I would rather hike with my hubby! That’s the best walk I can take.
Other times I walk in the afternoon with my girlfriend, Mary Jane and that’s very nice too.
(tulip trees in bloom)
But sometimes I’m ‘on my own’ so I drive over to Shalom Park and walk by myself.
Well, there are always a lot of other people walking there too.
But you know what I mean.
(a lipstick plant)
It gives me a chance to ponder and pray,
say ‘Hello’ to older folks sitting on the benches,
offer to take photos of cute couples with their cameras,
and stop and smell the roses.
Just a little happiness walk can make all the difference.
(and the weather is beautiful here in Florida)
Time to reflect and make sure I’m on the right path.
Wish you were here to take a happiness walk with me!

Great place to spend quality time.
I just love the hame of the park, Diane. It is a very peaceful place.
You are blessed to enjoy such pretty scenery and kind folks on your walk. A good time to have a little talk with the Lord, too. Have a blessed Monday.
That is such a lovely park. I enjoy seeing your pictures of it.
Walks are good for us physically, but spiritually too. It looks like a great place to walk.
What a wonderful post - such pretty flowers and nice warm weather. We are in the high 50s with spotty sunshine. When the sun is on the deck it is nice enough to sit out there and enjoy it - but when the sun is behind the woods across the street it is time to come indoors and do chores. I love the tulip tree - we have them all over town - some as big as oak trees - it is amazing that they grow both in the south and up here in the Pacific Northwest - ours are in full bloom now too. Happy week ahead my friend - now I must get caught up on reading the past blog posts. Many hugs.
What a wonderful way to see nature and to get good exercise! You always bring us some really nice nature photos. The sweet couple just sitting there enjoying the moment! Hope you have a great week!

Beautiful! I wish I were there to take a walk with you!!
So lovely !?..enjoy the week...love Ria x ❤️
So beautiful x
Shalom Park is lovely and yes, I'd love to walk with you there. Happy Monday!
What a great post, Diane. Like you, I enjoy walking with my husband most, but solitary walks are wonderful for sorting through thoughts and praying, and walks with friends are just plain good. Your happiness walk took you through some lovely spots. The photo of the couple on the bench looking upwards is a sweet one. Have a wonderful week!
How lovely! And you did such a good job with this post that I feel as if I took the walk with you. You're a blessing!
Such a gorgeous time of the year to be out walking. Enjoy!
Judy
What a gorgeous and peaceful place to walk. I would love to join you there although I'm sure our chatter would take away any peace for other patrons. LOL It is still very chilly here most days and not much sun so being the fair weather walker that I am I've not been out much. Maybe I need to move south. I know I do!! Enjoy your walks wherever they are. xo Pam
Such a beautiful spot. We all need some time to ponder and you have the perfect place!
Easy to see why that walk would make you happy. So glad to have joined you today.
What a wonderful post, Diane...I do prefer walking alone for the most part since I use that time to, like you, pray and worship as I take in the beauty all around me. Of course stopping to capture it with my camera, I also consider a form of worship! My problem is, I just don't do enough walking! Your photos and mosaic are gorgeous! Enjoy your week!
Lovely ... and I would walk with you.
I agree, sometimes one does need to go for a walk all by themselves to think and pray. I do that too.
Have a blessed week my friend.
Carla
Such a wonderful park and I can appreciate your words "a little happiness walk can make all the difference"
Good wishes for the week ahead.
All the best Jan
Diane, I've not heard of a tulip tree before but it is gorgeous. I'm glad you've had lovely weather. It's been a bit cooler here lately but we are due for a bit of warmth tomorrow. xo
Wow, it would make me happy to walk where I could see all of these!
I'd take a happiness walk with you any day of the week, Diane especially in Shalom Park when the tulip trees and roses are in bloom. How wonderful to have such a lovely place to walk, sit and contemplate life.
Thank you for sharing this special place of yours with the MM crowd this week.
Such a beautiful place to walk. I prefer walking alone, and have taken a morning walk since 1988! : )
Well, first of all, these photos are fabulous. You have a steady hand and your camera has a great lens. Loads of detail. I can see why you love walking there, especially at this time of year when everything is in full flower. (I've never seen a Lipstick plant. It looks like the Fairy Cosmetic Store!)
And second -- more on this off blog -- thank you! A lovely package arrived in my box yesterday and I have been devouring it! You are so thoughtful. More thanks later, but I wanted to let you know it had safely arrived!
Thanks for taking us along ...your happiness makes me smile too! I enjoy walking with my husband and alone too ...as you so beautifully say, there are good things about both.
Happiness is contagous and it's a great germ to spread . . . thanks :)
I am hoping that I can start walking again soon. It has been so cold and miserable here that it is hard to walk outside here. xo Diana
Hi Diane,
Lovely post and how neat to be able to go walking and see all the beauty there - the flowers are gorgeous.
Happy day
hugs
Carolyn
Walking with a girlfriend is what I used to do when I lived in PA. Now that I cannot walk, I really miss it. You are so blessed to have beautiful places to walk. We walked around in our neighborhood but your walks are much more interesting and lovely. Like I said, you are blessed to live where you do.
Love.
What a beautiful park for walks and photos.
Happy Mother's Day sis.
Howdy there Diane! glad you liked the doll post, they are so cute aren't they? i think I've bought little granddaughter three of them now. Yep, I enjoy them as much as her! I thought of you when I saw the purple dresses! Enjoyed your post today too...so many pretty things in bloom! I don't recognize quite a few of your flowers there, so glad when you identify them. I have never heard of a lipstick plant!!? I love learning new things via blogging, don't you? I do love the photos of couples like you got here, I try to get pictures of PEOPLE but its hard not to be intrusive, I am practicing! you and I sure spend many rewarding hours WALKING ABOUT, don't we?
So glad you enjoy hiking/walking. We do too. We are at the beach this week --and enjoy not only walking on the beach --but also going to a neat little park nearby... GORGEOUS --just like your pictures!!!!!!
Hope hubby is still doing well...My hub is having some blood pressure issues for the first time in his life ---so he may have to go on medication. (Neither of us take prescription drugs YET.)
Hugs,
Betsy
A lovely post, Diane. Sholom Park looks peaceful, and it's nice to walk by ourselves once in awhile. We see and hear so much more when we are still and listening. Love the path photo.
Have a nice week.
love, ~Sheri
What a sweet compliment to you and your hubby. To take walks and hike together. I usually do it all alone, as my hubby is just not into it. We used to go to the park with the children when they were younger and still at home, but he is an inside reading the paper, doing the crossword puzzle kind of guy, while I take a long walk or country drive. Hugs my friend~
We love hiking and walking too. I agree with you that solitary walking has its rewards. Great for meditation and reflection. Beautiful photos as always. Jackie
