Florida in just One Day

We love to pack a picnic lunch and drive to a favorite beach.

OceanIMG_2454

One day last week we drove to Canaveral National Seashore and spent the day on the beach.

Canaveral

And some of the sights we saw were surprising.

There were TONS of seashells this time and aren’t the bottle caps that hubby found cute?

5Apr

But don’t you love the ‘unexpected’ when you travel?

While we drove home, I made a list of some of the things we had seen that includes an eagle, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes and brown pelicans, a hawk and several osprey, dolphins, a small airplane doing stunts over the ocean and the Met Life Blimp!!

How amazing!

We drive by this ‘Ranch’ every time we go to the beach but this time hubby pulled over for me to get a proper photo! (more commonly called a horse farm here in Florida)

It was a GLORIOUS day!

What a wonderful day. Memories are made of this! I think your idea of thinking over all you saw was so good. I don't know about you but I do tend to take things fore granted and just forget all that I've seen. A lovely post...thanks. Joan

Canaveral Seashore is such a beautiful, natural beach. We used to go there quite a bit when our children were little. Just the drive through the protected wildlife refuge itself was a treat. Thanks for bringing back some happy Florida memories! Ann

Sounds like a day in Heaven to me. I'll be so glad when warm weather gets here to stay. But, even then, we don't have those beautiful beaches.

Enjoy!

Beachcombing and collecting shells is such a therapeutic pastime!!
The ranch looks inviting too!
Daphne has just joined my blog and so I visited hers and saw your exquisite card with the gossamer layer - did you make it Diane.
Your writing is beautiful too - not easy to keep it up as we get older!
