A Beautiful day for a walk at Sholom Park

I took a nice long walk at Sholom Park on Mother’s Day.

We had lots of clouds in the sky so that kept the temps lower. (about 80 when I finished)

It wasn’t the perfect Mother’s day….I missed my kids and grandkids.

(my favorite photo of the day)

But you can’t feel sad when you get out in nature, look around at the beauty that surrounds you and give thanks for all that you have!

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend too and lots to be thankful for!

Diane, I wish you could have been with all your boys....but you did the right thing by taking a nature walk and counting your blessings. I am sure your sons were thinking of you. I missed seeing one of my daughters...she was busy with her children school concerts. I actually think they went fishing on Mother's Day. LOL. Blessings to you my sweet friend, xoxo, Susie

Oh my....we're hotter than you...it's been unseasonable warm here. In the 90's! Acchhh! LOL! Beautiful blooms and yes, gratitude is everything! Enjoy your 80's!

I didn't get to see my boys yesterday either but I did receive phone calls from them. It was a lazy, laid back Mother's Day and that okay with me. This looks like a beautiful place for a walk and your photos are lovely. It was too hot to walk yesterday so I stayed inside in the AC watching Downton Abbey reruns on PBS! Have a wonderful week...hugs!

A beautiful place to walk and a great way to spend the afternoon.
I saw my son for a moment in the morning when he dropped off a Mother's Day card. 😊
Sorry to say my daughter has cut all communication with us 5 years ago and we never hear from her at all. ☹️

I know your pain that you couldn't be with your kids on Mother's day--I went 20 years of not being with my kids on any holidays or birthdays till I moved to Florida!!
But walks in nature are always good the soul--anytime--love the photos--esp that red roses one--perfect--
here's a late hug from me to you on Mothers day--enjoy, di

Oh, what a pretty rose picture. And the petals falling from it makes it even prettier. Not sure if I told you this, but the Pink rose is my second favorite rose. The park looks lovely on Mother's Day, and although your kids weren't around, it's nice that you took a long walk and appreciated the day.

It's always wonderful to get out and view the flowers, especially when the clouds keep the temps cooler. Thanks for sharing the beauty with us. I wish you a lovely day.

I like walking with you through Shalom Park. There is always beautiful flowers there. It is very hot here so the flowers we planted are growing up so fast we can almost see it. I bought small plants this year because the big plants were so expensive. I still spent way too much for flowers. Now, I am wondering if this hot weather is here to stay. If it is, I may be sorry that I bought so many flowers to water. Have a blessed week, dear friend.

I love all of the places you have to walk. It's a little too hilly for my knees around here and I miss walking outdoors. I missed my kids and grand kids too, but felt grateful to have spent the day with my mom. xo Laura

You had a lovely day. I am sure that you missed our family. It has to be hard for them to be so far away. We hit 90 one day last week, but it has been cool with some rain--we like rain.

What a beautiful park Diane! Perfect place to go for a walk on a day when you need a little uplift. For the first time in a long time I spent the day with all 3 of my daughters, my son-in-law and my husband in Boston. It was very nice to be all together. That doesn't happen very often. Enjoy the rest of the week Diane! xx

That was much like my Mother's Day too Diane. Holidays are never perfect ... but really once your kids are grown-up they aren't the same anyway. And now is our time to enjoy ourselves! And like you getting out in natural surroundings n is my favorite way to lift my spirits! I really like your Sholom Park ... it's the perfect place to do that!!

I enjoyed seeing your photos from your walk, and I know what you mean...this year was the first year I celebrated Mother's Day without my oldest. *sadface*

Hope that you had a call or two... Of the four mothers who gathered for our Mother’s Day BBQ, three of us had missing kids. Life in 2018! Glad that you got out for an invigorating walk in one of your favorite spots.
