Let's drive back over to Shangri-La trailhead!
You can always count on seeing a few horse trailers and horses on the trails.
But let's see if I can find a parking space! lol
Some of the trails I hike on are shared trails but that's never been a problem.
I sometimes see a horse but it's an easy trail to step aside. And I always give the horses a wide berth. I don't want them to be nervous around me.
And the riders are always friendly when they pass.
It's beginning to be one of my favorite hikes because of the beautiful forests with a chance to see wildlife and birds, flowers and butterflies.
Zebra Swallowtail butterfly, bull thistle
And when I left, this lone turkey wandered onto the dirt road in front of the Jeep.
So it was a chance for me to pull over in the grass and watch him wander!
I think I've learned my hiking form from him...a bit of a wander and meander!
Have you seen signs of Spring at your house this week?
It's beautiful here in Florida and I'm still hiking just about every other day which makes me happy AND healthy!

that is a good sized turkey wandering around. ha ha on the parking space, its a beautiful place and I would like seeing the horses as much as the critters and wildlife.. the last few weeks have been amazing and beautiful. the last 3 days are my favorites because it is cool at night and warms up fast during the day
Enjoyed your meandering hike -- good wisdom from that old turkey. You have such beautiful places to explore. No spring just yet - it snowed yesterday here in Alberta (Canada), but the Canada Geese are back. That's always a delightful sighting.
Wishing you a Happy Easter weekend, Diane. xo
Hi Diane,
I love the picture of your Jeep in that crowded parking lot! 😊 And, you said, “Don't you love this horse trailer and the artwork at the top?” Yes, indeed I do and you added it right into your header … very nice! The Zebra Swallowtail butterfly … what a beauty and perfectly named. In the second image of the turkey … can’t you imagine the turkey thinks, Ut oh … I’ve been spotted! 😊 Very neat post. Thank you, as always, for sharing and thank you for your kind comments on my blog. Happy weekend to you and yours!
John
What a beautiful place to walk!! I'm hoping to get back to my walking soon!
Beautiful pictures! You really do have the best places to hike over by you! Thank you for sharing them with us. Love the horses and the turkey! Such fun on these beautiful days!! Enjoy it for me!
Thank you for this lovely ramble! And yes, Hawaii people do note the changes of the seasons and I am looking forward to a beautiful spring! I'll send plenty of pictures via my blog Aloha
I guess that turkey knows it's Easter and not Thanksgiving time so it's safe to wander casually. Looks like it was a beautiful day out there.
You discover so many treasures in this nature reserve
Wishing you a happy Easter weekend :)
Your hike sounds wonderful, Diane.
I enjoyed seeing the beautiful photos of the forest and your wildlife encounters.
Happy Easter!
From my northern perspective, you have spring or summer all year long! Your trails always look beautiful.

Happy Easter! Beautiful views of the trail and the horses.
I enjoy the wildlife sighting you see on your walks.
Pretty flowers and a lovely butterfly.
The art on the trailer is pretty.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend.
I've come to love your trails down there. Right up my alley, nice, wide, sustainable trails, lots of trees, butterflies, moths, and interesting critters and not that many people. Sign me up!!
Hello Diane :=)
You always come up with the goods on your walks. I love the crowded car park, he he!The striking Zebra Swallowtail butterfly is aptly named, and I enjoyed seeing both the horses and the lone turkey.
I wish you and your family a Happy Easter.
All the best
Sonjia
Great photos! Love the butterfly!
Happy Easter!
It's always a pleasant surprise to see horses on the trails. I've seen a few lately on the highway riding along with their companions. The butterfly and pink thistle is pretty. And it's always fun to see those turkeys.
Happy Easter, Diane. Wishing you a good month of April.

it does not matter to me where you walk, i am always happy!! i go nuts when i see horses and deer, i am not sure why?!?! the bull thistle is so pretty, a gorgeous color!! everything is "greening up" here in NJ and of course we have a lot of tulips and daffodils!!
glad you arrived early, it looks like you got a great parking space!!
i forgot to say happy easter!!
We saw two (possibly 3!!) beautiful red cardinals on our early morning walk today. Also saw two large spider webs that were intricate, and a filmy silver white. Such beauty!
I enjoyed your photographs.
So pleased that the weather in Florida is good for your hikes.
Here in my part of the UK we've had a couple of beautiful sunny (but chilly) days but more rain is forecast for tomorrow!
Happy Easter Wishes.
Happy new month of April too.
All the best Jan
So much to experience during this season. Really puts a SPRING in our step!
Our experience is similar to yours. Lots to see as more and more blooms are showing up.
We hope you new week is filled with fun.
Now THAT is an assortment of critters! Happy April, Diane!
Yes, the horse trailer artwork is beautiful. Looks like you all had a wonderful time.
I miss Florida already. I loved that I was able to walk and swim almost everyday. Until next October...
También me encanta tú paseo, se ven cosas preciosas. Besos.
Love the pink puffs of the bull thistle. There is much to see in nature at this time of year. What you see is very different from what I see, so it's fun to come and see your part of the world. Happy spring hikes to you.
Great pictures. You always capture the best of everything. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Love seeing the horses on the trail, and it looks like a perfect place to hike or ride. Glad you are getting some good weather for it and finding time to get out in the spring sunshine. Fun to see the turkey, too. x K
Indeed, dear Diane, more and more spring is appearing every day. Every morning I discover more buds or opened tulips!
Your path was something special. I would have enjoyed that too. All the more thanks for sharing with MosaicMonday
Have a pleasant week. Greetings from Heidrun
