I found one!
I bought two of these houses last December at the Thrift Store.
Most of you remember the Firehouse (Vee helped me decide that’s what it must be!)
and then last week I found a few more.
I’m not sure what I should do with them.
Do they look good on these shelves? Should I glue seashells to the roofs?
This one didn’t have a proper roof!
(some of them are fixer uppers! heehee!)
I’m just not sure what to do with them but they are handmade and I have a weakness for anything handmade! Any ideas?
I’m joining Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and Brenda at the Cozy Little House for Tweak it Tuesday.

beautiful houses..
love for you x
I think they found their home right there on the shelves! They are wonderful...look so homey! :)
Oh-they are so cute- I think they look nice on the shelves and I don't think I would give them shell roofing...but that might be cute, too- xo Diana
You know I love flipping little houses, but they are darling just the way they are. I tend to decorate little houses seasonally. I have bunch of putz houses I'm flipping for an Easter village.
I love the fact that they're hand made. What a find, Diane! I'd leave them just as they are, not add shells to them. I like them sitting on the shelves with the books. :-)
They look darling on the shelves. Not sure about the seashell roof... =D
Love those adorable houses they look perfect anywhere!!
Very cute!
I like the houses! They look good on the shelf :) Maybe you can find bigger shelf and make a miniature town with miniature people and other tiny things. It's always interesting to look at such mini towns. And then you could decorate your mini town for every holiday - like Christmas and Halloween. That's what I would do if I had few houses like that :)
I'm into little! Love the houses and displaying them on your shelf looks proper to me. However, the "giant" seashell, although practical for roof repair, just seems a little misplaced, tee hee! But there's no reason you couldn't set up a Beach Town, XOXO
Oh they're cute! The property market must be on the up again so buy while you can!
I've always loved little handmade houses. The book shelves are a nice place to display your wonderful collection. Perhaps re-roofing with something closer to the original material would work better than the shell. ;0)
You found a great village at that!
They look darling the way you have them!
Yes dear, let's all walk with a spring in our steps!
Pick those citrus and enjoy,
Sharon
They look so lovely. How about making a street scene on a piece of MDF where you can then make gardens for them too? Christmas scenes, easter scenes, etc etc. Chel x
They are precious so please keep them! I'm a no on the shells on the roof also. They look so cute as they are...I can see a little one enjoying playing with them! Hugs, Linda
Very cute. I'm the same way about handmade!! You'll find the perfect spot.
They are sweet Diane.
Okay, now I see that you spend winters down this away! It's been too cold of late, though!
I don't know what to do with your village buildings. A seashell roof ain't gonna do it, though. I mean, really, have you ever seen a seashell roof?
I only see seashells on the shore by the sea where shells show up seasonably!
I think they'd look nice with a low 4-watt bulb in them for a nightlight. Very sweet find.
Cindy
I love your growing village. :-)
I think they are adorable and look perfect on your shelves. I wouldn't put seashells on them, but that's just me.
Fixer uppers are the best kind, right?
That is what I tell myself EVERYDAY!
Love your little houses I am sure you will display them perfectly!
How adorable. Love them on the shelf :)
Love them tucked in the shelves.
What a find.
No shells for me ..
Woolie Hugs

Giggles I love it! Some of them are fixer-uppers... ;P
Love the little firehouse.
These are adorable. I can imagine them all decked out for Christmas. I think a little town would be so cute.
Those houses remind me of the ones I made during our craft in school. It was so interesting and exciting :-)
Oh I think they are adorable!..I have bought some of these from a thrift store myself only mine are smaller.. I love to fix them up too. I think yours will look good no matter where you put them..
Such a nice collection of little houses!!
I think the houses look great in the bookcase! I like the little truck with the firehouse.. Have a great week, Laura
What a sweet little village!! I think they look great on your shelf.
hugs,
Cindy
The handmade houses are so cute! The first thing I thought about was how they would look all white. But I am in the painting mode, so don't mind me...
The village is very pretty set. Love them. I love everything handmade. It is the best. Hugs Judy
Diane, I need to come visit you! The thrift stores up here never have the good stuff you are always finding! Hugs PattiM : )
I love your village! Thanks for your sweet remarks on my blog! hugs to you!
I love them and they look great on the shelf! Your new colorful blog header is amazing too!
What a nice collection of houses and the fact that they are homemade is a plus...I think they are pretty the way they are:)!
Hi Diane,
What a lots of cuteness all in one post. I think your addition of shells is the perfect touch. It's such a reflection of your life there in the sun.
Today, my hubby and I will be traveling over the snow covered mountains back home. I'll think warm thoughts of you and your sunny home as we drive along.
Blessings and fond friendship,
Carolynn xo
what darling houses! You've got a little village started. Now you need to create a little town. Love the old truck too. Add some small dolls, trees, decorate for Holidays etc. It's just right up your alley!
sandy :)
They are too cute....
You know, this might be extreme, but all painted a lovely shade of cream they would be beautiful.
Jen
Very fun! They make really cute decorating accents, don't they? There is probably a lot you can do with them, I would think.
Ruth
I love the little houses! It's amazing what you can find at thrift stores. I'm a new follower. I also love the painting in your most recent post, I love love the bottles and the shells you have in a vignette underneath it. I look forward to hanging out here, I'd love you to visit me whenever you have the time.
I love...love...love your little village! You know me and my love for the color RED...It's delightful!
I'm so glad you shared your thrifting adventure!
Smiles,
Carolynn xoxo
