For two years, I participated in the ‘Letters for a Month’ sponsored by Mary HERE. Last year and again this year I sent out notes and letters every day for more than a month. (I continued into March both years and this year I sent a total of 40 cards and letters.) It’s a wonderful way to connect with friends and family and a great way to make new friends!
Some of my friends are sweet to send me notes, too and one thing that has been special is the postcards.
(Yes, the Florida postcard was made especially for me by Sharon in Alabama! I NEVER get Florida postcards! heehee!)
I’d like to say a special thanks to Lynn at Present Letters and Becky Povich for introducing me to this program last year and for continuing to be such good friends and penpals. They are both talented writers!
Next year I’m going to participate with postcards only. It will make it easier for me and I think it’s something everyone enjoys.
What do you think? Do you like to receive postcards? Do you have a little ‘collection’ like I do?
My hubby bought this one for me a few days ago….which will lead to another post…coming to a Florida blog near you! heehee!

How fun! And who doesn't love receiving post cards in the mail. They're always such a welcome sight, especially when you're expecting only bills. :-)
I do love postcards. I buy old ones at junk shops sometimes. You sent me a nice card this year...if your address had been on it I would have sent one back. I love to write and recieve letters and cards. Enjoy today.xoxo,Susie
I love postcards...especially old ones. We're taking the girls on a trip out west this summer and we can't wait to collect postcards to remember our journey.
I love post cards!! Whenever I was sent to different places in the army I would always send a postcard from that location to my mom!!
Post cards are fun! And a little less expensive to mail and a little less space to fill. =D
I love to get a postcard......funny post...love Ria...xx..
Only post cards I ever get are from my dentist reminding me of my cleaning appointment. :0D
I've always bought postcards on all our trips as a little souvenir mostly because they don't take up too much space!
Have a great day!
I collect Florida postcards too. FYI - my mom was in the Weeki Wachee mermaid school the summer of 1955. She was accepted as a full-time mermaid but her father said "only hussies are mermaids" and made her quit. lol
Aww sweet..
Love from South Africa x
I know you enjoyed this! I have a collection of post cards. I like to send one to myself from a new place so I have the post mark and all. It's really fun! I promise you a postcard from Paris in the fall!
hugs,
Linda
I do love postcards, but cannot find them in any store here in Alabama. 'Only found some online. It's like they are a relic of the past around here. Not even our local museums or the local historical home of blues/jazz singer W. C. Handy has any in their gift shop. Where do you buy postcards?
Wow ... two days in a row you've surprised me; thanks for the mention! So happy you enjoyed the postcard I made; it was inspired by a template from Susan Branch in conjunction with her forthcoming new book, A Fine Romance. I'll send you a 'professional' Alabama postcard when I find one (at the beach souvenir shops, I think).
Hugs back,
Sharon in Alabama
Judging from the comments above Diane, yours is a lovely idea! Postcards it is!
The Alabama lady is right, for some reason, postcards here (Pacific nW coast) are not so popular. We always buy a stack to send abroad (family, sponsored servicemen and children, etc...)and we are often asked if we are 'visiting'! Europeans are more likely to send postcards when traveling also I am told and less greetings cards.
All the best Friend,
What fun, Diane! I LOVE your new header. I suppose that flock is multiplying daily? xo Diana
What a great idea, Diane. Sounds like a perfect exchange.
Stopped by to daydream a bit and to see if you had an email subscription so I can keep up with your posts as I take this blogging leave. I don't see one but I'll still keep up.
I decided to add a line to my last post giving my leave a little hope to return in autumn...perhaps. :)
In the meantime, I look forward to staying in touch, my friend.
Hugs
What a wonderful idea! I love sending and of course recieving postcards. It's so fun.

Post Cards are fascinating! I like the old historical post cards..they tell a story from yesteryear. It's FuN to learn the history behind the pictured scene.

I love the postcard idea and how fun to get them from all over the world!
I love postcards, especially old family postcards. I have one from WWII that my grandmother sent to my dad. They are just so interesting.
Thanks for sharing.
I think postcards are great. They remind me of summer vacations when I was a kid.
Hugs,
Laura
What a fun activity! I always keep postcards, although I hardly receive any nowadays! Thanks for the blog comment too; ATCs are fun because they go quick and are easy to stop and pick up again when the phone rings (or whatever!).
So much fun! I LOVE Post Cards!!!! Love them all but my favorites are of peeps/old family ones!
Hugs to you sweet lady~
xoRebecca
I can;t wait to read about that!
I love mail of any kind! I can't remember the last time I got a post card. What a wonderful idea!

This is such a great idea! I do write to a couple of fellas in jail but it takes me weeks to finish the long letters! Ha ha! I write them in-between to-do's! Just think you could get a scrap book and fill it with these beauties! And then another and another.... I love coming here!
Hello From Michigan. How do I join the Post Card swap or is it just with you??? I love post cards and have collected them for a very long time. I would love to send you one from Michigan. Let me know, thanks Hugs Judy
Diane, thanks so much for your very kind words about me! Yes, the friendships we make, no matter how or where, are one of the best things in life....and so are handwritten notes! :)
