I don't recall seeing this one so I'm glad that you reposted it. What a handsome fellow and he did have me tricked!

Your house is beautiful and I love what you have done.

The egret is perfect. You were like the paparazzi hounding him!!!! What a perfect shot as he alights. Could it be someone is feeding him the odd shrimp or two?

I just love them and all coastal birds

Somebody's been feeding that bird. He's definitely looking for a hand-out.

What a great blog! I LOVE the color purple...and lavendar is my new favorite scent. I just took a trip to Provence, France and lavendar is everywhere.

Love the "live" bird in your decorations! Merry CHRISTmas!

I am so late commenting on blogs today, but I'm here now and wow, in the first photo I thought that was a Sand Hill Crane , then yes it was real but its Egret, amazing, do they often come in to people s yards what was he looking for, he looked beutiful with ther decorations, amazing.I see the spiral trees here as well, I think they're so pretty at night.

That is so cool to be able to look and see an Egret!! Your home is looking so pretty and festive!

How perfectly beautiful he was! So interested in the holiday decorations it seemed! Great photographs! YOU are quick with a camera! What a lovely neighborhood you live in. I wish ours was that nice..I really do!
High winds have destroyed our patio and yard. Even my swing was "torn asunder".. :(
We worked at getting some of our outside decor up..but it was almost too windy to do anything..and our front porch looked like a bomb had hit it!
Can't wait to see you all decorated!! I SHALL RETURN! lol

Beautiful and festive decoration. I thought the heorn is a still status, it's REAL. Lovely.

I totally thought the Egret was part of the decorations! It is so normal to see egrets, and flamingo's as part of someone's yard art here in Florida. Yup! I was fooled!

Alison said...

I think the bird was a secret Santa, inspecting the decorations and writing down who's been naughty and who's been nice. ;)

Musings from Kim K. said...

What fun. I'm sure he's one of Santa's helpers in disguise. Your decorated lamp post is darling.

OH MY GOSH! In the first pic I thought, 'how clever to put one of those birds in the white Christmas decor' . . . that is hilarious! Oh how I'd love to be celebrating Christmas in warm weather! I have yet to decorate outside and now I think I missed the mild days . . . will be doing it again in the freezing cold!

Simone @ Doberman's by the Sea said...

I remember those birds-I couldn't tell which ones where real and which ones were fake lol Cheers

Loved your visitor, he had me fooled at first. I guess he was checking out the neighborhood! :0)

Too funny! Ahhh, the pics of your neighborhood remind me of when I lived in Florida, many and many a year ago in a kingdom by the sea (i.e. Sarasota).

It's definitely a little different decorating for the holidays here in Florida! I love watching the egrets. They are so graceful and snowy white! Even if there isn't any snow :)

How exciting to have had an egret next door to photograph, and how funny that, for a while, he was a part of the decorations.
