Take a HIKE !

It’s such a beautiful time of year to hike!

We enjoyed an afternoon at the North Carolina Arboretum….

but instead of walking through the gardens….

or viewing the Bonsai trees…

or even seeing the special exhibits….

we took off on the trails !

Did I mention I’ve lost some weight? (maybe I shouldn’t be stopping people at the grocery store to tell them…do you think? heehee) I’ve lost 16 pounds now and I have so much more energy! (I also have a phone hooked on my waistband! lol )

I still can’t keep up with my sweet hubby though!

We hiked for over 2 hours in the most glorious weather…

with the beautiful Autumn leaves swirling around us!

We are at ‘peak’ here in the mountains of North Carolina and it’s beautiful everywhere you look!

Have you taken a hike lately? It’s invigorating!

I love hiking and I have not hiked at the arboretum yet. We usually hike in Dupont forest...

No more hikes now that hunting season has arrived. It's scary out there. It sure is pretty in your corner, though. Congrats on the weight loss and the energy gain!

What a beautiful place to hike!! I haven't gone hiking in a few years now that I have knee promblems...I sure miss it. We have 2 wonderful parks near here with great hiking trails, but the only walking I'm allowed to do is on an air-cushioned treadmill...and the scenery just isn't as pretty!! LOL...

Good for you Diane! I've been hiking too. We were lucky enough to move next to a few trails. One is a beautiful creek side trail. The trees here haven't starting changing colors yet. I'm looking forward to that! Your hike is gorgeous!!

THANK YOU! I just love the pictures you have shared. I still am amazed of the vibrant colors of NC in the fall.
I haven't been able to take pictures yet so I hope you don't mind, but I put a link to your blog on mine to share with my followers so they too can see the wonderful colors. If you would prefer I don't please let me know and I will take it down immediately.

That trail looks so great. Miss the colors down here in Florida. It has been hot and humid but did get some rain today. The plants really are needing it. Congrats on your weight loss. I thought you looked great anyway but I'm sure you feel better. Have a great day.

What beautiful fall colours. Quite stunning. I hiked up a mountain at the beach last on my blog! Quite the contrast to your gorgeous oranges, reds and yellows.

Congrats on the weight loss too :-)

Congrats on the 16 pounds. You look wonderful. I too just lost 15 pounds and feel terrific. I work out each day on an air stepper, plus walk Miss B.

Thanks for taking us on your hike! The colors were beautiful. We visited the NC arboretum in the spring just as the rhodies were putting on buds (no flowers yet). You live in a absolutely beautiful area of the country - one we really enjoy visiting. Of course, it helps that the people are all so very nice!
