If only I could be a Mermaid!

YIKES! I said I wanted to be a MERMAID….

DianeIMG_2134

NOT a Manatee! hahaha!

Well, at least we can go to Weeki Wachee and SEE the Mermaids!

And what an amazing show!

Here’s an idea of what we saw when the curtains went up!

I cropped my photos to create a prettier Mosaic.

“The Little Mermaid” is acted out with the greatest of ease, underwater here at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. (with just one scene on the stage)

They warn you that the story has some scary parts….

but I won’t give it all away!

If you are ever in this part of the state (Spring Hill, Florida)…it’s a MUST SEE! You can google it for more info, photos, and videos. I’ve had such fun learning more about it since we got home. I’m so glad it’s close by so that we can go again! (and if I owe you a visit or an email, I’m WAY behind! We’re having so much FUN this Spring….but I’ll visit soon!)

I’m joining

Beautiful Sunday,

Sunny Simple Sunday,

Mosaic Monday,

and Sundays in my City!

I love the manatee. Such gentle giants. Little Mermaid under water must be so cool to see.

I read somewhere that ancient sailors believed that manatees were mermaids. I've seen manatees, they are not even close to the beautiful creatures I imagine mermaids are. Still they are fascinating.

I didn't know they still gave those underwater performances. Wonderful. You sure make a cute manatee.:):) xoxo,Susie

I went to Weeki Wachee a few times when I was a little girl. For an embarrassing number of years when I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said I wanted to be a mermaid. lol. I haven't been there in nearly 20 years... I think it's time to go back! :)

Oh that looks like so much fun-I have never heard of a mermaid show before.
Have a good week

I can't believe they still have the Mermaid show at Weeki Wachee!!
My sister wanted to see the mermaids for her 10th birthday in 1968, so we drove down from St. Augustine to watch a show and drove home. Doesn't look like it's changed a bit :-}}

I so want to visit Weeki Watchee and swim with Manatees. It's on my bucket list. I just saw an episode of My Crazy Obsession about a guy who makes mermaid fins and swims there occasionally. I think it's really cool.
