When the Red Red Robin come Bob Bob Bobin’ Along….

I had a special request to see what Wendy has been up to from my sweet Aunt Helen! So here she is! Dressed for the holidays!

Hi Aunt Helen!!!

Oh, and hanging out with Cowboy Bear! GO COWBOYS!

DSCN5660

I took the time to put her in a little holiday outfit (I think she was dressed for Spring before! lol)

We had such a nice Thanksgiving week! We got in some hiking, ate some yummy meals, watched the parade and a football game.

When we got up on Thanksgiving day, we saw an amazing sight!

HUNDREDS of Robins were in our backyard and on the golf course behind us!

HUNDREDS! We usually see them around Christmas time or even in January but the cold brought them to Florida early this year!

They are hard to see under the palms in back.

So I cropped a photo.

AND while I was standing outside with my camera, 2 Pileated Woodpeckers flew in!

WOW! What a way to start our day of thankfulness!

How is your week going so far?

So that's where all our robins went. It is cold here so I'm glad they are someplace warm. If I had wings, I'd probably fly down there too.

Robins in November -- how special is that?!!

But I'm not a fan of woodpeckers. We had the Flickers at our house in Colorado Springs many years ago and they drove us wild! I was worried we would never be able to sell the house because as soon as we would have a workman repair the holes in our siding, they would come back and make more!!

Blessedly, that is just a bad memory that turned out fine in the end.

I always enjoy seeing your baby dolls Diana!! We had a Florida visitor at our Thanksgiving Table. She attends college in Lakeland which made me think of Terri, my Lakeland blog friend. We did way too much eating...now to get back to the straight and narrow.

When I moved I couldn't take my childhood dolls with me. I found a doll hospital willing to take them (for free of course). I hope they found good homes rather than the trash can. - Margy

What a sight to see so many Robins in your back yard. The Robin is one of my favorite birds for many reasons. He is brave and doesn't scare easily, and always lets me take his picture. Their chest of orange is so pretty and bright. Yes, it's strange to see them in the Winter. I usually see them in the Spring. What a nice Thanksgiving treat for you. Wendy is so cute all dressed up in her Christmas clothes. She has the sweetest face.

Smart birds to head south. November has been a winter month so they’d have had it rough here. It is fun to see them in their winter home.

How cool to see so many Robins together at one time.
I once saw about 20 of them but hundreds, WOW.

What a beautifully perfect TG day!! WE have a lot of robins here in Oregon (it's not very cold here yet, just a bit dampish). I wonder if the ones here will fly south with us next week (I will watch out the plane window ;>)

Diane - THAT'S where all our robins went!!! The birds around here must have finally run out of easy-to-find food since they have re-appeared at our feeders … My week is off to a great start - I was at church today decorating for Advent, and now I am home catching up with all my blogging buddies while listening to Christmas music. It doesn't get any better! Thanks for bob bob bobbin' over to Mosaic Monday!

Look at all those very smart Robins, coming south before those blizzards up north!! Growing up in Ohio, we used to wait for the Robins to show up again because that meant winter was over!! Love these photos!

I would sure love to see all those robins! They are cute. I love seeing your Wendy doll again, she is all decked out and so cute! I hopefully will be getting my dollies into their pretty Christmas dresses this week. I like to dress them up for Christmas and also for Easter. Hope your week is coming along well, I've been busy decorating for Christmas and we've been eating up the Thanksgivng left-overs! LOL

Wendy is so cute all dressed up for the holidays! I love robins and I think the animal world knows better about the weather. Thy keep saying this winter will be warm and wet....I think it's going to be COLD! It's been unseasonable cold here for the first time I've lived here...for this time of year. This is more like January weather. I think those robins are on to something!
