Holiday Pillows

I needed new pillows....oh really? haha! I have so many throw pillows that I have a hard time getting them into my linen closet! But I had some fabric...and I was in the sewing mood!

I’m lucky to have a huge fabric store close to our condo in NC. It’s a great place to look through the remnants. They sell a lot of drapery and tapestry type fabric by the pound so you can get some really good deals if you’re willing to ‘dig’!

I have a Lady of Shallot theme in my bedroom.

The first pillow I made was for my bed....

to bring it into the winter season!

Then I got smart and made some pillow covers!

I made a little envelope on the back so that I could take

pillows I already had and slip them inside!

The sun is so bright in Florida today that it is hard to get photos !

They were fun to make and will be easier to ‘cram’

into the already full linen closet when the season changes!

I’m on a roll now....ready to make more!

AND YES...the back of all of these is the RED fleece blanket

I bought for fabric at Walmart...Made in America!!!

Do you think I need some plaid pillows for my red sofas?

Do you like to change a few things out for the winter season?

Love them, clever idea to make them as pillow covers. The mint bark candy pillow would make for some very happy dreaming:-)

The red pillows are gorgeous! I like to cover throw pillows too - its a great (inexpensive) way to change things up. Yours look MUCH better than mine tho! LOL!

well done! Beautiful addition, makes everything so very christmassy, I love the one on your bed, because everything is creamy light colors that new pillow just pops and its wonderful, you are so liucky to be close to the fabric store, I am just a few blocks from ours also and I spend way too much time there!!

What a beautiful job. I wish I could sew. I'm handy with a glue gun and paint brush but I didnt inherit the sewing gene.

Very nice pillows! I have started to make my pillows covers changeable too. There's just too many cute fabrics and not enough storage room for all the pillows I'd like to make.

Well first of all -- let me say how exceedingly jealous I am to see those green trees and sunshine out your patio doors! Love the Winter Wonder and Ever Green pillows! I don't change things out in the other rooms but I would like to some day!

Just wanted to tell you that I also purchased a $10 blanket at Wal*Mart based on your post. I hadn't thought of making pillows with it as I'm using it for baby quilts. You were right...it's a lot of material for the money and will go a long way.

The beautiful Lord Alfred Tennyson ballad The Lady of Shallot. I love this also. I also have that same print by Waterhouse. One can never have enough pillows, can we, Diane :)

Great to see the results of your sewing spree!
Looking at your photos has helped me feel more like getting it to look like Christmas here....with the kids not coming this year, I am less enthused!
Thanks for the ideas!

I love your soft furnishings. It's neat how you can change the look of a room so easily with them.
