I took one of the best photos I think I’ve ever taken.
This is IT!
I thought about doing a post with just ONE photo!
But then what would I do with all the rest?
Waste them?
And then I had another thought.
There are a lot of beautiful birds.
Mrs. Buzzard asked Mr. Buzzard if he thought she was the most beautiful bird.
And look what he said!
And what about this stork?
He’s beautiful too!
Well, maybe just one more Flamingo photo of my best photo cropped! lol
All taken at Homasassa Wildlife Park.
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’ and
How Sweet the Sound Pink Saturdays!

Oh, Diane! That is an absolutely gorgeous snap of the flamingo! Aren't they the most beautiful creatures? You sure do live in a picturesque place! Have a great weekend.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
You are not kidding! Gorgeous! The colors are simply beautiful. I am trying to use nature colors as inspiration to plan my fiber projects so I may just have to make a "flamingo" project based on your picture! I see a yarn order in my future! LOL!
That IS the perfect photo of the flamingos. Great capture.
They really are stunning birds according to this beholder. Why do they get such a bad rap? Beautiful shot, Diane...
Beautiful!! When I was a kid, seeing the flamingos at the zoo was my favorite part.
Have you seen the bedroom that Tammy at Patina and Paint has done? You need to check it out. ;) http://www.patinaandpaint.com/2017/02/17/pink-flamingo-room/
Gorgeous flamingo! Beautiful colour, it looks like they were sprayed with orange colour. Love all your photos.
I am now following you and invite you to follow me too. Thank you. Have a good day!
So beautiful!!
Oh Sis I love love love Flamingos! What gorgeous photos! STUNNING! Now I want to come to Florida again to see Flamingos!! Hugs!
Wow I am impressed! I like them all...but you are correct...that one is the best!
Flamingos (flamingoes?) have always been one of my favorites and these photos are spectacular. Bravo!
Diane.....your post is delightful. I like that the flamingoes can twist their heads around and retreat into their feathers. I'll bet that would come in handy some days for any of us. Haha. And your prize winning photo is fabulous. National Geo will be after that one!
Oh my goodness, look at those pics! YOu know I have never seen one in real life? I'd say they are the most beautiful - along with the male peacocks with ruffles feathers all aplumb - which I have seen.
Your "award winning pick" is outstanding! : - )
Share this with the linky party Pink Saturdays over at Beverly's HOW SWEET THE SOUND blog - the pink lovers will adore this - tho they do look a bit more salmon colored, eh? (haha just kidding, please share there.) I am heading there right after this myself.
Hugs. ♥
THE FLAMINGO!!!!! A rare beauty all on its own. Me and Jess LOVE the Flamingo, Diane, and your pics are wonderful of this special bird. The first one is fantastic! Oh, this is one spectacular bird, isn't it? That stork is pretty awesome too. :)
love, ~Sheri
Diane, your Flamingo images are truly spectacular and I too would be over the moon with that stunning photo of the fluffed up flamingo. Gorgeous colours!
Have a wonderful weekend :)
Diane ... these are just brilliant.
In fact they are stunning, and I love how you've presented them.
Aren't flamingos just the most fabulous colour too!
Enjoy your weekend
All the best Jan
you were working with some great posers
HOLY COW!!!! You took an award winning photo there!! It is amazing!! Your photos are always great but this one is spectacular. xo Diana
You could sell that photo . . . if nothing else I think you should get a nice frame with a large white mat and put it on your wall somewhere. Have you ever entered a photo contest . . . or the county fair . . . think about it :)
Hi Diane. Simply beautiful. They are in tip-top condition.
I do enjoy seeing your American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis) in blogland as opposed to seeing our now very numerous European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis.) Of course while sharing a common name the two species are not very closely related other than being members of the finch family of birds.
Hello, the first shot is breathtaking. The flamingos are beautiful birds, lovely color. Great post and beautiful photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
It is breathtaking, wow!
Absolutely stunning!!! That first photo...or even the cropped one should be FRAMED!!!!
Thanks so much for adding your post link for all us bird enthusiasts today. Much appreciated.
...what would I do with all the rest? You share them...thanks.
Wow! That is one of the best photos ever taken and definitely worth framing.
That IS a wonderful shot of such a gorgeous bird. I love their colour! You can keep the buzzards and storks. I'll take a flamingo anyday!
