Sit back and relax because I have some cute photos to share with you today!
We heard them first...crying !!
Then we looked up into a TALL TALL TREE....
and saw a nest with TWO baby hawks!
Hubby had his camera....
and I had mine...
Click....
Click!
And we saw Mama (or Papa) all along the trail! (yes we finally got back to hiking)
She even perched on a tree near the bridge.
Looking for something to catch to feed those babies.
Because they are CRYING! They are LOUD! And they are HUNGRY!!!
Gotta FLY and find MORE!!!
Aren't babies the absolute cutest?

Adorable photos of the baby hawks and wonderful shots of Mom and Dad too ~ thanks,
Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
I've seen lots of hawks, but this is the first time for babies! Cutest indeed!!
You are a miracle worker with that camera and zoom. Fabulous photos, Diane. Showing something we rarely see!
WOW! You two are great at taking photos. I enjoy all the nature you share.
Great team work!

They are adorable! And in the third picture, he is looking right at you! And you even found the mom! Baby birds always look so mad. I love the colors in the quilt! And the name of your blog...lavender may be my favorite scent.
Diane, their eyes are HUGE! And they are adorable. Hawks are such strong beautiful creatures. Though I can't trust that Little Bear is safe outside by herself. Too many hawks and such. xo
I loved your pictures of the baby hawks. They do look mad, obviously they are not just hungry, but "h-angry".
The birds are so adorable!! You really did get the sweetest shots.
...a family affair.
These are wonderful! So, so cute!
I am amazed at what good close ups that you get! Good pictures!
Such great shots, Diane! That mama hawk has a busy time of it keeping the young 'uns happy and fed.
Oh my word!!---look at those sweet little faces!! Y'all surely captured some awesome moments here, those are really great pictures my friend! We see lots of hawks here but we have never happened upon babies, wow, your zoom WORK GREAT!! These are some of my favorites you've ever posted!
Hope y'all are having a real nice weekend. We have an outing tomorrow and although I'm looking forward to it....it's just so dang hot out there...guess I'm gonna give it a try though. LOL Maybe we will have some good breezes!
Wonderful pictures Diane. Of course being a birder I need to know what species of hawk. is that a Red-shouldered Hawk?
Awwwwwwwww, so precious these are Diane!! What awesome captures, and each one shows so much personality. Lovin' it.
I do thank you so much for sharing this with us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin'...it's always a pleasure visiting!!
never before seen a baby hawk like this. Love it! Glad you both had cameras. Timed like this you take many :) Loved it. Thanks for sharing.
You have some brilliant shots there, I'm not too familier with American Hawks so struggleing to guess what it might be, Red shouldered ?
Thank you for looking in on my blog , and take care, Gordon.
PS. KEEP CLICKING, Gordon
What a rare opportunity to see the babies. You might have missed them if they hadn't been hungry! Beautiful shots of both the cutest babies and the mother.
Wendy
They are wonderful, precious birds! I'm so glad you shared these today. :)
So cute! Those babies eat a lot also! Keeps Mom and Dad very busy. Glad to see you out hiking again! Hugs!
Those baby hawks are very cute! I can almost hear them through your amazing photos.
You and your hubby get the BEST bird pictures! I love the little one tilting its head in one of the pictures. And the parent, so gorgeous. Congrats on some great bird pictures. Loved them all.
Wow fantastic pictures.
oh, she is beautiful! and they are adorable. Great capture.
YIKES, So Adorable, so brilliant those sweet eyas! I just LOVE them and I am thrilled that at least these two are doing well.
They have such a difficult time. Larger Birds of Prey, Raccoon's, can still cause such havoc on this nest and I pray it will not happen. They will be among some of the loudest birds in North America as adults and know also that less than 10% of these first year birds will survive their first Winter. I do all that I can to help with their success here and this is the worst two years we have had since 1996, yet I remain hopeful.
I hope that you and your hubby can keep up with these lovely eyas until, and maybe even for a while after they have fledged.
Great photo documentation Diane and thank you so much for alerting me. I think they are just wonderful~
Hugs my friend~
Adorable! First time I've seen a baby hawk. So glad you both had your cameras and captured these wonderful shots. I love how the mamas take such good care of their babies.
Amazing!! that Mama hawk is just beautiful.
Oh my gosh I am so envious -- what pure joy to see these adorable babies. Wow. It's pure joy to know that you both are back to hiking again too. Yay .
Fantastic post! What fun!

Hello Diane!:) I'm late in commenting after a very busy weekend, but these pics were worth waiting for,...they are AMAZING!! What a fantastic encounter,... I would have been click clicking away too. Your captures of the beautiful mature hawks, and the chicks are lovely. Nice to know you are both enjoying the outdoors again, and so glad your hubby is feeling better.:)
aahh, those baby hawks are so precious, Diane. And you and husband got some great pics of them. Their eyes are so big, and they look alert for babies. And then there's mama or papa guarding and protecting. Love your birds from Florida, Diane.
