You never know what you will see when
you get out into this great big old world!
We parked in a little side parking lot that has big shade trees...
got out and saw something ‘across the way’!
And the closer I got..
the more frantic this little guy was!
And then he fell down on his back...
and couldn’t get up!
My hubby saved the day by picking him up
and returning him to the nest!
But was Mama grateful? NOT exactly!
OK! We’re GOING!
Just a ‘day at the mall’ here in the
beautiful state of Florida! heehee!
(a peek at the downy nest!)
Poor, poor tiny baby!
I'm so glad that you were there!
Poor baby took a tumble,
what a little scare!
So glad that he was rescued,
and you saw him from the trees,
Momma duck was mad for sure,
But this filled my heart with glee!

cute story!! Have a nice day
That is so cute! Why couldn't he get back up? Maybe he was trying to play dead. Do ducks do that?
I laughed out loud and had to show my husband! So cute.
Aw poor baby. Can you imagine the bawling out he got from Mama?
Hello friend!!
only a true Southerner would stat out with"we parked in a little side lot which had a LOT of huge shade trees".. even here in Denver, I still do the same..so many tricks to keeping the car interior cool!
delightful story!! still smiling!!
have a beautioful day!
warm sandy hugs..

I so love this post.

Aw! Poor little guy! I am grateful y'all came along when you did.....
Awwww! Your hubby is brave! I merely walk past a bird's nest and they start to dive bomb me,lol
thanks for sharing those photos ..very sweet. It is amazing to me where many geese and dcks will cross roads and nest right in such very busy human inhabited places .
BTW, my Florida friend if you have a few moments, check out my updated post about the art my friend and I are developing..There is one piece called "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" That has a real sand base ..I am adding tiny blue crab, starfish, sand dollars that I make out of clay to it. Look up the May 25th post of mine and check it out I think you may like it

What a cute little duckling! Thank goodness you two were there to save the little fella and record the event, LOL!
Oh, this is so sweet. The poor little thing was so lucky you were there to rescue it. A few more waddles away and it could have had a much different ending. It's amazing that you were able to get pictures.
That is too cute! What a adventure...going to the mall!!
The baby was lucky you and your husband were there to rescue him.
OOOh, I'd want to take them all home and get them out of the parking lot! Your husband is a good man. Look at that angry mama!
OMG, I felt so sorry for that little guy on the ground on his back. I'm so glad that your husband rescued him.
Sweet story.

You guys came along at the right time, I am sure. Even though mama doesn't understand you got to admit she is a good mom anyways.
Have a nice weekend
Poor little thing! So glad he is ok.~Ames
Poor little thing...so glad you guys were there to help him.
That is just so adorkable! And what a lovely story too! Glad you were there to save the day, even though Momma wasnt too happy! LOL The most cute thing is that she did it in the middle of a parking lot! :)
Hugs,
What a beautiful little fuzzy duckling. I'm so glad for a happy ending.
I am so flattered that you shared my little poem! Love ya!
Now when I go to the mall all I see are mall rats...no cute ducks.

This is so precious!! I love it. What a cute little story. The photo of the little duckling on his back is so so cute. Glad your husband rescued him.
Such a cute fluffy duck, so pleased you were to the rescue.
Poor little guy! Glad you rescued him ... sad when our creatures have to make their homes in the middle of traffic space ...
awww bless im glad you notced him and put him back before anything bad happend x x
Aww I'm glad this had a happy ending. He looked so pitiful there on his back! What a good hubby, even if mama duck wasn't appreciative.
This is so cute...my husband even laughed...the duck on his back reminds me of our ferret..it's a favorite position for him. Enjoy NC and please continue blogging while your're away. I enjoy your blog so much. Oh, by the way...whenever we are going out, my husband says...go get the camera. So I think we will be taking it everywhere now. The vulture I have on my blog is something I have never seen and I have lived in the south all my life. That day we were ready to leave and I came back in the house to get the camera....sometimes you get unusual shots and sometimes nothing but you have to be ready.
Enjoy the NC mountains

Ah--so sweet.
Bravo for the rescue! In her heart you know that mama duck was grateful. She was putting on a brave front. Nancy
