I went for a walk to take pics of the gorgeous sunset the night before Hurricane Florence rolled through the mountains.
We have had a steady rain but no high winds. So we are in good shape in the Asheville, NC area.
The sunset is always spectacular.
These are all taken the same evening.
I went out again later and the clouds were low on Mt. Pisgah.
And the clouds were laying heavy over the Blue Ridge mountains.
I take pics from our balcony and from the parking lot.
But honey, could you go higher to get a better view?
And take a selfie while you’re up there!
Hahahahaha!
NO….this is NOT my HONEY! But it’s my neighbor up on the roof getting a better look at the storm clouds rolling in.
I’ll just stay down here and take my photos….thank you very much!
I hate to say this….but I’m going to have to take a break for a couple of weeks. We are helping with a family matter and it’s taking all of my time and energy right now. I don’t like to post pretty pics and not have time to visit all my blog buddies. So I’ll take a little break and be back soon. We’re safe and sound and I hope all of you are too!
Have some fun while I’m gone and tell me all about when I get back! I’ll want a full report….with details! heehee!
I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE.

Beautiful pictures! I LOVE sky pictures and these are gorgeous! Glad you are safe. I'll miss you while you are gone but look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.
hope to see you back soon and that family matters are not to bad and go away quickly. men can be so CRAZY.. why do they stand on roofs? beautiful skies
I'm glad that you're safe and sound away from Florence and all that terrible storm damage. We went RV'ing in the Asheville area one time and when we woke up the next morning there was snow on the ground, well it was March!
Hope you manage to resolve the family concerns satisfactorily and come back to blogland with more pretty pictures soon.
Happy MM.

Take care of your family....that is most important. We will miss your posts and look forward to catching up when you return.
Happy y'all didn't experience any of the power outages and other inconveniences that sometimes accompany storms. Your cloud photos are so pretty! I'll miss you while your attention is elsewhere. Peace! :D
Diane, I loved all the sky shots. I will pray for you and your family. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
We will miss you but understand at times we all need 'away' time. Take care of youself and we will look forward to your return.
These are such pretty sunsets, Diane. Very mysterious with the clouds. It seems that many states are having these storms right now. Take care, and I hope all goes well with the family matter you are helping out with. : )
love, ~Sheri
Take care Diane. I will be praying for you.
Take care of yourself. Glad Florence didn't mess with your time in Asheville. Lovely shots and I agree with you -- no I'm not going up on the roof. We'll be here when you return to welcome you back!
Glad that you fared well. Have a good break. What kind of details are you looking for?😉
I am glad you are safe (am way behind and didn't know you'd done your annual migration up north) ... so being so behind in my reading saved me from worrying about you ;>). Take care of yourself too as you help with family. And *definitely* don't climb up on any rooftops, coming storm or no.
Take care of business and come back when you can! Keeping you and your family in my prayers!
More awesome photos. So glad the storm did not damage your house. Praying for you with the family matter. Blessings.
Here I thought you were safe in Florida! LOL! Love those storm clouds! Stay safe as so much of it is still lots of rain inland. I hope yo u are alright and 'weather the storm' just fine. See you when you return.
Luv your sunsets. Happy MM. Thanks for dropping by my blog today
Much🌦💙🌦love
Such lovely photographs, Diane. Yikes - that man on the roof. He is brave! Have a lovely holiday!
Beautiful sunset pictures. I don't think I would be climbing up on a roof for a better look either.
See you when you get back
Your views are amazing, Diane. I must say that man on the roof scares me! Glad to hear you are safe. Take care of yourself. ♥
Sch beautiful skies. Hope it isn't anything serious and you'll be back soon.
Hello, beautiful captures of the sunset. I hope the man was safe on the roof.
I hope all is well and you are back soon.
Your photos are breathtaking, Diane. I'm glad to know that the Asheville area weathered the storm. We got a lot of rain and one little power flicker so feeling very thankful here.
I hope all goes well with your family matters.
Your photos are amazing . . . yes, stay off the roof, we do not want to hear about you getting hurt.
Happy to hear that the storm past by you.
Connie :)
Enjoy your blog break. I'll be here when you get back! Hugs!
Family always comes first, and I do hope you manage to sort out the family concerns.
I enjoyed seeing your photographs here, they are so lovely.
Looking forward to seeing more when you are ready to return to blogland!
God bless.
All the best Jan
Thanks for the sky photos. They are so varied and beautiful. I hope the family issues are resolved in a positive way. Hugs to you, Diane.
I had this comment come in and want to publish it here...
I love the beautiful new photos! So glad all is well and you stayed safe. I prayed a lot of prayers for you! Weather still hot. It just thundered, but no rain! My new roof looks good, and I had the weeds pulled and the driveway and sidewalk cleaned. Not perfect, but better! Have a nice time--be sure to rest!! Love, Aunt Helen
Sunsets can be so glorious before the storm. I hope you didn't get too much rain and all is buttoned up tight.
Best of luck with your family issues. Things like that deserve your full attention. We'll await your return and your visits -- but in your own good time.
Amazing photos my friend. I am so happy your are safe and well.
Sam is safe as well, we received an ALL CLEAR phone call from him. The storm as passed.
Thank you for the prayers!!

Just gorgeous photos of such a magical sky...happy to hear you are safe and sound...take good care!
Beautiful pictures! Your neighbor reminds me of my youngest son. He has NO fear of heights and would definitely climb up on the roof for a better picture. I had to keep an eye on him growing up.
Enjoy your break...I will miss you!

Gorgeous pictures, Diane! I do love the one of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Glad to hear you are safe and sound. Family is always first.
Wow. Those pictures are just bursting with color - and I love how it kept changing … Glad you are safe, and that you can say the same for your neighbor. The lengths some people will go to for a picture!!! Not me! Take your time getting back to blogging … family comes first!
Que preciosas fotografías!!!!
Great cloud shots. I agree...stay off of the roof! My daughter is in Charlotte and her Mother in Law is still with them. She evacuated from Wilmington.
Gorgeous!
Diane...hope your family matter will be okay sooner than later!
Ever so glorious. I don't think the roof is the best idea - hope he didn't slide off - silly neighbor. I'm trying to catch up on blog reading - Sept. was a very hard month for us, but I'll catch up soon.
