Do you like the gourds on top of the china cabinet?
I keep changing things around
but I am finally happy with this arrangement,
I think!
I have a new follower that creates works of art out of gourds ... Jan's Gourds.
Aren't these gourds amazing?
I have read the first 50 pages of about 5 books lately and bombed out.
I was trying to be spontaneous and find some 'new' books
but I have found several books I would NOT read or recommend.
I need to go back and find the list you gave me
and request those!
Any others I could look for?
Here's a picture of 'my' library.
It's small but you can request books from the main library and I LOVE it.
I can walk up to the desk with my stack of books
and not even have to get my library card out...they know my name!
I love living in a small town!
We've had some beautiful stormy skies the past few nights!
It's beautiful here today...cool and breezy!
Enjoy your day!

I've had the same luck with books recently! I just started two that were not what I expected so they won't get finished.
We once lived in Oakridge Or and the library was upstairs above a business. Very small but so friendly and nice....I loved it.
Those are 'gorgeous gourds'!! I'd like to grow some some year and make birdhouses. I think that would be fun to paint them and give them away or keep ;) Good to hear from you too.
I've been looking for a good book too. I'm reading Sandra Brown's latest paperback but it really isn't holding my interest. I hope you get a list of good books to read so that I can add them to my book list too!
Those gourds look great there! I have some large ones that I use on my mantel in the fall. I am not quite sure how settled I will be in my new home this fall....hopefully we close on it this month sometime.
Hugs,
Penny
Your gourd arrangment is perfect.
I spent a lot of years living in a small town and I loved it.
I hope you find some good books to read.
Love that picture of the sky.

You'll like "Chin Up, Honey" by Curtis Ann Mathews. Read it on the plane to an from Boston, easy read.
I really like the gourds and all the decorating you have shared. Your new place has such pretty views. As for books...I've read a lot of duds this summer and find myself reaching again for some classic authors--like John Steinbeck--have you read all his?
Your top of cabinet looks lovely and I like baskets of hydrangeas, I have them on top of my hutch dresser.
The library looks great and much luck with getting some good books out.
Hugs

Love the gourds.
If you are in the mood for a light, but humorous read I would recommend "Can't Wait to Get to Heaven" by Fannie Flagg. I am reading it now and finding it very enjoyable.
Have a great weekend.
...all your hard work deserve an award! Congratulations!!!!
It's looking like Home Sweet Home!!
Love the print on your dining room wall...
Fall is my favorite season and the grouds are great!
That is so cool that the library already knows you!!
Happy Weekend!
Deb :)
Hi...thanks so much for entering my givaway. I notice that you said you have some roosters. Please consider joining the Rooster Party. We will have lots of fun.
I also love the color lavender!!!

Thanks so much for the kudos on my web page. I love working on the gourds and seem to aquire more then I need. I really need to get busy and work on the buffalo gourd. I love your arrangement and the colors on the gourd. Did you use minwax on them to achieve the vibrant colors? You ought to try beading some time. I would be happy to give you some info on doing it. Good job.
The gourds are perfest on top.Its beautiful.XXOO Marie Antionette
I can recommend "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie" ( forgot the author) It is a charming mystery in England in 1950. The sleuth is an 11 year old girl..I liked it!
Enjoy your small town and the library! [I'm also reading "Julie and Julia" and am off to see the movie tomorrow!]
I've had some trouble "getting" into books lately. I subscribe to so many magazines, some weeklies like Time and Newsweek, that it seems I can't get around to much else these days. I truly LOVE decorating and gardening magazines, and stalk the grocery shelves for those. I sure read a lot of blogs, for sure! Added you to my blog list.

I read lots of non-fiction. Lately I am reading about herbs. I am making my own lotion and oils and using the herbs I grow.
I also have taken up knitting and am reading all sorts of knitting books...I read cook books too...just like novels!
My nightstand has a stack of books from the library. Right now I am reading the myths from Norway....
I do think I want to move to a small town. I just love your views!

Love the gourds! The great thing about a space like that is that you can constantly change it to whatever tickles your fancy.
I read quite a bit but my tastes are all over the place! I do keep a list of what I'm reading/have read on my blog though if you want any ideas.
What a cute library you have!
