Time for change…Mosaic Monday

I rang in the New Year with a new computer and we are still getting everything set up! Read “Crashing” into the New Year HERE!

I’m glad I had a few photos on my camera to make a mosaic!

Dec2011-001

I made this arrangement with the shells I picked up on Apollo Beach Christmas day. (here’s my HAUL!)

DSCN9824

My very favorite shell is the Atlantic Calico Scallop.

It’s the small shell with purple stripes. There are lots of variations, from solid white to dark purple..even shades of black or gray.

DSCN9839

It’s considered a common shell here in Florida but I love searching for them and pick up every one I find!

This beautiful glass tray was a gift from my friend, Debbie at The Love of the Sea blog. Thanks Debbie! You knew I would put shells in it eventually! heehee!

DSCN9837

I’m still getting used to my new computer so please be patient with me. Everything takes a lot longer when you’re learning so I’ll visit when I can!

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday!

Happy New Year everyone!

What a great collection of shells! You found some really pretty ones. I got a new laptop for Chritmas but, can't pick it up until Jan. 6. I am kind of dreading the whole "moving things over" to the new one though!

The shells are lovely. I have a little book on shells, which is the only way I know any names. You are right at home naming them and collecting them and using them so nicely in your decor. Perfect!

I'll say you made a haul girl. Sure wish I had a beach close by to walk on. Hubby has been sick so we've been hunkering down indoors. Hopefully we will get out tomorrow and enjoy our mild weather.

Reminds me of a Zen garden. Each stone when held has it's own quality to bring about feelings and thoughts worth remembering. Congrats on the new computer. I got a Kindle Fire and yesterday watched every episode of Pan Am that I did not even know was on TV. Watch little TV but my son said I would like things because of the time and reality of the 60's in this. I did love it. Blessings

I love shells too, and can't go to the beach without coming home with a bagful.

Oh boy, a new computer! Yes, it will take a while to get adjusted if it has a new operating system. I hope everything can be retrieved from your old one! Please, invest in an external hard drive so that you can do regular file backups from now on!

We had just done a backup onto an external hard drive when it happened. We always recommend this to anyone who has a computer...a must have!

Being from Florida how could I not love shells. They are treasures from the ocean.I use them in vignettes here and there. Mostly tuck them among other things in baskets or bowls and call them ornies.~Ames

Congratulations on getting a new computer, Diane! I'm sure you will enjoy it and get used to it soon.

The shells you collected are all so beautiful! I love to search for shells on our local beaches, but we don't have very much variety here except for clam and mussels and an occasional oyster. The tray you have them on is also very pretty.

Happy 2012!

WOW!! you really did get a haul! Beautiful shells. Good luck with the new computer!!

Good morning Diane, I'm up early so I can finally find time to visit after the very crazy busy holidays.

I didn't know you spend time in Florida too. The shells are treasures and I know they are hard to find. I grew up in FL and we used to go to Marco Island and collect fabulous shells. Not anymore, boy, has that place changed. It used to be remote and void of any construction when I was a girl.

Happy 2012 to you and yours.
Hugs, Jeanne
