It needed a little 'tweaking'!

I wanted to introduce something a little nautical to my bedroom and I found the perfect fabric to make a new pillow.

It brought out the little bit of light blue in my comforter and looked very pretty ...I thought!

( and yes, I know there are fans everywhere...it's Florida! heehee!)

Until I went to the Thrift store and found these new shams!

I wasn't even sure what I would do with them but when I saw they were perfect and 'like new',

I washed them in Lavender scented laundry soap and put them on 2 new pillows that I had in my linen closet.  They are ecru crochet thread over linen.

I fell in love with them. I think they add romance to my bedroom.

And the new pillow? I put it on the chair in my bedroom and it looks nice there.

 

I love changing things just a little and seeing the results!

"Wednesday Wee Ones" Barbies and Bikes

I've been sewing and even attempting to 'design' Barbie clothes!

Which sounds like fun but is really very frustrating! I didn't make this dress...but I could have!

I did make this dress and handbag....

It's hard to make things to fit her! lol I have so many ideas but some of them are ending up on other dolls!

 

This little girl got Barbie's baby doll pajamas! heehee!

It's a good thing I have lots of dolls...all different sizes!

I am loving pink and green right now! Another dress I made...

My hubby asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and I said....a new Barbie!

So he bought me two!

These are so cute!

I don't know if they will get new cycling duds though!

I'm working on something else now...a sneak peek....

I hope all the mothers are enjoying a special day today!

We took a nice drive to the Gulf Coast yesterday

We ate at Peck's ... the best Grouper in the world!

And then we drove down to Hudson Beach and enjoyed the afternoon.

 

We sat in a big swing looking out at the boats, listening to Island Music. A live band was in the pavilion entertaining us all! I tell you....this is my favorite way to spend the day. The only way it could be better is if there were shells on this beach! heehee! There are not!

We always have fun....even on a weekend when the beaches are crowded!

You deserve some cake today!

That's what I told my hubby. He's been working outside mulching our flower beds.

 

We have plans for our courtyard....it's on our list!

The back of our house...

We have some areas that need replanted but we're not quite ready to do that so he is spreading mulch to keep the weeds away and make the empty areas look better. Eventually we want to get rid of a lot of the shrubbery that we have and have a landscaper change things.

You can see that the shrubs have gotten too big in the front!

The side....we'll probably plant more azaleas here because they do so well!

So here's the 3 layer Dark Chocolate cake I made for my hubby! ( I ate a little of it, too! )

I found the recipe ONLINE HERE and it had such good reviews that I decided to try it.

The cake was dense but not dry and very chocolatey!

With a strong cup of coffee....oh my!

We saved some for you!

The rose in my vase was ready to fall apart so I put the petals around my candle.

They sure make my bedroom smell nice!
