Happy Thanksgiving and camping out!

We are enjoying the beautiful Fall weather to take some camping trips.

But hopefully I can blog a little and visit everyone along the way!

I am sharing photos of the second half of the 'half a hike' I posted a couple of weeks ago.

This hike was along the Florida Trails from the Pruitt Trailhead.

It's a trail I hadn't taken in a long time.

But the weather is nicer now so I'm taking advantage of the cooler temps to get out more.

Flycatcher

A mosaic of another one that posed for me.

Hawk perched high in a tree

Wooly worm

Has anyone else every heard that you can count the stripes on the Wooly worm to see how bad the winter will be? I never can remember if more stripes means a harder winter or the other way around! lol

There's finally some water in the horse pond so it's been especially pretty lately!

I stopped on the dirt road to get the horse farm pics.

Grab your sunglasses before you get out!

I hope you are all having a blessed Thanksgiving week!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

  and Mosaic Monday HERE !

It looks beautiful there. It's snowing here this morning.

I've never even heard of a wooly worm, one reason it's so much fun to visit here where nature is so very different from the high desert mountains where I live. I hope you're continuing to enjoy your Jeep. I'm sure it's much more comfortable than my old one was.

Your weather looks lovely. After an extended warm autumn, our winter started with snow. We were lucky that our travel plan meant driving yesterday, not today or tomorrow!

Wow, beautiful photos! Looks like a lovely camping trip. Happy Thanksgiving to you too! I've heard that Woolly bear caterpillar folklore too, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Looks like you are having a good time outdoors. Our weather is down in the 40's for the highs. The snakes go wherever they go when the weather gets cold and there lots less of people on the trails as well.

The weather looks like it was wonderful that day. I hope it continues for your camping trip. I have never seen a hairy worm.

I love camping in the fall, but around here we have to time it just right. It always seems to be too hot, or too rainy, or too cold. I don't think I have ever seen a wooly worm and it looks huge! Pretty horses- great post!

I enjoy your blog and apologize for not commenting until now to tell you so. Our camping season ended early this year, but we are already making plans for the spring. Lovely bird shots!

love that tanager photo and the hawk made me think we have not seen one in months, the only birds we see are crows, and 1 jay last week, that is it. odd.

I've never heard of that saying about the wooly worm, but you got a great picture of it! All the little birds you see at the trail. Those horses are a pretty sight too! The orange butterfly is a nice photo for the end of Fall.

Happy December days, Diane.
