You can never have too many!
And they are so much fun to make!
They are addictive!
Stephanie showed us how to make them HERE! Her tutorial is great and easy to understand.
I made a couple a little bit bigger. Maybe for a mug!
I used fabric from my stash and antique lace from the thrift store.
But then I wanted to just ‘look’ when I went to Wally World and I ‘may’ have bought just a couple of sewing related things.
I’ve never had any batting and this will come in handy for a lot of projects.
I used an old quilted pillow sham for the first few I made. It’s already padded.
My little tea tin is over 25 years old. Don’t worry, the tea has been replaced many times over! haha!
And this is my favorite tea cup. It’s nice and big and keeps tea hot. (the brand on the bottom is biscuit, and I got it at the thrift store for a nickel)
I’m joining the Vintage Inspiration Link party HERE,
and Roses of Inspiration.

Wow Diane, it's so nice that you and Stephanie are so talented with sewing! I saw Stephanie's wonderful tutorial on how to make the tea cup coasters. Your tea cup coasters look just as nice and beautiful as the ones that Stephanie made! Hope you have a wonderful week Diane!

Morning, that is so sweet, love the coasters and tea cup.Blessings Francine.
What a great idea. I do have plenty of scraps. I am always on the lookout for vintage laces and trims, but I don't have much success. I will have to keep this idea because the next time we have Aftenoon Tea perhaps my friend and I can make them for party favors.
Oh Diane, I LOVE them!! And using an old pillow sham WITH the batting is very clever, my friend :) Yes, the tea cup coasters are rather addicting, aren't they. I'm not sure how many I've made...a lot.
Thank you so much for sharing them with us and for linking up with Roses of Inspiration. I love having you at the party. Hugs to you!

So very sweet - and I love the lace you got at the thrift store - I need to head out one of these days and look for lace ( my dolls love lace on their clothes). Enjoy your happy day with tea my dear.

Thank you for the link to the coasters! I see these being made very soon :) I have a collection of Celestial Seasoning tins, except mine are the small ones. I use them to hold pins and other small sewing, crocheting and cross-stitch accessories. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Deb
Beautiful coasters, Diane for your favorite mug or teacup! And the tin is real pretty too!

I need to show these to my mother...the sewer and tea drinker! Adorable!!
Those are adorable! Love how you added lace. Cute!
Hugs to you Sis,

What a great idea. I am not a sewer by machine. My friend is a professional one in N.B.
She made me two nice teatowels to hang on the stove for hands for my birthday.
Have you ever tried that.
It comes in handy when in kitchen when have dirty hands or flour on your hands too much.
These are cute coasters for tea cups you made. Too bad they have to be hidden and not show your pretty work.
these are great!! I sure wished I had paid more attention in my homemaking class when it came to sewing. I can hem, but that is about as far as it goes. Maybe there is hope yet..for me!
Thanks for sharing these adorable pads.
