We hiked at Blue Run in Dunnellon this week and saw a bird that we've never seen before. Or at least never identified before. We see a lot of warblers and they have splashes of color so that's what we thought at first.
But looking at our photos and using our ID books, we believe it's a Northern Parula!
Oh happy day! Of course they were flitting about and hard to capture but it sure was exciting to try.
Something else we've never see there before was this River Otter.
It swam right down the middle of the Rainbow River and under the bridge we were standing on.
That was fun to see.
I barely caught this Ibis in flight.
And I thought this dragonfly was pretty.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
A special Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

These gorgeous birds take my breath away, Diane. It's amazing, isn't it, how birds differ in color and all from one region to another? I see photos here of birds I've never seen in my part of the country. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough!
I can nature watch with you!!! Blogging again too.
Otters are the cutest animals!! congrats on adding to your birding list!
LOVE the dragonfly photo! Happy weekend Sis!
Oh my Diane,
You got some great shots here - lovely to see the otter, the dragonfly is an attractive colour, and that water is a gorgeous blue colour.
Enjoy your weekend
All the best Jan

Nice shots. Love dragons too. And otters are the funnest thing to watch.
You really captured a bunch of what nature has to offer. Great shots of so many wonderful creatures.
I always love your photos. I wish I could do the same with a camera. Not my talent though. I have been walking each morning around the neighborhood. I love seeing all the different species of birds. We have a lot of trees in our neighborhood so lots of birdies too.
Always enjoy your post, Thanks for showing us things we will
never see on our own.
Oh my - what pretty birds - and the scenery is simply gorgeous. Your hikes always bring us such wonderful critters. Happiest Mother's Day my dear, enjoy the weekend. We are moping around with colds this weekend -seems our entire family has a cold - isn't that weird? And we've not been around each other enough to pass it along.
Lovely nature shots ~ all wonderful! ~ thanks,
Happy Mother's Day ~ ^_^

those otters are fun to watch!! They are very playful! they usually run (well, swim, lol) in groups though, don't they?---not sure. So neat you got to see one! Maybe it was the daddy out hunting for food for the nest. Have a great day today my friend!!
