A little Traveling companion

Sometimes I DO bring along a little companion

IMG_1969

~Meet Sandy~

but that’s not what I’m talking about this time.

I like to take a small pillow when we travel.

It’s nice to prop up your arm or put behind your neck.

Hubby dug through the camping gear we still have and gave me his REI pillow.

IMG_2412

And I made a little envelope style pillow cover for it.

IMG_2413

I love making pillow covers because you can easily wash them.

IMG_2415

Of course I had to embellish it a little to make it pretty. (I used soft lace instead of a button to keep it comfy)

IMG_2414

I’m ready to GO!

IMG_2416

I’m joining Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and Brenda at the Cozy Little House for Tweak it Tuesday.

Do you have any travel tips to share?

Love your pillow case fabric. I make those envelope style cases also. Easy on and off, so you can wash them. Looks like you are ready for a day trip. xoxo,Susie

Very nice pillow cover! And I bet Sandy wouldn't mind being a pillow too. :-)

My most important travel tip: Pack Light. Never take more than what you can put in a carry-on.

When we travel out west this summer, I think we might need a few traveling pillows. Darling.

Good Morning Diane,
Very cute pillow!!! Love the fabric.
Thanks for visiting my blog. The best part of having a giveaway is meeting new bloggers.
Enjoy your day,
Leanne

That pillow cover is just darling! I love the flower accent you put on there. It just kills me to see all these decorator pillows in the stores that have shells and sequins on them....how comfortable is that? I know they're for decor, but really if you can't lay your head down on one without poking an eye out, what's the real purpose of a pillow?

Hugs,
Meri

I always take a pillow with me but now I can see I need to get busy and make it cute instead of utilitarian. Thanks.

Cute cover you made! I also travel with a small pillow. Those headrests never seem to hit my neck at the right spot.

Enjoy your travels.

I love your pillow cover, the fabric is so pretty!

My travel tip is to take a small cooler to chill some water bottles and a few snacks that aren't too messy to eat in the car. And pack light! We always seem to take too much.

Have fun traveling!

Your little pillow cover is so fresh and pretty and perfect for traveling. It's nice that you made the cover removable, too.

How clever you are! I make the same envelope style pillow cases/covers too and for the same reason....you can take them off and wash them.
You did a gorgeous job on it especially with your embellishment. Where did you get the ranch pic at the top of your blog? Love it!

I have been thinking about buying a sewing machine so I can whip up pillows and covers for myself. Very cute.

Cutest pillow! I love it...I need to do something similar for my neck. My "sweet" dog ate the washable cover on my pillow. Think I will try the envelope style. Thanks for posting, Linda
