Crochet your own seashells AND a Giveaway!

My girlfriend, Judy from CJ’s Stitching and Blooms has been surprising me with postcards from Michigan. I’ve never been to that state so it’s great fun to get a variety of postcards from the area that she lives in. And then one day, I got a package with seashells….YES…seashells that she made!

PostIMG_2588

Aren’t they the cutest? Thanks Judy!

I made the bowl, Judy made the seastar!

BlueBowlIMG_2578

Of course she showed darling little bowls on her blog so I got busy crocheting up a storm. I’m probably the only person you know that can use the same pattern and come out with a different creation every time! heehee! I TRY to follow directions…really I do.

BlueIMG_2577

I even made the little sea star for this coral bowl.

CoralIMG_2581

I told you….I’m having WAY too much FUN this Spring! I made a bracelet, too!

IMG_2585

But our weather is fabulous and we’re either on the go or I’m sitting in the lanai, crocheting, reading or visiting with all of you! It’s a good thing my hubby likes to grill or we would starve!

IMG_2586

Have you made anything new for Spring?

What inspires you?

And just for fun…

RedIMG_2582

does anyone want this Americana potholder. Yes, it was supposed to be a bowl but it got bigger and flatter the more I crocheted. It could be a candle mat or a trivet.

RedIMG_2583

Leave a comment IF you want it and I’ll draw a winner in a couple of days. Anyone can enter!!! (just don’t tell anyone I used a pattern for a BOWL to make it! We girls need a FEW secrets! hahaha!)

Love your bowls and the sail boat!!

Please don't be upset....but I had to laugh when you said the American mat started as a bowl.:):) Those little bowls would be good to hold cotton balls. Oh I know what you mean about your husband grilling...Ted used to grill more than he does now...that helped me , less clean up in the kitchen. I am all for men grilling out. xoxo,Susie

I crochet like that too, Diane! And so tight, I need to learn to relax while crocheting!! Count me in, Sweetie, for the patriotic "mat". ;-) xo

You are so funny! I would love the potholder to put out with my Patriotic items. Love your sailboat with Uncle Sam. I crochet like you do - only worse. My stitches are so tight that nothing ever comes out like it is suppose to. That's why I don't do it anymore!

How super darling are these crochet bowls!! Each time I see something like this (same with knitting) I want to make something. All you need to make a vision come alive is yarn and needles.

Hi Diane...I've been crocheting like crazy here too. I've been making a bunch of pretty crocheted ruffled scarves for my upcoming shows in the Fall.
Happy crocheting bowls and/or pot holders!! LOL...

I'm going to go visit CJ's blog. It is new to me, but being born and raised in Michigan, I need to check it out. Her little shells are so cute and are a very thoughtful gift.
Your bracelet and bowl are also adorable. Glad to hear you are having so much fun this spring!

Wow, you've accomplished a lot of projects! Love your sea themed crochet. I'm partial to the sea star. (still call them a starfish) I'm very lucky that my hubby grills too, or else I would starve too!
