Fences, Real or Imagined!

When you post photos of fences every week, you find yourself looking for them everywhere!

And if you live in a make believe world some all of the time, you see all kinds of interesting things.

These started off looking like this.

And overnight they popped open to the most beautiful shapes I’ve ever seen.

It made my imagination go wild and the next thing I knew, I saw fairies

and Hansel

and even a skunk.

Just to give you an idea of where I was playing!

(wonder what the neighbors thought!)

Please don’t kick me out, Tex. I’m just sure there was a fence around them all too!

And just so I don’t get thrown out of fairyland the Good Fences party, here’s a photo I took out the side window of my car this week.

Striking a Pose!

Sweet Zeta is striking a pose in her cute little bubble dress!

I almost went back and took all of the photos again because the way I have her ‘leaning’, the beads at her waist look crooked. They aren’t! lol

And she was determined to pose for you all.

Isn’t the bubble dress the cutest!

I used the pattern HERE but I changed it up a little. If you decide to make one, email me and I’ll tell you what I did to mine. It was easy to make and looks so cute! Thanks for the free pattern!

I made the little doll she is holding without a pattern. (it may be crooked! lol)

Blue “Willow”

I almost didn’t get this.

I came home and told my hubby about this tea set and he told me to go back and buy it! (I know, I’m lucky…he’s MINE and you can’t have him! hahaha)

This thrift store is new to me and fast becoming a favorite. It’s called Next American Picker and they buy things from all over for their store. Everything is very clean and nicely displayed. The owners are friendly, too!

Do you remember this box? I got it there awhile back and it’s one of my favorite treasures.

I had the cake plate close by and thought the tea pot looked nice on top. Of course I’ll probably change it up some. I wonder if I should put my silver spoons in the sugar dish or should I put tea bags inside?

A Walk at the Park

I’ve walked at Sholom Park a lot over the past 10 years but I still managed to see something new when I went this week.

The Wounded Heart Tree.

The sign reads, “What may have caused such a Wound? All of us are also wounded, even the Greatest among us. Notice how this Tree still Stands Strong. How did this Tree learn to Deal with his hard times?”

I don’t always stay on the path so I’ve missed seeing it in the past. We had a rain shower the night before so I was staying out of the wet grass and I’m glad I did.

Always something new or different to see when you get out in nature.

A Neighborhood ‘critter’!

Our backyard joins the golf course in our community.

And what a surprise to see this gopher tortoise out for an ‘afternoon of golf’!

Hubby put her in a safer place but when we checked later, she had moved on.

Maybe to the nineteenth hole.

Old buildings in Florida

I love seeing old buildings like this when we are driving the back roads here in Florida.

I guess this is an old church because the fence in back surrounds a small cemetery.

Trees have grown right on top of the building.

And it’s hard to see the front.

There was even an old camper out back.

Everything was in disrepair (to say the least).

I just wonder about it’s story.

Grace in White Eyelet

Do you remember nighties made with eyelet fabric? It was always so cool and pretty in the summertime.

Here’s Grace in her new nightgown.

I found the pattern HERE and it was quick and easy.

She has a pretty silk flower in her hair.

And since the long gown had holes ‘eyelets’ here and there, Grace felt she needed a white slip.

So I just made a simple slip to go under her gown.

Quilts and Dolls

I love to ‘hunt’ for quilts and dolls!

And even though you probably think I go to the thrift store every day, I only go about once every 2 weeks or so. But I’ve been so lucky to find some neat things. We have the BEST thrift stores here in Florida.

I found this beautiful handmade lap quilt the last time I went.

I couldn’t wait to wash it and really look at it up close.

And look what I saw!

A heart stitched right in the center.

Won’t this feel nice to wrap up in next winter!

I also found these very old paper dolls.

They have patterns to make doll clothes for them. I’ve never heard of that, have you?

They were tucked in their original packaging, which was kind of like wax paper.

“Having Fun”

We had a little anniversary not long ago and hubby surprised me with a card and matching gift!

(It was the anniversary of when we met!)

How much fun is that?

And Lorrie at Fabric Paper Thread did the neatest mosaic last week and I said I would give it a try.

It’s all of the photos I took at Rodman Dam.

The whole folder made into one mosaic.

It was fun and easy working right in Picasa!
