A Clean swept beach!

We spent a couple of days at Canaveral National Seashore and enjoyed the warm sand and cool surf but there weren’t many shells.

PMShells13July12

I love being at the ocean any time though.....

DSCN3797

and of course I picked up a ‘few’ shells.

DSCN3954

I love sorting....

DSCN3958

(and yes, if that looks like a pile of neat looking rocks...it is...and an Army man! heehee!)

DSCN3965

and seeing what ‘special finds’ we made!

Summer may be winding down for some of the country but here in Florida, we’ll enjoy the beach even more when it cools down some.

I’m joining Mary for Mosaic Monday

and Diane for Beautiful Sunday

and Sunny Simple Sunday !

Enjoy your day!

We are going down to St. George Island at the end of October, and it is always so nice at that time of the year. January and February are my favorite months, usually we get down for a few days - hubby always saves some vacation days.

Love all the shells that you picked up. Brings back memories of my trips to the beach...while the kids were playing in the ocean, I was collecting shells. What a great find the little army man was!! Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos...I'm ready to pack my bags and head for the beach now.
hugs,
Cindy

The Canaveral Seashore is one of Florida's treasures that I will surely miss. I think you did quite well with your shells! Ann

I don't think I've ever been to that beach. You still got some nice shells. I always like finding something different, like the army guy. I was on a beach at the Illinois Dunes today on Lake Michigan. No shells, but lots of gorgeous stones. I'll have to do a post on that.

Now that's quite "a few." The bonus was the army guy, right? What a lot of nice shells and good colors for your craft projects. You'll probably never run out.

Hi Diane,

Beautiful beach and I enjoy collecting shells on the beach here.
It is great to go after a storm when you often find a lot.

Happy week

Hi Diane!
Ahhhhh....Now that's heaven! How I love strolling along the beach searching for shells. You have found so many spectacular ones! My sister and I spent last weekend at the Oregon Coast and we had so much fun beachcombing. Unfortunately, we didn't find very many...Mainly 50 cent pieces from sand dollars. But, oh, just the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt air and the feeling of sand between our toes..that was enough!
Thanks for posting on Elaine's lovely blog.

Oh, what lovely shells! I've never sorted mine like that, you are so organised!
I love the beach, but I have to wait till it cools off a bit before I can go, I can't take the heat!

I love to beachcomb - or just to walk on the beach. The feel of the sand underfoot, and the sound of the surf are restorative.

Wonderful! I love the beach. When we lived on Galveston Island, we never went to the beach until Octovbr or November --- once the tourists were gone! And always looked for shells. Fun! But I was never as organized as you!

Yes, sadly, nice shells seem to have gone missing, Your photos are beautiful, especially of the clouds! The clouds are so much prettier down in Fl or the tropics.
I like your new header. Have a good week

Well for there not being any shells, you sure picked up a haul -- haha! Love the army man - so funny! I'm sure it's nice when the tourists are gone in a few weeks! We're looking forward to heading to St. Simon's Island, GA in 2 months - we love that time because it's still hot but not crowded.

You found some beeeautiful calico scallops! What a nice collection of shells and stuff to bring home ;) I would have picked up the army man, too...he doesn't belong in the ocean! I also pick up rocks, and anything that catches my eye. I guess it's true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm glad that you and I see "eye to eye"
(wink)
I must get over to Canaveral one of these days! It's beautiful!

You are really blessed to visit the beach so often. I love your treasure finds :). Have a great week!

Great finds, Diane. Love the star and the Army man too. ;) We are fortunate to live here indeed, my friend. Best shells I've found so far are in Sanibel and Sarasota, Longboat Key to be exact. Now I am craving a drive to the beach. When not. ;)

Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Enjoy your Monday.
XOXO's,

What wonderful finds! It is addictive! You get a stiff back from just looking for one more shell. My mother-in-law takes us to Sanibel Island. It was a treasure trove to me- I am used to northern shores and busted shells (still beautiful though) of the Outer Banks! Thank you for sharing your tropical paradise!
