start of the day 😅
Sunny June greetings 🌸☀️🌸, hugs and all the best,
Traude

I never seen juvenile Ibis in nature.. great photos.
We've had lots of rain here, so things are growing.
My granddaughter watched a hawk fly over the porch with a mouse in its talons over the weekend. The hummingbirds visit the feeders all day. We have some Bluebirds nesting in our backyard, and lots of birds at the feeders.
WE do not, however, have the tropical birds that you see. How neat that you have them in your backyard!!
Oh yes, we get turkeys, lol.
Great post!
xxoo
Diane, you took some wonderful photos of the birds. I love that photo of the turkey just sitting under that tree. I hope you have a nice week.
Always a joy to see pretty flowers and a great selection of birds, but my goodness a Turkey too!
Wishing you a happy week.
All the best Jan
Your garden is beautiful and seems to be liked by the birds to visit. You have lovely critters and flowers all around. Regarding your comment about hydrangeas, they love water and wet soil to thrive, so they wouldn't do well in your sun-kissed place. Have happy days ahead.

Diane - we have Turkeys in the neighborhood, but I can't ever imagine an Ibis in my flower beds!!! Great photos! My favorite bird that I have seen lately is the Red-Naped Sapsucker! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment!
The wildlife in your area just amazes me. There is so much to see and enjoy and thank you very much for sharing it with us.
Connie :)
We have ibis stalking around our area too but not in my garden. Enjoy your week and thankyou for visiting my blog this week.
I was astonished about the many different birds around your home, dear Diane. Here in Germany we can find such exotics in the zoos. Wow... I was impressed reading about, seeing your fantastisc captures.
Thank you so much for sharing at MosaicMonday.
Hugs by Heidrun
Hello Diane, Your bird photos are wonderful! Yesterday, looking out my kitchen window, I saw 8 white birds across the street on my neighbors yard. I think they must have been Ibis. Thank you for the hint! I love the Woody's too! Love, Aunt Helen
Love your beautiful series of flowers and birds, Diane.
How cool to have an ibis visiting!
Your header is a stunner!
Hugs and blessigns
