After November 1st you can be sure most of the leaves will be on the ground here in the Mountains of NC but I found a few ‘hangers on’!
I’ll have to zoom in for you to find these!
But quite a few were still colorful on the ground.
We hiked at Fletcher Park and I took pics on the run. It was cool and windy!
This Cypress tree was gorgeous and there were some people having a picnic nearby. (they didn’t stay long!)
Do you recognize this green leaf? It looks a little like a mitten, doesn’t it?
Have you been able to get outside and walk this week?
I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE .

Hello, lovely images from your NC mountain visit. The Cypress tree is gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week!
just between you and me...I think naked trees are gorgeous.
It's beautiful, Diane, and I love the blue skies!! Have a wonderful week!
Our leaves are falling but no bare trees as of yet! I am bound and determined to go for a walk through the neighborhood this afternoon!
Loved all your beautiful photos!
It looks like November now, doesn't it. Oh, goodbye, leaves!
It is so pretty. I'll be out walking g the beach latertoday.
I just came in from our walk. It's a cool and lovely morning here, soon to get warm. As soon as the sun came out, it was time to peel off my layers. I always wanted to visit the mountains of NC, but never did. Looking forward to more great pictures.
Lovely colours and mosaic!
Ours leaves have almost all fallen now too and it is sooo chilly!!
Have a wonderful week :)
Diane, I love seeing the colors of that sky and some of the leaves you could still find. All our trees are bare except for the willow. Of course still green color in the pines. :):) Blessings to you and yours, enjoy your thanksgiving. xoxo, Susie
We still have leaves here in North Texas....many of the trees are finally showing their colors. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Neat fall colors--yep--I managed to escape to the 'closed' dock both Sat and Sun and seen my critter friends and some other interesting wild life--sure wished they would get it opened so I could go more often!!( they say it is unsafe--but it is safe--the office here just doesn't like the dock and will look for any excuse to close it--but I know how to get under the closed sign!!! I am such a 'bad' girl!!)
Have a great thanksgiving-di
Glad that you have the opportunity to enjoy the foliage. That cypress is a corker! Have a lovely Thanksgiving week!
Such pretty mosaics! I love the leaves. The second photo with the Carolina blue sky and leaves is simply stunning.
UGH! I've been outside cleaning storm damage from Saturday night's storm. Nothing major, but we did have a weather vane break in several places and tons of limbs. No fun walks for me....now it's crunch time to get everything ready for Thanksgiving, but I enjoy it.
I always enjoy your Mosaic Monday posts!

I really love how you see things most of us would overlook! Great post and wonderful photos! Yes, I can see a mitten!!
Diane, I'm surprised you found a green leaf! That cypress tree is gorgeous! xo
I always enjoy the colors of the fall leaves so love the pic with the reddish/rust colored leaves. Beautiful pics. Mwe have lost many of our leaves here in Kentucky. My birch trees are bare. But it does make it a little easier to photograph the birds sitting on branches.
What gorgeous colour on the cypress tree. Funny you should ask about a walk - hubby and I just came in from a brisk walk in the night, and now I've made a cup of tea and am reading a few blogs. Great group of leaves on the ground!
I like the way how you spotlighted the fallen leaves. The mosaic is lovely, and each leaf has its own beauty which will be muted in colors before crumbling. I can feel majestic aura from that gorgeous Cypress even in the photo.

The mountain scenery of North Carolina is stunning, that cedar tree is simply amazing and that blue sky is wonderful. What a fabulous trip you're having, safe journey home.
Nice images! Enjoy your holiday!
So pretty, Diane - love the beautiful cypress tree and the pretty little pond. This beautiful season went by so quickly! Happy Thanksgiving! x K
Hi Diane,
Very few leaves left here but it was the most beautiful fall. How nice that you are back in NC. Boy that tree is gorgeous! The color is amazing. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving!!! xx
I enjoyed seeing your views from the mountains at this time of year. We had hoped to plan a little leaf peeping trip there, but it didn't happen. Oh well... maybe next year. The cypress tree is looking especially lovely.
Oh, that Cypress tree is so pretty. Love the Autumn colors. The trees are bare in the mountains already! We still have leaves hanging on, but I noticed they are falling fast and wondering when the trees will turn bare.
Happy Thanksgiving, Diane. I'm thankful for your friendship through the years.
love, ~Sheri
I like looking up through the trees at the beautiful blue sky.
I am happy to see that you are still enjoying your vacay in NC. The sun was shining here today. It was supposed to rain, but the sun came out, and it turned out to be a lovely day. Alan got out his tractor and mowed for the last time this year. He brought in the snow blower. So, we are ready!
I just love that you and your hubby are in NC and enjoying your beautiful hikes, Diane. You sure got some great pics of the hawk in your previous post. Happy Thanksgiving blessings to you!
I was able to get out for a walk Sunday, the only day this week without precipitation in the forecast! Never mind, it means I have more time to visit with my blogging friends!
Oh what pretty pictures you got! i love that collage you made, so neat and COLORFUL! Hope you are enjoying your time there, keep making lots of pictures for us okay?
Cypress tree looks good. Nice to see a green leaf in the middle of brown leaves:)
