Hi,

I (we) LOVE your Blog.

I think it's ashtray. Not that a teddy bear would know about smoking, but that side thingy - I've seen pictures of that before. It's very pretty.

Hugs (NO I don't smoke) It's all about smoke free here. (o:

Perhaps a Queen in Training needs one of those thing-ma-bobs for her fancy candy cigs!

I've been gone but not for long. Back to visit you. Miss you Diane.
Sending all things GOOD to come your way.

Jealousy is not good...but I'm so jealous of your weather. It's raining and really pouring and I'm so sick of it! There, it's not pretty, and I said it!

Husband having a birthday today...off to make dinner.

Hi Diane! I think it's a portable ash tray. I love your red folding table. The box with the shells, vintage books and the nest.. they are a bunch of cuteness! :)

A portable ash tray? I thought it was a pill dispenser. Hahahahaha...

Sweet record graphics...are you hanging those on a wall?

Nice table mat, too. I want to make a few for my refrigerator top.

It looks like a portable ashtray women took to parties? I don't smoke but it sure looks like a place for a cigarette to rest. Ick!

Hi Diane,

Yes, I think it is an ashtray but you could use it for something else.
I love your old records and the lovely mat you made for the table.

Happy week

My guess was an ashtray.. but I see everyone already guessed that. Maybe I should have said mini taco shell holder to be different?

It's a very pretty ash tray!!

That is totally a portable ashtray. It is too bad that smokers nowadays often use the ground as their ashtray. Seeing this reminded me of my grandmother. She was a true lady!

Im with it being a portable ashtray too - a very pretty one! Love all your goodies :o) Scarlett x

You DO find the coolest things, even those that are bad for you. I would display it with a pack of candy cigarettes, lol.

I'm glad you're lovin' this heat. I'm one of those who retreat inside with the a/c during this time of year. I did venture out on Saturday for a few hours and that was enough for me!

Everyone has already guessed but yep it's personal ashtry. Now the trick is to see how we can reinvent it. What can we use it for now? Makes a sweet little purse pill holder don't you think? :) Have a fabulous weekend

I guess i'm the only degenerate around here, i thought it was an opium holder...

The Main Twist said...

When cleaning after my grandparents had passed away I found something very similar to this. It is in storage now but when I get to it I will post a pic. A friend of mine that dabbles in antiques told me that it was a ladies ashtray. Back in the day it was not laldy like to smoke so this was used and resembled a compact so it was a bit more discreet. Not sure if that is the real story but it worked for me. I think the idea of pill holder is an excellent idea.
