*Festive Lights*

I love living in Florida…lots of sunshine, lots of light!

But of course now the days are short so bring on the twinkle lights!

We’ve had fun decorating inside and out this year.

I don’t have photos of everything yet but I’ll share what I’ve taken so far!

We even put out the Christmas village on our library table.

It’s been packed away for years.

A few pics of the vintage tablecloth I put down first.

And I keep adding stuff!

Or moving things around! lol

But it sure is nice to turn on right at sunset to enjoy all evening!

I even turn it on during the day when it’s cloudy.

You can never have too many twinkle lights!

Do you use lamps, lights and candles in the winter months to brighten your home too?

Your Christmas village is delightful! I have had mine packed away for years too but my hubby accidently brought it when he brought in the rest of the holiday décor bins...hmmm...I wonder if I should try to put it up this year?? Yes, I absolutely LOVE my house lit up with the dim glow of small lamps all year long but at Christmas even more so...no other lighting is needed!

What a sweet village! Love your snowmen. You don't have to deal with the real snow down there!

What a cute Christmas village. I took a chance and bought the 4 Dollar Tree Christmas village houses and my Grandson was so excited. It's staying at Grandma's but he will come over and play with it many times between now and Christmas. I'm trying to be frugal but still have fun! Love Christmas tree lights and the soft glow they make!

Oh Yes---lots of lights and candles here!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE your village.... How special. You need to have an Open House so that people can see all of your goodies.

For the first time, I have begun cutting back on things --such as NOT putting out all of my tons of Christmas decorations. I just don't have the energy to do so much anymore. Since developing A Fib--my entire lifestyle has had to change... BUT--I'm finding it hard to cut back. For example, I have a huge angel collection. This year I decided just to display my Willow Collection (about 19 total).... BUT---when thinking about my other angels, I was sad ---knowing how much I would miss seeing them...

BUT--you gave me an idea... Maybe I can alternate my angel collection and display the others next year..... THANKS!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Your village is so darling. When I put out things like that at christmas the grandsons like to add little touches - sometimes it is Star Wars characters or video game folks. They try and do it so I don't catch them and then wait for me to discover their additions. It has gotten to be a game with us - such sweet memories. All your pretties are perfect for the holidays. I love having the lights of the holiday during this season - it is so comforting. Happy weekend coming up my dear friend.

Ahh-love what you have done so far--and your Christmas village is so cute--all of my Christmas things are still at daughters house and did not get shipped yet and now with waiting to move back to Fl I won't have them shipped--so don't know yet if I will have any lights as I really don't want to spend any money--we will see--
it has been nearly 2 weeks since I have seen the sun--oh how I miss the sun!!
enjoy, di

I love seeing your Christmas village all lit up for the holidays! We have many flame less candles and real candles that light up the darkness of early sunset. Your home is looking quite festive and you've made me think about bringing out my Christmas village. ♥

So fun! Even if the weather is nicer in Florida, it still gets dark way too early and the lights and sparkle are so welcome. I hope I have the energy to put up a little after we get there next week and get things organized. That's the one problem of getting there in early December. It takes a while to get the shutters down, rearrange the furniture, even in our tiny home, get rid of the summer's worth of dust etc etc.... Last year, I didn't have the energy to do much, but I'm feeling good right now and we're flying there, so .... fingers crossed.

Your Christmas Village is SO sweet! I would be changing it around all the time, too! Adding and moving... half the fun, I think! Yes to warm and cozy lighting in the darker winter nights here in FL!

Cute village! I'm a fan of Christmas lights because they brighten the shortest days of the year.

What a pretty Christmas village. I love the lights at this time of year. Although I'm not into full Christmas decorating mode yet, I've put a wreath (real) on the front door, and have a few twinkle lights here and there. It's dark for such a long time these days. Anything we can do to brighten things up!

That is so very pretty, I love it! I also, for many many years, put up a Christmas village. And I enjoyed it alot, really. But we've had to cut back on decorations and my village stayed packed up last year, there just is not enough ROOM FOR IT ALL as it once was when we lived in the big house raising up the kids. Now it's a "pick which ones you want" each year deal, ha ha LOl.....and alternate years I guess as I can't have it ALL UP AT ONCE ANYMORE. In ways I sure MISS IT....in other ways, it's so much quicker and easier to set up and put away when the time comes I guess. I have a pretty big Nativity set with all the many angels and that takes up the entire fireplace mantel, and I have a pretty big collection/display of my big blue poinsettias which takes up another big display area....I used to put our Christmas village on top of a big sideboard in the dining room, but last year Mr. Front Porch got me the record player I'd been dreaming of, and now that takes up all that room, so my village is STILL IN THE BOX again.....maybe next year I will have something else figured out or we will switch off things. Anyway, I love yours--you have it set up very pretty.Oh, and guess what?--I finally got my dolls dressed up in their Christmas party dresses, yay!! LOL

Love that village. My sister has a nice one. I have yet to even put away Fall decorations. Hubby is going to have to have back surgery and I will need help getting decorations down...if I even do so.

I love little lights at night during the short days. I put a lot of votives around on the tables for added light. That village is so pretty. I haven't seen one in a long time. I would just sit and stare and maybe daydream or nightdream at it. The table cloth is pretty spectacular too.

Well, I have to say your title "Festive Lights" had me come right over here hehehe. I just love your front door wreath. It's simple with the red bow, and I see you have the colored lights on it, soooo pretty. Your Christmas village is charming. I've always wanted a village. And look at it all lit up! That makes it so special to look at. Your snowmen outside are so jolly and cute too.

*Yes, I put out lots of candles and lights during the dreary days of Winter. : )

What a cute village, Diane! The lamp posts and trees add to its charm. We've started taking out our decorations. Now, looking out the window I see a few snowflakes floating down.

i do!! i have "sprinkle" lanterns, which provide light and scents to the room. it's an unusual product that i get on line. we also have clear twinkle lights that i put on during the day!! i adore lights and pretty scents and don't have much luck with candles, i always seem to get a lot of scoot!!

the house is looking good!! i do think the quality of life is better in florida or warm areas!!!

Love the Christmas Village. Yes we love walking around down here and seeing the houses decorated in our neighborhood. I used to love to drive around at night to see them, but night driving is no fun anymore.
Loved glancing around at your hikes, Neat.
That is what we are missing being here in our little house in Deltona. But the RV will be out and maybe we can head for Peace river.
Sherry & jack at the Shipslog, thanks for stopping by!
