Does anybody really wear those?

That's what the lady asked me when I was paying for this pretty little apron at my favorite Thrift Store.

DSCN6360

I told the lady that I wear one every day of my life! I had one on preparing lunch before I came!

DSCN6374

She said she could remember seeing her grandmother wear one....this from a lady old enough to be MY mother!

This is another pretty apron I love to hang on my pantry door....

DSCN6367

I love the detail! It even has eyelet fabric as the lining!

DSCN6369

I have some pretty aprons but what do I normally wear?

DSCN3218_thumb[7]

Or this one that I made using a pattern and fabric my sweet cousin, Cindy gave me....

And now a question for all of my best girlfriends in blogland!

What do you do when you feel blue?

I don't mean way down deep depression...which I know is real and deserves attention.

What do you do when you feel melancholy or low?

I clean.

Is that normal?

I put everything in order..and clean as I go. My study/sewing room is all cleaned up. Every scrap of paper is filed, patterns folded and put away, fabric on the shelves, thread and scissors in the sewing basket....trash emptied!

Now what do I do? I guess it will be easier to start a new project now! lol

Here's a little bag I made to put inside my beach bag for small items.

DSCN5917

I still have other ideas for this fabric....but that will have to wait! I'll live in my 'clean zone' for a little while longer and try not to feel blue!

DSCN5914

So what do you do when you feel blue...and how do you snap out of it?

Hope you'll comment and share your thoughts! (I think this is my record number of questions in one post! lol)

Those aprons are adorable! And yes - I do wear aprons but they are fairly plain. One is red, one is a small red and white stripe and the third one is a calico pattern my son bought me at a school Christmas sale one year.

Very cute blog!

Yes, I do wear aprons! One day I went across the street to pick up our mail and our neighbor boy asked what I had on. Well, I explained it's my apron...he seemed very puzzled. Then, I explained it was for working in and around the house. I love your apron collection. As far as what I do when I'm a little blue, well.....perhaps I dipped into the cookie jar one too many times, so I'm going to adopt your plan, well....it's so productive I just love it! THANKS Yvonne :)

I don't wear aprons but I always admire them. Yours are adorable!

When I get the blues I clean and organize. It makes me feel better to have control over something. :)

I haven't worn an apron since my professional cleaning days Because at home I clean in my scruffs :-)
I tend to spring clean when I am upset. Beware dirt :-)

I go antiquing when I am feeling blue....I just love to get out of the house and antique stores seem to inspire me.

What a cute little bag! I was thinking of introducing an apron into my kitchen, haha. I surely would wear that beauty with the sailboat..., well probably not, wouldn't want to mess it up; I'd hang it as a decoration.

I do not remember my grandmother without an apron around the house. When I am working with flour and I know I will get it all over me, I wear an apron. That little purse is adorable. I rarely get blue, I live in paradise (So. FL), but when it was 29 degrees and my house was 60 inside (we only have 'toaster' type heaters here) I slept January and February! Blessings, Janet

I wear an apron when I cook, because I always manage to splash something on myself. I like bib aprons best as they offer better cover. Your collection is cute!

Love your aprons!! I wear an apron too. My granddaughter and I have matching ones that we wear when we bake together. I also have another one that a friend made for me as a gift. My apron makes cooking more fun when I wear it!!
I've heard that aprons are making a big come back.

Such cute aprons!

If I feel blue, I take out my current book and then am in another world. Working on a sewing project that I never finished and need to get back to, and finishing it works, too. Accomplishment plus!

I do love all your pretty aprons and you look great modeling for us.
When I'm feeling blue I go for a long walk, do some cleaning, phone a friend or write a letter.

Hi,

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.

Lovely aprons -- I usually wear one when I cook, too. Cleaning really helps to get focused again -- I like to do that, too, when I am feeling down.

Greetings from Munich,
Birgit

I clean when I'm mad--I must be pretty happy, because the house is a mess!!

When I'm blue, just regular sad blue, it depends. Pray, always. Sometimes art. Sometimes reading, sometimes calling a friend.

(I wear aprons all the time, too!)

I "should" wear aprons more often...and not just for cooking. Art work or cleaning would be good times for it.
I think cleaning does cheer us up!
Also yoga, creative expresssion (indlucing blogging!) and often, unfortunately, shopping.

I do. I have one that is called a Japanese mamasan apron. I really like it becausre it has sleeves and can cover my blouses or shirts when I am frying something that spatters.

I bury my head in my apron and cry...no kidding...I've done that a few times. I just bought a frilly apron with a gift card at Pier I...shed a few tears lately over the store and my job...a real rotten week last week...but I've taken my happy pill and gulped big!
YOU are cute as a wink in that apron!

I don't wear one, but I love to see aprons! I actually still have one of my moms and one that I made out of the same fabric when I was little. Not sure I can sew any better now than I did then! LOL Anyway, when I feel blue, my 2 cats snuggle with me and they purr it makes me feel better. :-)

Fun aprons....Hmmm, what do I do when I feel blue? I try and get outside. The beach, the yard...air and sun have an amazing way of lifting the blues!

The best thrift store trips are when you find a pretty apron (or two!) I'm sorry you are feeling down, I hope you have a better week this week...I am like you when it comes to cleaning and feeling down. I like to stay organized almost to a fault.

I love to wear aprons when I am cooking as i often soil my clothes if I don't. I like full aprons with bibs for that reason. Your pink poodle apron is so cute!

When I'm blue a good brisk walk in the park cheers me up or I take a drive or subway ride somewhere new to explore. Walking in Manhattan is always exciting!

Hi Sweetie! You look so cute in that adorable red and blue apron! I wear them too, but mine are pretty old and stained. I really should work on getting some nice ones like yours...When I'm blue, I like to create. I always get happy when I'm creating! Hurry...run into your sewing room and make something, you'll feel better, I promise! That little bag you made is too precious! ...on second thought, you could always bake up a nice batch of brownies, that always works too! xo Paulette
