I never imagined myself as a doll maker. I’ve collected dolls for almost 20 years now and I’ve always loved sewing. But I just now got brave enough to create some dolls of my own.
I’m still working with ‘free’ patterns so the biggest challenge for me is the outfit.
I want to make something more ‘creative’ but for now I’m keeping it simple. Must have some bloomers though, Nana Diana! lol
I twisted up her hair, too. No stringy hair for this little girl, Susie! haha!
This little girl started off in one direction but when I finished up her details on Sunday afternoon, I knew I would name her Sunday.
I found this old tablecloth at the thrift store last week.
Aren’t the washed out soft colors beautiful?
I’m joining Make it Pretty Monday and
Brenda for Tweak it Tuesday.
I’m also joining a doll challenge HERE for FUN!
Enjoy your Monday!
It’s my favorite day of the week!
Another pretty day to hang out in the lanai.
What are you doing today?

Oh my what a dear one is she.
I love her twisted bun hair.
I will be in the fields mowing..
And singing.
Woolie Love to you Friend
How sweet, love the blond hair, Blessings Francine.
She is just adorable! Love her bloomers and little Bible, and her hair...too cute!
Blessings,
Cindy
What a sweet doll - you are quite talented!
Today is my day to plan our week (outings, chores, meals, that sort of thing). Hubby and I are retired, but if we don't impose some structure, the week whizzes by and we feel a bit, well, deflated! Even if we let spontaneity take the reins here and there, planning on Mondays helps us clarify our goals!
I love the name and "sew" appropriate! XOXO
Another cutie pie. I like how you're using the different materials.
We're home from the lake and I'm working all week. Gotta pay the bills. :-)
You have talent. She is adorable. The fun thing about doll making is that you can find bits and scraps of lace and material. In my search for lace, I discoverd pretty blouses at the the thrift store (ARC) made of lace, with pin tucks and pretty trims that I plan to use to make depresses for my century lold German dolls. You find such cool stuff, I wonder what sort of textiles you find for doll making? Sunday is sweet.
She is precious and so dainty! You have quite a talent there!! Today, I'll be checking my list for our vacation towards the end of the week.
Hope you enjoy a super great week...
Okay, Diane, that is just way too cute! And I love the little bows on her feet. I like Mondays too. Feels like I have a chance to start over and accomplish something. :-) What I plan on doing today is sorting and cleaning. Hard to know where to start. The books and vintage items are starting to encroach upon my personal space!
How cute! Love her dress. We kind of match-- I'm wearing a pink shirt today.
She's adorable Diane, but then again, everything you do is!
I'll be hanging around the house today, taking some pics, picking some flowers and maybe working on some jewelry storage. It's a gorgeous day, so maybe a quick kayak on the lake is in order, or a quick walk to keep my knee moving.
Have a great week!
She is beautiful! Keep this up and you will soon start painting eyes! What am I doing today? After a 2 mile run in this Texas humidity I need to get back to my doll making. Have one finished and two that need dresses.
Have a wonderful week Diane and keep on sewing. You are one very talented lady.
Sweet hugs
Pat

Diane,
Sunday came out really cute. I bet you could get a lot of pretty material from the thrift, I know when I'm at my thrift I see lots of pretty sheets and tablecloths and curtains. Great way to get material. The piece you got is really pretty, washed to softness.
Nancy Jo
You are so talented....I think you're the next "Tilda" as your sweet little girl looks like a Tilda creation especially with her hair do.
Sunday is so sweet! I love the way she is carrying the 'Word' with her too.
Pretty tablecloth, Diane. Will you leave it as is, or create something new with it?
Oh my goodness! You are a doll maker! I love her. She is sort of Jane Austen like in her dress. I love that I can only see her eyes. Very artistic expression! xoxo

This is my favorite one so far...her sweet face...how do you manage that with eyes only...her beautiful hair sweetly coiffed...darling dress and bloomers. Sunday is very cute.
Oh I love this one! Love her sweet, simple face and the way you did her hair. The dress is just perfect for her. Now, WHY on earth is Monday your favorite day of the week? It's definitely my least favorite -- I start work on Mondays at 7:00 a.m. -- blech! LOL
Sunday is adorable. Here in Oklahoma, we're just watching a slow and gentle rain. We need it so bad - so can't complain.
Judy
