"Wednesday Wee Ones" and a few answers to questions!

I grew up in a small town in Arkansas and had the most wonderful childhood.

It was very much like growing up in Mayberry...from the Andy Griffith show.

I lived next door to my grandmother and near all of my close relatives and enjoyed playing with my sister and cousins. This must be Easter...and I must be hungry! lol

I'm the tall blond in this photo, with my sister and cousin, Cindy....my best playmates! My cousin Richard is the oldest and we really did not always want to play cowboys and Indians or WAR with him! lol

I look like a country kid in this photo and I'm wondering how dirty my dollie got in this photo shoot! My sister was SO shy!

But I have such wonderful memories and I wanted to share some old photos today.

This one is my mother and her sister with their precious dolls!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Aunt Margaret!

I also wanted to answer a few questions I've had lately about living in Florida.

We bought our house 5 years ago with plans to retire here and we have almost completed that goal. We have moved into a condo in the mountains of Western North Carolina and plan to spend the summers and some of the Fall months there. (We still have a big house for sale there, too....so we still have one too many houses! lol)

My husband grew up in South Florida and most of his family still lives here....all of his siblings do. So this is a great move for us and a wonderful place to live. I love the ocean so it truly is my dream home! (my cute hubby when he was little...he's still cute!)

And the furniture in the lanai? It's made right here in Florida. We ordered our pieces so that we could get coordinating colors and exactly what we wanted. The brand is Capris.... Capris website. I think it is very durable and has been popular for many years. I have seen vintage rattan furniture and it's nice! My hubby painted the blades of the fan to give us another pop of red in the room...one of my favorite touches!

Enjoy your Wednesday and remember to take time to PLAY!

Diane-those pictures are priceless! That looks just like you! I love seeing "old" photos of my loved-ones...and that was the start of my obsession with scrapbooking, but that's another story! Thanks for sharing. {hugs}

Diane...Rainbow Springs is so beautiful...I would never want to leave there. You are inpiring me to pack up the house and move to Florida. My daughter announced the other day she may move to N. Carolina...so I'll have a good excuse to travel down south!
I loved seeing your childhood pictures and it totally explains why you are so fun and have such a little girl spirit.
You are so lucky to have the pictures. Love the pic of your brother with his gun and your husband...it's a love story for sure.

I love this post! You are so adorable...as is your family. I hope everything falls into place with getting settled and selling your house. It's hard to decide what to keep where, but you always seem to have fun and make the most of wherever you are.

I loved your photographs. How much fun it is to remember when we were little. How lovely that you have such nice memories to give you joy. Moving can be so much fun, when all of your things look new in their new places. I think that where you moved is very close to Penny from Comforts of Home. What a beautiful place you have chosen to move to.

This is a wonderful entry! I love traveling down 'memory lane'...today would have been my Uncle's 101st birthday, so I have been walking down the pathway, too! I lost him in 1980..he was just like a Grandfather to me! Thank you for posting the pics, too! So cute! I'm not online much, but I always look forward to your posts! God bless you!

I love this post the most. Old vintage photos are priceless. I have a whole wall in my home dedicated to them - all old photos of my husband and me when we were little. Many relatives have seen and requested copies of those precious photos. Love ya...M