Diane, these are all just gorgeous photos! I'm glad you did not show us just one. Look at those amazing birds. It is wonderful that you get to see them up close. Just beautiful creatures! Thank you. xo
Flamingos are just so beautiful. There isacommercial right now featuring their mating walk. Amazing and so are your pictures.
That is a fabulous pic! I was at that park many years ago and loved it! Bravo!
Just fabulous, Diane! I love birds and your photos are wonderful. Have a nice weekend. ♥
Diane, I love the flamingo pink! Are they napping with their head under their wings?
Wonderful! Beautiful! Fantastic!
Beautiful indeed! Love the colors on these beauties!
I do believe you are right. Wonderful pictures.
Such brilliant colors.
My daughter loved flamingos as a child. Their colour is so pretty. That's one great shot, and lots of fun with the others.
Oh, you have some prizewinners there! I like the funny captions too.
I can see using the one great shot by itself and then putting the rest in a later post. But, I find all the flamingo shots just fantastic! What a wonderful photo op--you did a wonderful job capturing all the birds. Well done!
I can't begin to tell you how beautiful this is to me, Diane.

What a pleasant dilemma! Love them all!
Diane, I think you should matt and frame that photo, it's gorgeous. Make it your christmas card next season too! - wow - the color! Nice capture.
Wow! Stunning birds! Their necks look almost snakelike when they are at rest. Have a wonderful week x
WOW.........that is all I can think.......just.......WOW!!!
WOW.........that is all I can think.......just.......WOW!!!
Beautiful photo! Actually all of them are beautiful! Isn't it funny that the buzzards think they're so pretty?! It makes you kinda love them a little bit. Those flamingos are such a gorgeous colour, and I love all their twisty necks. Well done with the camera Diane, you should stamp "First Place" on the first photo!
Where are you hiking shoes taking you next?!
Wendy
unusually strong colors on this Flamingo. Loved to see it and the rest too :)
Absolutely divine first photo of the flamingo ~ lovely other photos too ~ thanks,
Wishing you a Happy Day ~ ^_^
Gorgeous pics, Diane of the very pretty pink and orange flamingos! I've always wondered how those skinny legs hold up those bodies! They are great posers, that's for sure!
Have a lovely week!
Hugs,
Poppy
That is gorgeous. Just beautiful. I'd turn that one into a canvas.
I love your humor!!! LOL! The Flamingo is a glorious picture, but the buzzards aren't too shabby either. (I am still laughing!)
Wow... just amazing Diane, great photos and what magnificent birds. My hubby said the same thing, I called him over to look too.😽😄
What elegant creatures they are - and your photo certainly does that one Flamingo justice!
Crazy looking birds! Saw one Greater Flamingo at great distance in India. Look good in the binoculars but way too far away for pictures.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
the first one is GORGEOUS, everything about it. the color, the focus, the pose BRAVO!! so are all of them and i am glad you shared them all!!
i can feel your excitement!!!
You are absolutely correct, that is an awesomely stunning photograph my friend. I would suggest that you go to Canvas on Demand which is also on Facebook and while they have them at 70% off get yourself a canvas of that beautiful snap capture. Have a blessed week dear one~
Lovely colour!AriadnefromGreece!
Stunning flamingo photo -- contest worthy. It is just gorgeous. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I'm sure you're right that the vultures and storks probably think they are most beautiful of all ... but to our eyes --- that flamingo shot wins hands down. Wow, you are so darn good.
Oh, Diane! I am so glad Michele pointed you in the direction of Pink Saturday. When I saw your photo of the flamingoes, my heart went pitter-pat. I have loved flamingoes ever since I was a little girl. I grew up and spent most of my life in south Florida.
Again, welcome to Pink Saturday. I hope you will join us often. This post is being featured on my Pink Saturday post this week as "the one that caught my eye". ♥
Diane! When I saw your feature at Beverly's I flew right over ...with the flamingos. :) I've missed visiting with you. Been such a whirlwind with two college graduations and our daughter's wedding in 2015, both our children moving away (one to Colorado), and now this empty nest thing everyone warned me about but I didn't want to believe (sure could use a traveling apron). :) I vent with creativity and love to design new sites. Hope you'll visit sometime. Looking forward to staying in touch.
